Most games being made for the console are new IP. An remasters are not worth the time or money to close down. The legal fees for a company like Capcom make is small fan projects to expensive to chase down.
It would be great if Capcom would license this and we'd get physical copies across all modern retro game retailers so people worldwide could buy a cartridge and have it shipped to them without issues, we could also get a Switch physical release too.....I know none of that is ever going to happen but man I really wish it would.

@@RetroGamerBoy that will be amazing, even we definitely can played most of arcades from the glory days of the 80s 90s and even 00s in emulator. I spent all my gaming time in the arcades in the 80s. Watching the bigger boys play and then trying to find loose change to play myself. I remember Double Dragon being the best Beat'em up I had ever experienced and then one day Final Fight was sitting next to it. I was blown away.

If I had to say something, I would get rid of some black elements and make them more like dark gray so it blends in more, I am talking shadows and outline of Maki. Other than this, it's superb! Absolutely brilliant!
I always loved the look of that trademark Megadrive dithering effect to fake transparencies and extra shades of color. I play the Megadrive version of Street Fighter 2 all the time just because that limited color pallet appeals to me.
It's impressive how many enemies they managed to put at same time on the screen without making the Sega Genesis struggle. Only that makes it a better port than the SNES, but they also managed to put details in it that are absent even on the arcade game. Even if it has somethings on the looks, like the small color palette, against it, it looks like it is the best final fight experience overall. Of course I'm thrusting in your opinion about the gameplay feel.
Snes port is better only for release date ;-) Have to explain this? In 1991-92 it was nothing like that then in home consoles. Playing that game then it was crazy like an arcade in home. This is it. SoRage saga are sons of this port which they copy etc. Snes port even no 2 players or other minor details you were no aware then , was that amazing arcade feeling Snes always was ahead gainst Megadrive, big sprites, all colours and sound like arcade. I was lucy to play then in Snes. Laaater port improve some things like mega CD. But this modern game? With modern tecno? Is unofficial , Sega did not supervise, is not a Megadrive game even if you can play it in the consola, not much merit, Megadrive games are from 90s with that technology. Not interested in this curiosity. Best bestem up in Megadrive is Streets of Rage 2.
@@anibalmunoz5569 You make it sounds like Final Fight was ground brake, it wasn't, there were beat'em ups for consoles since the NES, and Final Fight didn't created nothing new, just small new touches and improvements to the genre. And to be even more realistic, the SNES version was a step back because NES best'em ups had multiplayer. Being a good looking port in a new home console of a game of a genre that existed on previous generations isn't ground break. Also it's completely disingenuous to use a date to justify an analise against two similar softwares when they run on similar technology, from the same time period. This argument only is valid when you are comparing similar softwares that run on systems with large gaps on the technology. Because it's the technology that dictates the limitations of the software. So the two points we could take from the time argument, being ground break at the time or being only limited by the technology, don't apply to this comparison. The game wasn't ground break, and the two versions run on similar technology, if anything the Genesis is older than the SNES, so the fact that an older system got a better version makes it to be an even greater port.
Maki is a playable character in Final Fight 2. Guy is dating Maki's sister in Final Fight 2. You have to rescue Maki's sister & Father in Final Fight 2. Maki is also in Capcom vs SNK 2 & the PSP & GBA versions of Street Fight Alpha 3.
I saw someone playing as Haggar in this demo on another channel and noticed that he was moving way too fast especially on the vertical axis, hopefully they can fix that.
I love mega drive sound. It is dark and cool!! It sounds very vintage!! As always the mega drive is the king of the sharp picture. Even the arcade is much much more blurry. The mega drive is like a diamond...it is for all the life!!!😍
Musically, Mega Final Fight is clearly taking direct influence from the Sharp X68000 port more than any other that we have seen: The Sharp X68000 was used by Capcom for many of its CPS~based Arcade titles during development, this is why we had gotten ports to it that were virtually Arcade Perfect with slight changes based on developer preference and it truly does show here; the Opening Cinematic uses the Sharp X68000 port's pitch direction, which is interesting because both it and the Arcade version use the same YM2151 sound chip and it must've been a matter of In~House Decision as to why it was upped by Three keys, truly doesn't sound bad for the Megadrive's YM2612 and YM3438 (your mentioning of the YM2203 caught me off guard, as this title never saw a port to the PC~8800 nor PC~9800, where this particular sound chip is used on by NEC). Gameplay~wise, Mega Final Fight is closer to the Sharp X68000 port while making use of the Enemy Count limitations of Final Fight CD, it is clear to me that even an Underclocked Motorola 68000 at the Megadrive's 07.67 Megahertz (in NTSC Mode) is able to handle Five to Seven active characters onscreen (including Players, Enemies, and Bosses) and I am genuinely curious to see what will happen when running the game in Regen, where we can Overclock the CPU to a Stable Maximum of 094.30 Megahertz (or 6000 Cycles per Line, which is normally only reachable on a Motorola 680x0 Family CPU via the 68060 on an OC); I hope that there will be an update to this after Revision 00's release that allows for Eleven to Thirteen active characters (easiest to trigger in the Arcade version during Stage 05 on Mania), it'll be nice to see how much playing between 68030 Stock (025 MHz) and 68060 OC spec under such a change makes a difference at this level of VRAM Intensity and wishfully it'll be viable from a coding standpoint, this is always fun to experiment with and truly helps me better understand the limits of the Megadrive in many titles where Framerate Consistency truly is key for General Play and Experimental Speedrunning. (:
Those sound effects are pretty stunning. After SNES Drunk pointed out how Final Fight 1 is the one with the best punching sound effect I started to pay more attention to those things and this is excelent. Will you do your own Box version of this game like you did with Mortal Kombat Arcade edition?
Awesome project, thanks for the detailed preview, but...90s? Final Fight arcade was released in 89😉 Anyway, this is mighty impressive👍 I wish companies like Capcom would more often outsource their classics to such passionate and competent fans.
@@RetroGamerBoy to be fair, the majority of us in Europe probably didn't see this until at least 1990, I can remember that being the 1st time I played it.
@@GedH-316 Maybe it's nit picking to you but I and many other people not only remember playing it in winter 89 but also being the pinnacle of 80s beat em up arcade design that started with Kungfu Master and Double Dragon.
There was some screen tearing/sprite flicker in that demo footage and slowdown did seem apparent in 2p mode. Other than that it was like I would imagine an MD version of Final Fight to be. Compromised but faithful to the arcade original
It seems you didn’t note/know the song played during when you were playing as Maki be the first stage boss Dammd was a song from FF2. Maki palette could have been better (more red) but overall the port is totally amazing.
Sweet!!! Count me in. The reason they were able to do this is the Genesis has no problem handling games like these. This game looks on par with the Sega CD port which was better than the Snes port. Now, as you said this was made in 2022 likely with far more ROM space.
Despite the lack of 2 player mode the SNES version is great for what it is. I hope that the developers try to make the same effort on the SNES using a 64Mb cartridge : that would be fun !
For sure, it was a solid port and if you had it back then you did not care about other versions. I doubt they will make a SNES version. They seem to be MD only.
@@RetroGamerBoy - Being able to program in C++ vs Assembly is the reason the Megadrive is so popular for the Brazilian Devs, along with the fantastic SGDK Development kit.
Looking forward to it. I do not know if these were artifacts of the capture, but the framerate did not seem to be stable in 60 Hz and the snappiness of the classics ports in movement is not present. It's like the machine chews more than it can bite. Also the Maki sprite is too thin, probably due to 256px width of Snes Final Fight 2.
O Brasil o berço do Mega drive. Praticamente em fase final o Final fight, fatal fury real bolt. E a pouco tempo um trabalho maravilhoso do MK1 por Master Linkuei.
It would be nice to see things like this getting released on hardware like the Evercade....or more specifically the Evercade 😉. I'm sure it would do well.
You left out one of the most important things about Mega final fight...There's more than 3 enemies on screen at once which the SNES couldn't do...I love it and still to this day play the Mega CD version 👍🏾🙏🏽🤘🏾
My opinion as one of mega fan of this game, they don't have to put the arcade version anymore (because its already has in CD version). They should add 3 players feature in Mega Final Fight to get more heat up the tension of gaming. Yeah!
I'm sure Cody will be pleased to be back in the correct timeline where he's an imprisoned convict instead of a mayor lol. I wish these guys worked at Capcom back in the day. I hope they somehow get the rights and approval to put out a physical release.
Need to see it running at 60fps to judge in all honesty as it's hard to tell here with respect to any slowdown or sacrifices to animation/smoothness. One thing that stands out as a bit jarring, personally, is "throwing in" Maki's FF2 sprite almost 'as-is'. Unsure how that will stand up alongside the usual 3 on screen as FF2 had notably less animation than FF1 as it was a console only sequel (sadly). Presumably Captain Commando will be the SNES sprite too? Excited to try it out though! Doubt there's many 80s born retro gamers who aren't tbh?! See how it stacks against my personal fave rendition: Final Fight One on GBA ❤️
At 60Hz the game currently has moments of slowdown, but I'm trying to solve it. Captain Commando uses arcade sprites, as most sprites are already based (few from the SEGA CD), and had aspect ratio correction, including camera angle. Maki still needs to be revised, there are many details that will be changed.
call me crazy, i find the mega final fight gfx even look better then the arcade version! this needs a physical release, they should work together with limited run, they probably have more exp in getting rights from publishers.
Although I am getting the Mega Drive Mini 2, which features Final Fight CD, and the original arcade Final Fight is on one of the Capcom collections for the PSP, I would LOVE to have a cart only repro of this! I also hear later PS2 Action Replays feature a Mega Drive emulator, so hopefully a ROM of this would work on that! Also, if the 2 people behind that Console Wars UA-cam series are reading this, can a future episode please compare the Mega CD and GBA versions of Final Fight? Thanks!
SEGA and Nintendo should re release their 16 bit consoles to the market, so many people around the globe would buy them and get new releases for them. it's really a wasted opportunity

Most games being made for the console are new IP. An remasters are not worth the time or money to close down. The legal fees for a company like Capcom make is small fan projects to expensive to chase down.
This looks so damn good, can't wait to play this whenever it drops.
You will love it.
Where can we buy it
@@VIRGOLEGACY KB Toys
I thought they stopped making Megadrive games years ago.
@@SegataNoKen I pre-ordered mine at Circus World
It would be great if Capcom would license this and we'd get physical copies across all modern retro game retailers so people worldwide could buy a cartridge and have it shipped to them without issues, we could also get a Switch physical release too.....I know none of that is ever going to happen but man I really wish it would.
I would love to see some of these companies support these projects.
"That cherry ice cream in front of the game cover looks like cherry ice cream, but it's actually banana flavor"
Indeed.
Fantástic, Very good, lucky, good vibes, great vídeo Man.
Cool, I'm glad you liked it.
Wow cool idea to include Maki. I always enjoyed playing as her in later games.
There is some real fan service here.
really awesome. just curious though... did this fanmade port taking account of the GBA port since that one also uses time travel element & has the SFA version of both Guy & Cody playable also having their own story segment?
The team said that it's the original arcade and Mega CD version that Inspire them. I can ask about Final Fight One.
Mike, before anything the art work you did for the case of the game are incredible really like the Sega Genesis one. Hope when realise have a cover like yours. Excellent work as always. Back in Brazil this port had been talking for quite long time. And apparently will be finished soon.... great news. Mike, excellent video, like you I can wait to play this version of the game. Thanks for the video and promote this incredible work this guys really deserve all the attention....
Actually the main artwork is by @OscarCelestini, a very talented artist. It is amazing to see this game on the Mega Drive.
@@RetroGamerBoy thanks for this information I will check out his work, definitely we are all amazed this game can be played on the MegaDrive with that quality....me and many of MegaDrive fans will probably get a physical reales ....and Oscar design looks incredible.... keep posting and promote the game when is finished. A video review would be great.
Pleas used your influence to inspire some to port TMNT Arcade 1989 on MegaDrive will be a dream come true....
@@vicentereisdacruz1915 I don't if I have any influence, but it's a great idea for a video. 10 games that need to be ported to the MD
@@RetroGamerBoy that will be amazing, even we definitely can played most of arcades from the glory days of the 80s 90s and even 00s in emulator. But the nostalgic and passion for the Sega MegaDrive make us image how this games will look with the limitations of this immortal console. Can't wait for this video.
1989 again ,I'm 15 years of age, totally untold.
I spent all my gaming time in the arcades in the 80s. Watching the bigger boys play and then trying to find loose change to play myself. I remember Double Dragon being the best Beat'em up I had ever experienced and then one day Final Fight was sitting next to it. I was blown away.
Holy Smokes, that's cool! If only Capcom made this in the 90s. I'm willing to sacrifice some of the color pallet and audio clarity for more content.
Same here.
Brazilians do what nintendont!!! Thanku for preview as usual Mike, great video. (can i suggest that cover art is done by Oscar Celestini, the real author of original Black Jewel game and so much more indie good stuff)
Yes, Oscar Celestini sent me the pictures to use in the video. He's a great guy and I can't wait for His Black Jewel reborn.
Looks great...but is it in 60fps or 30fps?.. this 1080p video doesn't really show if this runs at 60 or 30?
Also interested to see how does the performance hold up in 2up player mode?
Cool share - looks awesome for bare bones Mega Drive hardware 👍
The devs are working on 60fps. But these videos are not hardcore tech breakdowns so you won't it running here. But they will put this out for free.
awesome video as usual! Can't wait to put my hands on the physical version of this one (real or handmade by me XD)
Same here, and thank you for the artwork. It's amazing 👍
If I had to say something, I would get rid of some black elements and make them more like dark gray so it blends in more, I am talking shadows and outline of Maki. Other than this, it's superb! Absolutely brilliant!
Let's see what they eventually release 👍
Great review of a what seems to be the ultimate Final Fight port!
BTW what is the track playing in the background of the intro for this video??
It's Hurt You Anymore by CLNGR
@@RetroGamerBoy Thanks a lot!
Didn't realize it's just a pop song... It really sounds retro wave
I always loved the look of that trademark Megadrive dithering effect to fake transparencies and extra shades of color. I play the Megadrive version of Street Fighter 2 all the time just because that limited color pallet appeals to me.
Same here, I do like the limitations.
This is absolutely amazing. Thank you @RetroGamerBoy Mike to share this amazing news with us. I'm looking foward to have one 👊👊👊
I'm hoping to do a new video on it soon.
It's really amazing what they managed to pull off with this port. Stunning skillz.
Not to mention 2 player...
She a cool character. I like how tons of the Final Fight characters have made it into Street Fighter over the years.
I saw someone playing as Haggar in this demo on another channel and noticed that he was moving way too fast especially on the vertical axis, hopefully they can fix that.
The team said that there are a number of bugs in Haggar.
It's so great that people are still making games for Mega Drive.
Completely agree

Great upload!
How do you get this game?
How did you add chapters to your video?
It will be free when the team release in around December. You can the emulate it or put it on a cart or find someone selling physical versions of it.
For chapters you just add them to the description. Have a look at my description as an example.

I really liked Punisher on the Mega Drive, it took a lot of the good stuff from this game plus you could use guns
That is a great game. I still need that in the collection.
Mike, you know you’re going to find a way to make a physical copy and box set! Great vid
I'm already on it :)
Good morning from Nova Scotia
Aw man! I can’t wait for this one. It’s getting close I feel
It's shaping up so well.
I've been wondering what a Genesis port of Final Fight would look like for years. Looks like I'm finally going to find out!
Yes you are😁👍
Just imagine if they manage to make Castlevania Rondo Of Blood for Megadrive....
Ohhh that would be cool.
I'd buy a physical copy of this also!! Damn, this looks great.
So would I.
I love mega drive sound. It is dark and cool!! It sounds very vintage!!
As always the mega drive is the king of the sharp picture. Even the arcade is much much more blurry.
The mega drive is like a diamond...it is for all the life!!!😍
You can't beat it. 🤘😝🤘
@@RetroGamerBoy They can't! It is 34 years they are trying to beat it but nothing! Still best console ever!!!
This is really interesting, thank you for taking the time to write this.
Those sound effects are pretty stunning. After SNES Drunk pointed out how Final Fight 1 is the one with the best punching sound effect I started to pay more attention to those things and this is excelent.
Will you do your own Box version of this game like you did with Mortal Kombat Arcade edition?
Of course I will 😂
Please God, make Capcom let Retro-Bit release this on physical cartridge...it's all I want for Christmas! 🎄

Awesome project, thanks for the detailed preview, but...90s? Final Fight arcade was released in 89😉 Anyway, this is mighty impressive👍 I wish companies like Capcom would more often outsource their classics to such passionate and competent fans.
Only a year out, my mistakes are your bigger than that😂
@@RetroGamerBoy to be fair, the majority of us in Europe probably didn't see this until at least 1990, I can remember that being the 1st time I played it.
🤣 released 36 days before the start of the 90s 🤦♂️ geez talk about nit picking 🤣
@@GedH-316 Maybe it's nit picking to you but I and many other people not only remember playing it in winter 89 but also being the pinnacle of 80s beat em up arcade design that started with Kungfu Master and Double Dragon.

I am so with you as well regards the Megadrive sound, I love it!
It's a brilliant sound. Dessert Stikes intro really leans into it.
@@RetroGamerBoy You know I had to go and have a listen as soon as I read this comment and it's class. 😁
There was some screen tearing/sprite flicker in that demo footage and slowdown did seem apparent in 2p mode. Other than that it was like I would imagine an MD version of Final Fight to be. Compromised but faithful to the arcade original
That was probably the capture card.
@@RetroGamerBoy MXRetroDev seems to have similar on their video on UA-cam. I'd never expect perfection to be honest
It seems you didn’t note/know the song played during when you were playing as Maki be the first stage boss Dammd was a song from FF2.

It's a great looking port. I can't wait for the full release.
As a big fan of CAPTAIN COMMANDO, this is a pleasure to me.
Awesome👍
All I want for Christmas is an arcade perfect port of Robocop
I'll get on that now.
Sweet!!! Count me in. The reason they were able to do this is the Genesis has no problem handling games like these. This game looks on par with the Sega CD port which was better than the Snes port. Now, as you said this was made in 2022 likely with far more ROM space.
The final build will probably be 64Mbit / 8MB
Yes!!! So looking forward to this!!

Seeing Genesis or Mega Drive on the game was really cool! 1:04
It's awesome the attention to detail the team has paid to this game.
I would love to play this version of Final Fight. Hopefully the release it on the Nintendo switch or xbox one.
It's a fan project, so it's very unlikely.
@@RetroGamerBoy true perhaps but it's the thought and hope that counts.😉
the arcade is always the best the dark colour and the details of the back grounds and the movement of the play
Of course, but it's great for fans of Sega's 16bit console.

YES!!! The wait is finally over. Now I can say that the dream has finally become a reality Mike. 8^)
Anthony..
It's amazing to see Anthony. And it's a really good port.
It would be interesting to see if they rework Maki.

You left out one of the most important things about Mega final fight...There's more than 3 enemies on screen at once which the SNES couldn't do...I love it and still to this day play the Mega CD version 👍🏾🙏🏽🤘🏾
That's true, I think they have 6 now on screen.
My opinion as one of mega fan of this game, they don't have to put the arcade version anymore (because its already has in CD version).
They should add 3 players feature in Mega Final Fight to get more heat up the tension of gaming. Yeah!
3 Players!!! That would be insane.
3 players what I mention about:
ua-cam.com/video/guCH1vfHRbU/v-deo.html
I'm sure Cody will be pleased to be back in the correct timeline where he's an imprisoned convict instead of a mayor lol. I wish these guys worked at Capcom back in the day. I hope they somehow get the rights and approval to put out a physical release.
Cody becoming Mayor is cannon. In Street Fighter V he runs for mayor after his prison stint is over.
I'm just blown away to see it on the MD. Developing with limited hardware and making something special are some of the best development projects.
If this gets a physical release, I'm buying.
Snap
call me crazy, i find the mega final fight gfx even look better then the arcade version!
this needs a physical release, they should work together with limited run, they probably have more exp in getting rights from publishers.
I hope we can get a physical version from somewhere.
I think you meant 33 years. Final Fight came out in arcades in Dec 1989 and SNES in the US Sept./Oct 1991, and Sega CD in the US summer/fall 1993.
I did, my old mind just isn't very sharp anymore.
Thanks!
That would be cool to see on there.
Looks great Mike, where/when can I get it?
There's no physical edition? Mike ya knob😂
End of December
Wait for it. You know the repro guys will have a cart for sale within weeks of it going on sale.
SEGA and Nintendo should re release their 16 bit consoles to the market, so many people around the globe would buy them and get new releases for them. it's really a wasted opportunity
I guess there are the mini consoles.
