I found out last night that in Sweet and Sour Salvo, if Aerith is wearing her beachwear, she puts on a different style of cute sunglasses, and those little details make me laugh.
Well now I have to check this out- especially since I thought the shades sre her taking something from Barret, meaning they are Barret's cute sunglasses.
Actually they are, Barret hands her one of his extra pairs. This also means that Barrett keeps spare shades on him at all times in case one of them breaks like Rude.

This game was so good at making the party feel like FRIENDS. Like people who have actually developed strong bonds after going through so much shit together. They understand each other intuitively and all their crazy shit just meshes together. I have no idea how they top this in 7R3. I guess the only thing left at this point would be TRIPLE TECHS!
Yeah except while out just doing stuff in the world, NOBODY fucking says anything or has conversations or interesting back and forths. The only time the crew talk, is during some form of "event" ie. Side quest, chadley poi, or something similar and it's usually ONLY between cloud and the 1 other character that is "relevant" for that sequenve. Just chilling they don't say a fuckin peep and it's boring. Ff15 did it right, with random conversations and interesting tidbits and quips. Similar to god of war, like how mimir will tell stories on a boat or atreus will chat up your party member while just hanging out. It drives me nuts it's missing in this game, it's honestly devastating to me and my enjoyment of the game, especially since they've done it perfectly before with 15. It's not even something that can be fixed with mods once it comes to pc since there's no way to add voicelines that aren't recorded by the va's. It was my biggest problem with the game, and I seriously feel it's the most important thing they missed. People want nothing more in the ff7 universe than to get more character interaction, especially the small stuff that let's their personalities shine. It's saddening.

@@taylon5200They gave us a lot of great interactions….. but in the end I do agree with you. A bit more in the wild outside of battle would be very welcome. Some repeatable lines like “are we there yet?” Some one off conversations that we never hear again. Have Yuffi repeatedly breaking into song and encouraging the others to join in. (Maybe add simple rhythm mechanics to make it gameplay) Add a replayable game of “I spy” where you have to guess & select the landmark the character is thinking of. Would eat up more stuff like this.

If you go frame by frame after that moment you can see that their swords accidentally clashed (the Materia Guardian must have dodged back at the very last moment) hence why Cloud made that "wha-?" look. Also check out the enemy health bar during that moment, they're placed on the opposite side of their heads, and they're not looking at the direction of it.
One detail I love about Mega Moogle Smash is that you can also see Aerith and Cait looking very concerned while Mog is smashing the shit out the enemies, like they didn't expect the rampage lol
SOILDER's Honor is easily my favorite, the shoulder tap is amazing. And yeah, the Jenova fight ending felt like the introduction into potential three party member Synergy attacks with that Tifa, Barret, and Cloud attack.

For me Synchro Cyclone is a 10/10, I really like the symbolism. Tifa's bearing the weight and burden of the attack with her man, Cloud. Its very Power Ranger-y too
That, and they did say that they wanted Zack to be more hand to hand focused in Crisis Core, but couldn’t make it work due to the limitations of the PSP. Guess they remedied that here.
And I can't wait for the "triple" synergies where all 3 party members go in! Or, an "ultimate" type synergy like the jenova one here, where everyone goes ham, even the party outside your party
The cinematic Jenova synergy is reminiscent of AC scene against Syn Bahamut. Whole (current) party doin their part to take down the boss. Loved the call back!

As an OG player, one of the best things i think we're getting in the remake is more time with the characters interacting during the story, because of how much i love these characters. Synergy abilities have to be the best extension of that we could get in the combat. You can tell they put a lot of time into this cause you have moves for every combination of the party to the point where not everybody will even get to see every combo in their playthrough, i certainly made sure to try them all though and loved every minute!
A cool part of Ninja Carbine is that the “bullets” fired from Barret & Yuffie’s shuriken combo are actually kunai blades. But you can’t tell that easily unless you control the 3rd character and watch the Synergy attack from a different angle than the camera work
I'm p sure Feline Fury is a callback to the Advent Children team-up where Cait was riding Red instead of his mog and they were letting off materia blasts
27:00 I think in that one Synergy I hear the super mushroom, something from the the Mario Bros. arcade game, sound of blocks breaking, and the jump noise. They're all just a little off so as not to be straight copies, but man that was funny.
Personally I favored Divine Punishment. It just looks badass for both Aerith and Tifa; no need for any weapon attacks - just Tifa beating the hell out of the enemy with Aerith keeping the shield up.

I know synergy attacks aren’t conventional supers, but this really opens the door for more videos like this (like rate the Mystic Artes from the Tales of games! Or rate the S-crafts from the Trails series!) I saw someone joke about a “Rate the synergy” during the livestreams but I thought it was actually an incredible idea. So happy to see this appear in my sub box!

I don't think he's touching a Tales or Trails game with a 10 foot pole lol Simmons has been trying to get him to play Xenoblade for like, years now and he won't budge xD. He did FF7 because he's a massive FF7 fan

My favorite part of Mystic Multiplication is the clones Yuffie makes are wooden puppets. All skinny limbed with ball joints and no details to their faces. Like, she COULD make living clones, but she's gonna blow em up at the end, so crash test dummies instead.
Partners in Pain is teased early in the game in Chadley’s tutorial simulator for Synergy and we don’t get to use it until much later in the game since it’s way up there on the folio tree.
Rebirth's Synergy Attacks are so damn awesome! Every single one of them have so much personality and just look so fricking cool! I hope the next game expands on them more and make it look even cooler
Synchro Cyclone is my fav one man LOL! Along with the Barret and Aerith & Tifa and Yuffie ones. So cool. Do I dare say triple synergy attacks in part 3.
Bro I used Synchro Cyclone like a billion times without understanding they were swinging the sword together…there’s so much shit happening on the screen and it goes so fast you can’t even appreciate the little details like that half the time…
I would love if Remake Part 3 did an "All Out Blitz" type where the entire party jumps in a does a massive combo. Kind of like a more encompassing ability like the Bahamut fight in Advent Children.
Here's to hoping the third game adds triple techs. Just imagine Cloud, Barret, and Tifa pulling off a massive f*ck-off combo together like they do during the last Jenova fight.
If there’s one thing you can count on Squaresoft/Squeenix doing really well, it’s really flashy and cool team-up attacks that are just full of character. Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3 (3D to a lesser extent since those are more cookie cutter), Chrono, Intermission and Rebirth, and more recent Dragon Quests. I wish more games did these kinds of things because the only RPGs I can name off the top of my head that does something similar are PoPoLoCrois, the Mario & Luigi series (which that’s the entire premise of the series), Super Mario RPG remake, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (namely Torna the Golden Country, but the base game has some too), and Sea of Stars, the latter being heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger to begin with.
16:39 the moment I saw Synchro Cyclone and how it goes when I went through my playthrough, it became my most used Synergy Attack because of how sick it looked by the end.
i don't know why, but after seeing some of Tifa's Synergies with other characters i kinda get the idea of Tifa being in a Fighting game (dunno, maybe i'm too fighting game focused, but some of the moves she does on some of them kind remind me of some or make think it would be awsome if she was in one)
My cope is that the last one is a peek into triple synergy for part 3 and I hope we start unlocking it after the lifestream scene because the party is fully bonded together.
I really love the power couple energy they gave Cloud and Tifa in their synergies. Even if Cloud spends the entire game thirsting after Sephiroth instead.
24:23 Soldier Moogle class is one of my favorites mostly down to me and my brother seeing it in the final fight. We were dying of laughter seeing a Mog just using the buster blade there. Lol
It's wild that I went damn near 200 hours with this game and made sure to unlock all of these (sacrificing smaller skills to do it), and yet I still am seeing a couple of these for the first time
6:12 - They showed this attack in one of the trailers, and it instantly convinced me that I was going to love Rebirth. Not that I had many doubts beforehand, of course ... but yeah, 10 out of 10 is completely correct. Some opinions CAN be objectively correct, and that's one of them.
Mayhem Go Round with Barret and Cait is my absolute favorite, It is THE crowd control move in this game, it'll effectively end any fight with lesser enemies as soon as you use it.
I loved Ringmaster, bought it the second it became available. Thought it was hilarious using Red as a morning star. Feel a little guilty afterwards tho.

Partners in Pain is teased early in the game in Chadley’s tutorial simulator for Synergy and we don’t get to use it until much later in the game since it’s way up there on the folio tree.

Rebirth's Synergy Attacks are so damn awesome! Every single one of them have so much personality and just look so fricking cool! I hope the next game expands on them more and make it look even cooler

Also noticed from another vid that Ninja Carbine (Yuffie + Barret) makes it so that Barret's gun shoots out a storm of kunai instead of bullets.
I would love if Remake Part 3 did an "All Out Blitz" type where the entire party jumps in a does a massive combo. Kind of like a more encompassing ability like the Bahamut fight in Advent Children.
Here's to hoping the third game adds triple techs. Just imagine Cloud, Barret, and Tifa pulling off a massive f*ck-off combo together like they do during the last Jenova fight.

If there’s one thing you can count on Squaresoft/Squeenix doing really well, it’s really flashy and cool team-up attacks that are just full of character. Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3 (3D to a lesser extent since those are more cookie cutter), Chrono, Intermission and Rebirth, and more recent Dragon Quests. I wish more games did these kinds of things because the only RPGs I can name off the top of my head that does something similar are PoPoLoCrois, the Mario & Luigi series (which that’s the entire premise of the series), Super Mario RPG remake, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (namely Torna the Golden Country, but the base game has some too), and Sea of Stars, the latter being heavily inspired by Chrono Trigger to begin with.
16:39 the moment I saw Synchro Cyclone and how it goes when I went through my playthrough, it became my most used Synergy Attack because of how sick it looked by the end.
Best thing about is it gives you an unlimited mp for short time.

It's wild that I went damn near 200 hours with this game and made sure to unlock all of these (sacrificing smaller skills to do it), and yet I still am seeing a couple of these for the first time
6:12 - They showed this attack in one of the trailers, and it instantly convinced me that I was going to love Rebirth. Not that I had many doubts beforehand, of course ... but yeah, 10 out of 10 is completely correct. Some opinions CAN be objectively correct, and that's one of them.
This game really needs a practice mode, not even to practice but just to be able to show this stuff off.

Mayhem Go Round with Barret and Cait is my absolute favorite, It is THE crowd control move in this game, it'll effectively end any fight with lesser enemies as soon as you use it.
