    Flight TU 203
    Tunisair is the national airlines of Tunisia and they operate a pretty cool route. While the majority of their fleet is comprised of narrow body planes that are used on relatively short flights around Africa, Europe and the Middle East, Tunisair owns two A330-200s which they utilize on the airline's only long haul service to Montreal, Canada (they also use their A330's to Paris too). This route has intrigued me for years and last month I finally found an excuse to book it. So, I pack my bags and flew to Montreal to catch this seven and 1/2 hour flight to North Africa in ECONOMY!
    Takeoff and landing footage can be found on NYC Flyer Plus.

    YUL is interesting because it was once a fairly busy place for its time to connect to international service. Then Mirabel Airport opened and a lot of that traffic was killed off due to the need to get from Dorval out to YMX if you wanted to connect from a domestic or USA flight to the rest of the world. Once Mirabel closed, YUL had to catch up with its terminal infrastructure to become the hub that the airport (now renamed for Pierre Trudeau) is today.

    • @Advancedkid
      @Advancedkid 3 місяці тому

      Dorval's decline had everything to do with the 1970's frenchisation of Quebec which saw the exodus of thousands Anglophones to Ontario and Toronto in particular. It's what transformed Toronto to become Canada's primary metropolis, a title previously held by Montreal. Misrabel was a huge flop of a project mainly due to it's distance from Montreal and was hated by both crew and passengers alike. Dorval has since been also overtaken by Vancouver Int. to be Canada's third busiest airport and gateway.

    Wonderful and objective video, man! The duct tape solution is unacceptable - hopefully their quality control will improve soon. You really should review the leaders (service-wise) in the industry: the Asian carriers (Singapore Air, EVA, JAL, ANA, Korean, Cathay Pacific, Garuda, Thai, Malaysia, Vietnam Air) and the middle eastern companies (Emirates, Qatar, Etihad). Kinda looking forward to seeing how pleasantly surprised you will be.

    These planes used to be the flagships of Tunisia's National Carrier, now unfortunately many passengers do not have any respect for the "public good" and the same degradations you see in a plane (either we are talking about the brand new 320neos or the 330) will be seen in the streets and wherever the population will feel unpunished for their actions. I remember when the first 330 was delivered back in 2015, I travelled with it to Paris, and there already was a broken screen that had been punched! The state of the lavatory also indicates that it had been subject to some sort of intentional rage/destruction, and that's very unfortunate. If you ever travel again to Tunisia, there is a private low cost carrier called Nouvelair, that I always use as an example of the difference between a state held company and a private company: you can board in perfectly clean 20 years old 320s with modern cabins, recaro seats, and acceptable conditions. (When did tunisair stop serving alcohol on board? did you travel in Ramadan period? They used to serve a glass of sparkling wine in a champagne flute before take-off when you travelled business back in the days...)

    Hello, I have flown Air Algerie dozens of times to visit family and I can tell you they aren’t the best. The aircraft in your video 7T-VJV still has the outdated cabins. Unfortunately they don’t use their newer a330s on flights to Montreal. If you would like to fly on the most recent a330 (with tv’s and a lie flat business class) there are 3 of those, and they are registered 7T-VJA, 7T-VJB and 7T-VJC. If you would like to fly these models they are deployed to routes from Algiers to Beijing, Dubai and Johannesburg (with a handful flying to Paris but these tend to be swapped last minute for the outdated a330s). Hope this helps 😊

    I flew on one of the last jet airways international flights AMS-BLR, by which point they weren't [seriously] cleaning the cabin, paying employees (yikes), or paying for IFE. While not a great flight I found it tolerable. (although I flew back AF and that was much better). Somehow less dirty than this flight with only the flight crews 'cleaning'

    I mean, the flight ticket in economy for one way is only 400-600TND. So for the money you are getting decent food, nice economy class seats that aren't cramped, and in-flight entertainment which is usually seen on more expensive airlines. So for the value of money it's 4 stars, in my opinion.

    • @nycflyertravel
      @nycflyertravel  20 днів тому

      I tracked the price of this flight for about two years and I never saw it for close to 400-600 TND. The cheapest I can find a one way flight for right now is 578 USD. While the seats weren’t cramped they were dirty and falling apart. The toilets were held together with duct tape and they ran out of toilet paper mid flight. As far as IFE goes, Norse Atlantic has one way flights from New York to London for under $150 and they have IFE.

    • @mohamed-tt2nr
      @mohamed-tt2nr 20 днів тому

      @@nycflyertravel I dont understand what you expect the price to be, the price is about 1800TND for a 9h flight, when I say tickets are about (400TND one-way/ 700-800 round trip). I meant shorter flight such as 3h flights from Tunis-Istanbul for example, and you have also mentioned that there are issues with the seat reclining but there is very nice and helpful crew to assist. When your talking about a dirty cabin I am a frequent flyer with Tunisair and that isn't very dirty, minor stains or debree isnt much of a big issue. And us Tunisians do not accpreciate content creators like you shaming our country's largest airline, that is what you get for the price. Not to mention, there are flights as low as 300TND all the way to Europe with decent food, leg space, and in-flight entertainment system, this is just being overdramatic.
