Hi, thank you for your kind words! The game runs on any original Sega Genesis/Megadrive and the cartridge does not add any additional hardware, it is all 100% pure Genesis/Megadrive
Каждый раз, выпуская подобную игру, разработчики энтузиасты доказывают, что Сега слишком рано списала старушку Мегадрайв. Всё могла бы получится иначе.
First off, I'm a simple man. Secondly, This game looks like it draws inspiration from one of the all-time best Cyberpunk games in my opinion, Robocop vs. The Terminator. And finally, I love this model that retro developers have been using where they put out a demo rom and the physical comes later. And Mike thank you for bringing these games to everyone's attention.
The gameplay reminds me of the terminator. I’ve tried the demo on my everdrive and loved it. Definitely getting this when it comes out. Seeing this made me get life on Mars which I’m having a blast with.
It's amazing to see new games made for decades old systems, especially when the games are made by talented programmers that know and exploit the systems abilities and push the hardware with options and play dynamics not used in games made during the consoles heyday.
Mike, this game is absolutely fantastic! I have never seen so many parallaxes running in a Mega Drive game, besides the presentation with voices... This game uses a cartridge with special chips for sound or video? We didn't see this in the 90's... Would a game like this run well on current Mega Drive clones? It looks like something from an arcade and the story reminds me of Druuna (probably someone must have read Serpieri's stories), because it has a lot in common, except for the more hardcore content of the characters. Look, it's impressive what has been done on the Mega Drive, because its direct competitors don't reach the same diversification of releases.
Hi, thank you for your kind words ^_^ There is a playable demo that you can run with your standard Megadrive, it doesn't need any upgrades. The final game with the original cartridge will be protected and it will not run without the cartridge, and it will probably not run with megadrive clones.
@@kaimagazine8221 Got it buddy... I already calculated that this ROM may have extra resources beyond the native capacity of the Mega Drive and therefore FPGA chips will have some conflict when dealing with these other chips, which is not very positive, taking into account what happens with Virtua Racing. Still, let's wait for the final result, as first impressions are excellent.
@@PONTOCRITICO I don't know if I understood your message correctly. The demo rom doesn't have any extra hardware resources, nor the final game. It doesn't use any FPGA chips or extra hardware. This is why the demo ROM you can download and try will work on any megadrive console without any extra hardware. It is a ROM, so it is software, it is a simple rom and it works on any stock console without any additional hardware.
@@kaimagazine8221 "The final game with the original cartridge will be protected and it will not run without the cartridge, and it will probably not run with megadrive clones." Are you going to do a Steam/PC version at least? Some of us love playing Genesis games but don't have the luxury of having a real Genesis hardware setup. Wish that I could just buy the ROM image from you, which I could then play on my favorite emulator, but I do understand the piracy concerns.
Based on that intro, our newest Twitter follower must've mistaken us for you. lol This seriously looks fantastic though--the little touches (like shadow and light!) and it just seems like it'll be so much fun to play.
Looks good so far; the closest comparison off of the top of my mind would be the Genesis version of ESWAT. Always like to see Genesis/Mega Drive focused new games being created in this day and age.
Those levels of parallax and the added details like the flying cars and shadows and highlights and a sight to behold. If they can maintain the quality throughout the game, this could be very special.

It looks really neat, but I hope they adjust the main characters sprite before release. She seems to be in a different scale than the environment, and she's taller than the enemies as well. I know that this is totally nitpicking when the games looks and sounds this great, but once you notice it its hard to ignore. But again, if THAT would be the only issue, then its a mark of a great game!
In a private gaming group chat, we were discussing this game and your video (all good). We all had the same question, are there levels other than street levels?
then you probably missed space harrier 2, e-swat, mickey mania, mega turrican, speedball 2, dynamite headdy, NBA jam, demolition man and so on... recent sound drivers sure make it easier to do clear voices on mega drive/genesis but it's a baffling misconception to think that it wasn't already the case back then!

@@kaimagazine8221 are these games region locked? Like, I like the blue case of the Mega Drive version, could I play it on my US Genesis?
@@scramblesthedeathdealer They are region free, the same cartridge runs on every region
@@kaimagazine8221 Awesome! And thanks for the quick response!
Yup, if you use the link below you can pre-order it. And the best thing is that they have Japanese box art as well.
Каждый раз, выпуская подобную игру, разработчики энтузиасты доказывают, что Сега слишком рано списала старушку Мегадрайв. Всё могла бы получится иначе.
Yup the console had a lot of life left in it.
That footage at the end looks like it could be from some spin off of their MSX game Rune Monster
It's a port from their MSX game Life on Mars.
The demo ROMs are great, they remind me of the old cover disc demos.
The gameplay reminds me of the terminator. I’ve tried the demo on my everdrive and loved it. Definitely getting this when it comes out. Seeing this made me get life on Mars which I’m having a blast with.
I really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to the full release.
Bringing that 80/90s anime booba back. ❤️
They do like their parody in their games.
2:48 on 0.25 speed looks impressive 😅
Exactly 😂
Some skilled animation there.
It's amazing to see new games made for decades old systems, especially when the games are made by talented programmers that know and exploit the systems abilities and push the hardware with options and play dynamics not used in games made during the consoles heyday.
The indie devs are really starting to push the system.
I'm hyped! 😊 aand even preordered :D
Thanks a lot!
Same here. I have my order in.
@@RetroGamerBoy..and it arrived today! 😊
🎉 perfect news Sega😅 Life on Earth 2
Sega forever
Very impressive! Pushing that Sega to the limits!
I love seeing projects like this.
Hi, thank you for your kind words ^_^
There is a playable demo that you can run with your standard Megadrive, it doesn't need any upgrades.
I apologyze if I missunderstood you, but I have slept 2-4 hours for the last several days and my brain is pretty much useless
@@kaimagazine8221 "The final game with the original cartridge will be protected and it will not run without the cartridge, and it will probably not run with megadrive clones."
Are you going to do a Steam/PC version at least? Some of us love playing Genesis games but don't have the luxury of having a real Genesis hardware setup. Wish that I could just buy the ROM image from you, which I could then play on my favorite emulator, but I do understand the piracy concerns.
I'd love to see alternate pallette swaps at least, for the protag. Maybe alternate colors to denote different abilities 🤷♂️
That would be cool
I'm blown away. It looks so damn good, and with full speech and all that graphical trickery, it looks absolutely amazing.
It's amazing what Dev teams are doing with this old Sega Hardware.
Based on that intro, our newest Twitter follower must've mistaken us for you. lol
This seriously looks fantastic though--the little touches (like shadow and light!) and it just seems like it'll be so much fun to play.
Your newest follower features in this game Tom.
Looks good so far; the closest comparison off of the top of my mind would be the Genesis version of ESWAT. Always like to see Genesis/Mega Drive focused new games being created in this day and age.
It's great to see so many of these new games. They won't all be AAA, but as long as we support them, they will continue to come.
Those levels of parallax and the added details like the flying cars and shadows and highlights and a sight to behold. If they can maintain the quality throughout the game, this could be very special.
Fingers crossed
F*ing amazing! Thank you for letting us know about this gem
Any time.
I also like cyberpunk themed games. I had the Matrix movies to thank for that 🥰
I love the first Matrix. I watched not having a clue what it was and then went and watched the next 4 shows in the same day.
Sega genesis is my favorite console to this day. This looks great. I will buy this when it available if I am alive. Lol pray for me.
🙏
Pre ordered it after this video. And while i am on it i ordered their Life on Mars and Metal Dragon too.😁
Some great purchases there.
Wow! Awesome vid, Mike!
A sequel to Life on Mars! That is great news! Love what we see so far. And some audio dialogues out of the Mega Drive? What sorcery is this!? XD
I can't wait!
It's black magic for sure, it was almost Mega CD like.
@@RetroGamerBoy It kinda reminded me of the games from Renovation Products/Telenet. They often had anime-inspired cutscenes (Valis, Gaiares, El Viento, Earnest Evans), but yeah.. this is almost Sega-CD quality!!
This game gave me robocop vs terminator style vibes.
A few people have said this, others call out Shinobi as another game it looks similar to.
looks aweome! i love the new MD escene, thanks for that preview!
It's great, so many cool games in development.
Rea;lly great looking game it is Mike. I really want this in my Sega Genesis collection and It's been a while since I demanded myself for a new Genesis game bro. 8^)
Anthony...
It's certainly looking good Anthony. Are you going to get Final Vendetta on the Neo Geo?
Those are some amazing intros. Presentation of those are insane.
They look great, the voice samples are awesome for the MD.
@@RetroGamerBoy indeed ;). She got some great assets for sure XD.
Wow this game looks amazing 😍 thanks for sharing it with us.
It's great to play, the demo is up on their site.
Maybe she is just a tall lady...
Life on Earth looks excellent. Love the Blade Runner backdrops with the Robocop v Terminator look and play style
Yup, I was thinking of Robocop Vs Terminator when I played this.
What developer's can do without time or financial constraints. Game looks awesome.
Indie Devs make some of the best games out there.
The gun sounds like the gauss cannon from Descent 2 😮
It's does, good call.
In a private gaming group chat, we were discussing this game and your video (all good). We all had the same question, are there levels other than street levels?
Yes, there is a laboratory, a factory, a space agency launch site... And not all levels are linear
The Dev team have the answer for you👍
Wondering how much the game capacity is.
2mb
@@RetroGamerBoy So is 16mbit right? That era game company use this unit.
Más viva que nunca Genesis, es un placer ver tus vídeos.
Thank you, and yes there are so many great games for the console.
That looks stunning! Do they sell a digital version? I play retro games in MiSTER.
I think it's only a physical release.
Enjoyed Life on Mars. I'll definitely be picking this one up!
Snap!!
Why is the intro so... Sexy? 😇😅
Seriously, I'm pre-ordering this game right now! Loved Life on Mars!
Kai-Magazine deserves our support!!!
Thank you very much!
Yes they do. The developers making these new games for old consoles are doing a grand job.
I didn't even think the Genesis was capable of generating voices that
sound clear like that
then you probably missed space harrier 2, e-swat, mickey mania, mega turrican, speedball 2, dynamite headdy, NBA jam, demolition man and so on...
recent sound drivers sure make it easier to do clear voices on mega drive/genesis but it's a baffling misconception to think that it wasn't already the case back then!
It's amazing to hear the clarity.
How they've put so many dialogue wow
It's amazing
Very nice walkthrough Mike! 👍🙏 The visuals look amazing and you pointed out interesting elements which I didn’t notice. I was amazed with how much vocal they could afford to put into a MD game intro, incredible!
I was surprised by that as well, it felt almost like a Mega CD game.
I love the new intro scene you've got. It's fun and makes you a part of your favorite games.
It still needs a little work, but it is better than the previous version.
Thank you Mike. I'm checking daily to see once the pre-orders are up. You you purchasing one for the collection as well?
Anthony..
Yup I have my pre-order in.
Considering how few Mega Bytes can a cartridge hold how the hell did they manage to do a full intro with full animations and voices?
It's coding wizardry
