Thanks again for the awesome content William. I used RealityScan to capture a clay castle my dad my made for my brother's and I when we were kids playing D&D. I was happy with the results and was able to experience a childhood dream of shrinking myself down and exploring the inside of the castle using VR and Unreal Engine 5. Exciting times.
I literally laughed out loud when I saw the end results because its just so good. Big fan of your content Will, I recommend your channel all the time. Keep up the great work!
Gorgeous! I would add a surface imperfection map to the clay material to spice it up a little bit, but rather than that, gosh it looks ridiculously amazing!
Thank you for sharing your techniques. I am new to photogrammetry can you tell me what marker should i use to scan object to maintain scale as real world.?
That sculpt is the most amazing thing in 2023. ❤ Regarding WB and Exposure, Filmic Pro was able to lock them both. Shouldn't RC also be able to? I don't think it is a hardware limitation.. I could be wrong though. I wish you weren't depending on a Sketchfab pipeline. Using this in production might run into issues IP/NDA wise.
It absolutely seems to be a software limitation! I’m sure they will introduce a feature to lock things. But yeah I also wish there was a way to bypass Sketchfab.
Nice result. Love your videos. Is There any chance in the future that you'll create a tutorial of how to render and showcase 3d Character in UE5? something that has some organic parts as well. I think, this is the most neglected subject when it comes to UE5 tutorials. I'll really appreciate if you'll do something like that.
Hey William. Are you active on Patreon any more? Also, are you going over path tracing vs lumen for production rendering anywhere? Cant really wrap my head around some concepts of Unreal in film and if you would choose one over the other in any specific cases? Is there a reason for choosing Unreal Path Tracer over Max and V-ray for example when working with vfx and cgi implementation in film? Would be very nice to hear you talk about this :) Thanks for a great channel!
Mate! That’s rock! Listen.. so iPhone 12 has the depth camera then? Is it right? I’m confused, ‘cause I don’t understand which iPhone has this depth capability. Apple says any iPhone after 2017 (iPhone X) has the depth camera… but then I noticed 11 doesn’t have it.. iPhone 13 doesn’t have it.. SE doesn’t have it.. but you need a Pro version. Basically I’m looking for a cheap iPhone version that has the depth camera

Such an interesting video. Thanks William! For me…. This is.. a lot of extra work! And you need to know z brush! :) and have substance painter! I wish reality scan worked better, honestly.
Thanks! You dont need to use zbrush. You can use blender too. Its less about the specifics and more about the workflow. You dont NEED to do all this, the scan from RealityScan was very good, there isn’t much else it can do better, you’re limited by the megapixels of your phone and the ambient lighting.
I doubt youll check this but in the off chance that you do, What is going on with Reality Scan?? It does not give the me the option to download the file as a .fbx file. I have not been able to search or find info on this anywhere. I scanned a small object, and then processed it. It only allows me to download the orignial format, which seems to be a .obj file. I insert into Unreal and it has no size, I cant scale it up. It does however have textures but no body
@@WilliamFaucher Yeah, I've compared two frames the one of the real thing and then the render and you are right. Maybe a touch more reflection could sell it more like a clay? I know having a real thing to look at makes all the difference in building correct looking material.

A quick reminder: William uses Lidar scanning with his old Iphone 12 Pro, if you haven't pro version of Iphone, you cannot use Lidar scanning. Lidar helps to capture more detail a lot, normal photo scanning doesn't work that well, also lightning is pretty important, make sure you scanning with external light than day-light. Still, pretty good work 👌
This isn’t using Lidar, like at all. It’s photogrammetry through and through. And even if it was, your statement would be incorrect, lidar not more detailed than photogrammetry.
Then it is a pretty solid work only with photogrammetry, professional stuff. You've showed a Pro one, so I thought probably you choose it bc it has Lidar. Still, I'm not agree with Lidar stuff. It can gives similar results in good circumstantes like good light, not so dense object etc. But because of how Lidar works, it is works well more with different conditions for my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the thing you do is awasome and inspiring:) @@WilliamFaucher
Thank you so much for the kind words my friend, it was an absolute honor to be a small part of this!

I didn't even think it was possible to achieve such quality in (Unreal Engine). Cool job!)
This guy is seriously changing our mindset for creating fabulous and gorgeous renders . Thank you so much
These renders are indistinguishable from real. Amazing work.
That looks fantastic, almost indistinguishable from a real shot. thanks for sharing your process.
Can you believe an iPhone 12 is 3 years old already. 😅 This is the pace of our modern world. Great video as always btw
Great stuff William! Also, your production value is superb!
Bloody Hell!!!! As always an amazing video and an amazing master sculpt!

Youre such a cool smart guy, always amazed by your quality, thank you!!!
Wow, love seeing the entire process and great tips inside Substance. Those final renders are clean! 👏

Hi! Thanks for the video. Just to let you know that the folder for 5.3 doesn't appear to be there on your gumroad. 5.0 + 5.1 + 5.2 are there thought.
Can you tell me what pc specs you usually use for unreal engine?
the Unreal Engine Render Settings Guide link is broken I think, Great video
Thanks for the heads up! Its fixed

RealityScan doesnt use lidar, you can use any phone

Is this doable with Android phones? Or does reality capture rely only on Lidar ? Would be nice to be able to get nice results with Android...
Yes! I state this at the beginning of the video. Works on android. And no its not lidar

😯👍
I feel like a little more sub surface scattering on clay material is needed, it feels more like coloured concreate rather than clay.
I thought so too until I checked the real thing, it absolutely didn’t have any sss, good clay is extremely dense

Any one help ihave some issu when i download nanite big clif rock import to sean light pass through. How to block it 😭😞😭😞😭😞
You can place a cube behind it to block the light :) I believe you can set it to two-sided shadow as well.
@@WilliamFaucherthaks sir i learn from you
If you showed me the render without telling me I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between that and irl

Unreal engine IS free. Just go to their website and download it.

reality capture is too expensive for student like me…😢
This is RealityScan, not RealityCapture. It is free, buddy ☺️
It's not, just a few cents per export. You won't spend more than a few bucks per project, c'mon.
no disclosure, expect in the description, that's not good
What are you talking about? I specifically mention the sponsorship in the beginning of the video.
