When I hear the sweet melody of this song... it takes me back to the days of my childhood where we grew up watching The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins and wishing we could meet such an amazing person with a heavenly voice. God truly blessed this woman in order for her to bless us with her wonderful songs.

中学生の時見た「サウンド・オブ・ミュージック」
先生がこのミュージカル映画の中で1曲好きな唄を英語で覚えなさい！と言われた時、皆は「ドレミの歌」を選択しましたが、私は迷わず「エーデルワイス」を選択。以来このメロディと英語の歌詞は忘れることがありません。
劇中と違いジュリー・アンドリュースの唄声はまさに魅了されます。彼女こそ「ミス・サウンド・オブ・ミュージック」と言えると察します。彼女をライブでステージで一度触れたかったと今では残念です。
最高！ですよね。
ジュリーアンドリュースは、明るく健康で聡明で美しいマリアを演じてくれました。
彼女のイメージはマリアの演技として焼きついています。
これは女優にとっては難問で、なかなかそのイメージを払拭させることは難しいのです。
オードリーヘップパーンの場合でも、ローマの休日の王女様のイメージが強く焼き付いていて、そのイメージを離れることはなかなか難しかった。
でも、ジュリーアンドリュースにとってはマリア＆サウンドオブミュージックは世界の何十億人の脳裏に焼き付けられｄた人類の宝物でした。彼女の高潔な人柄は、盛衰のはげしいハリウッドに於いてもみじんも崩れることなく、素晴らしいアメリカ女性の理想を生きてくれました。
