I hate that the video distracted you from the song. That did a huge disservice to this amazing piece of art .
100% agreed :(
It adds nothing to the song and looks low budget, poorly acted, and just thrown together.
This video kinda ruined this song for me, which is why I don’t like watching videos unless it’s just the band playing. I want to FEEL the emotion of the song not some cheesy video based on a someone else’s perception of the song.
Always hated this video it really F**ked it up bad. The song holds strong with no lame director trying to get a name.
He gots to know ya know 😊
It came out in 75, but MTV became extremely popular late 80’s into the 90’s. So they made this video at this time. The song “Walk this way” is on the same album and RunDMC did a remix of the song with Stephen Tyler screaming the chorus…both versions were great and one of the first collaborations between rap and rock…
exactly
That collab was the first time I ever heard Hip Hop, because it played on the rock channel my mom listened to. And at 11-years old, I listened to what my mom did.
@@MiddleAgedBobI think that was the case for most rock fans
Bear in mind not only one of the earliest collabs, but Run DMC stated they felt _Walk This Way_ to be an early example of rap. I love how musical influences spread and cross boundaries, it gives us such great material to enjoy.
MTV debuted in '81 so there were no music videos in '75. But most bands/artists made them later.
It's really not that confusing. The song came out in 1975 And the video was added later in the 90's
Totally perplexed over that 😂😂😂
Thank you. We knew but I can understand the confusion.
Especially since MTV was no around until 1980 and concert videos at that time was really not a thing
@mikebzdusek8754 there were weekly concert videos in the 70's. Midnight Special and Don Kirschner's Rock Concert. You can find all the old videos on youtube.
Lol.. I was thinking the same thing..😂😂😂
Aerosmith has so many good songs from all decades! Rag Doll, Love in an elevator, Janies got a gun, Dude looks like a lady, Angel, ....Definitely continue down this rabbithole!
I love Dude Looks Like A Lady! You should have seen the look on my cousin's face the first time she heard me playing it. It was hilarious. She actually climbed over me to see what the song title on my laptop was. I was so bewildered. It was just a Aerosmith song. I'd been listening to them my entire life. Didn't see any reason for her to maul me. 😂
BP should also listen to Aerosmith's cover of Come Together. My absolute favorite version of the song (no offense to the Beatles).
Aerosmith more 70's - Chip Away at the Stone - Mama Kin - Toys in the Attic - Back in the Saddle - Kings and Queens - Last Child - Walk this way - Take me to the Other Side - Train kept a Rolling
@Black Pegasus - Please write down this list of songs, and when you have time react to all of them!!
Good suggestions, although "The Other Side" is from 1990, the "Pump" album.
Also Big Ten Inch
Everything from Toys in the Attic! The album's a banger, from starts to finish!
Correct, video was made during MTV heyday. The song is from 75. 🙂
Jerk chicken 😂😂😂😂 love Aerosmith! I agree with others Toys in the Attic was my favorite album! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Whole album was fire had on 8 track too later c.d vinyl too
@heartwork8318 Yes toys in the attic for sure with Rocks a close second.
Toys in the Attic was my introduction to Aerosmith
"Livin' on the Edge" is one of my childhood Aerosmith favorites, that I'd highly recommend being from a rap background. Trust; you'll love it!!
This video has little if anything to do with the original meaning of the song. Read the lyrics and find out what the line "you can't catch me 'cause the rabbit done died" refers to and you'll understand what the song's really about.
The song BOOMED multiple times. Dazed & Confused set this on fire again i nthe 90s
might be why he's getting the zztop vibe
I tried to live my life just like Dazed & Confused in high school. 🍻
The song off of Led Zepppelin 1? Dazed and Confused??
The movie "Dazed and Confused"
@@kylewhitt9608 luckily my HI Skool life was dazed & confused since I went the same time as the movie setting & in my Junior year 1980 I had a '78 Ttop Z28
Maybe check out Ragdoll by these guys P ?
Please no. Stick to the 70’s
The starting song of Dazed and Confused. One of the better stoner highschool films and with a smashing song list. Memories, man. Alright, alright, alright! That film is also set in the '70s, but made after this video was. It's all confusing, I get it.
MTV era plain and simple. They have put out a video 15 years later to catch the MTV wave. That was a big part of their comeback since they were almost done at some point. Im surprise that my dude here did not even make a deduction since he was raised on MTV time
I remember my son bought Pump and told me I had to hear this great new band. lol He played it for me and I told him they were not new. I was listening to them when I was his age. He looked at me like I was nuts. I walked over to a crate and pulled out all of their original albums. Told him to dust off the turntable and check out their earlier work.
i think you should do Aerosmith Rag Doll also Janie's got a run
Back in the Saddle and. No bodys Fault from the 70s Is very much worth Reacting to BP THE REAL A,S
Was featured on the soundtrack to Dazed and Confused.
Great movie
@@fran3675 which fit in the movie perfectly… The video takes away from the song instead of enhancing it ..
Also played at the end of the "Starsky & Hutch" movie with Ben Stiller & Owen Wilson
The song off of Led Zepppelin 1? Dazed and Confused??
@@createyour2831 all right all right all right, funny the led zeppelin song isn't in the movie.
Check out Head East-Never been any reason please
Damn good group you mentioned loved flat as a pancake album
Flat as a pancake album was terrific.
Great song!
I still have that 8 track & it still plays
That whole album is fantastic. In my opinion. It was their best. One. Toys In the Attic and rocks are my two favorite.
Song has appeared in quite a few movies & TV shows.
"Dazed & Confused"
"Starsky & Hutch"
"We're the Millers"
Those are the ones that come to mind but there's many more!
Check out the original Walk This Way before Aerosmith and Run DMC collaboration
CHECKOUT LORD OF THE THIGHS OFF THERE 2ND ALBUM GET YOUR WINGS... ALSO LAST CHILD AND BACK IN THE SADDLE OFF THERE 4TH ALBUM ROCKS 1977 ....
Not hard to figure out. It took them 16 years to get around to making the video. Walking in the Sand is my favorite Aerosmith song
I forgot about that one!!
You gotta review Aerosmiths walk this way both the original and their remake with Run DMC
They released a 3 Disc compilation of their older stuff, B-Sides and rarities called Pandora's Box in 1991 so they made a music video for one of their biggest hits from the 70s for promotional purposes.
Toss up for me for my fav Aerosmith tune.. Sweet Emotion or Love in an Elevator... Both BANGERS!
Elevator maybe my most unlistenable Aerosmith song ever
Oh yeah good stuff, best album Toys in the Attic. Love it and good memories. Thanks BP My brother introduced me to Aerosmith, he was 4 yrs older than me. Listen to Adam's Apple (might say r rated). My Brother passed away when he was about 25 or 26 yrs old, he had a wife and a new baby who was about 3-4 months old. He was having a good day then fell from 2nd floor construction head first. So music from the 70's bring him back to me. Your joy in it is joy for him to me.
Very sad you lost your brother but I love you found some joy in your memories and P always makes these reactions so fun !!!!
I am 68, graduated in 1974 this song came out when I was 19, loved it then , still love it. Funny note...I had to explain to my son years later what , the rabbit just died, meant! That's a term you never hear anymore. 😅
Sweet Emotion was featured in ARMAGEDDON. ❤❤
Only band I've ever seen that had three lives.
Both - the single was released in the 75 but the video didn't come out until the 90s.
I’m still waiting for you to peep the Aerosmith and Run DMC collab.
YES!!!
Yes!
This video totally wrecks the song.
They kinda ruined the song with this new video. This version is much better. ua-cam.com/video/xFWA0hiH9v0/v-deo.htmlsi=0Mgy7jXA6gdTy5W2
Toys in the Attic in heavy rotation when i was in the Army 1985 to 88
Just like piano man by Billy Joel. That song came out in 72. The video came out in 84... Bands wanted to capitalize on Mtv and made videos for their older hits... Especially after the success of Run DMC's Walk this Way another hit from the 70s
when it comes to 70s music never look up a music video, just look up the audio, because if theres a video its more than likely a later rerecording or a fanmade video that detracts from the actual music, some exceptions to this rule though are meatloaf, and queen, i think pink floyd made promo videos with some cool artwork too
Back in the Saddle Again, Walk this Way, Toys in the Attic, Draw the Line, Mama Kin, Same Old Song and Dance - all great 70's Aerosmith songs. 70's Aerosmith is their best.
Best movie intro this song opening Dazed and Confused. Definitely makes me want to smoke a joint on the fifty yard line in honour of your daddy Coach Conrad! SHOTGUN!!! check ya later
The song has nothing to do with the video that was made later on..... the song is about a guy going out and getting lucky with some girl he picked up, being lied to at some point and saying you can't catch me cause the rabbit done died meaning she got knocked up but he says it's not his!
The video is about getting fooled during phone sex.
MTV, the birthplace of music videos, didn't start until the early 80's so classic rock bands created videos long after the songs came out to keep them relevant. P.S. The video and reaction was great!!!
Mama Kin of their 1st album, No More No More off Toys In The Attic (2nd album)
Didn't have the technology to make the video they visioned. Fans wanted it
March 1975. Toys in the Attic is on the streets. Aerosmith, Rush, and (oddly) James Gang play the Fort Wayne Memorial Coliseum. This song, the rest of Toys, plus Dream On, Train Kept a Rollin’ . . . Insanity.
Train Kept A Rollin and Back in the Saddle Again are 2 bangers.
This is one song that never gets old, no matter how many times I hear it
You can tell this was from the '70s they still used a rabbit tests for pregnancies. Toys in the Attic was their best album Great reaction rock on
I saw Aerosmith for the first time in 1972 at the Surf Ballroom in Hull MA for $5.00 dollars. I became an instant fan of the band. I'm now 70 years old and own most of their albums. The one I go to the most is their second album, Get Your Wings. In my opinion, this is their best album. My second choice would be Toys in the Attic.
Great overlooked song from Get Your Wings is Woman of the World. My favorite album though is Rocks.
Aerosmith formed in 1970. I was 10, so I was 15 when this came out in 1975. Aerosmith was *huge*!
Dream On is not very representative of early Aerosmith. Sweet Emotion, Walk This Way, Last Child, Toys in the Attic, Nobody's Fault, Sick As a Dog .... Much better examples.
Um, along with Walk This Way & Sweet Emotion, Dream On is their signature song.
@@screwyootube1 Sounds more like the later hits that I can do without. Early Aerosmith was hard rockin'!
Such a great song. Such a horrible video. Why does every reactor use this video?
Aerosmith was and still is my fav back in the day tickets to concerts were like seven bucks so I saw everybody that came through try Toys in the Attic great tune great album
Toys In The Attic was my first Aerosmith album! Thanks for doing this BP!
The band (or label) needed something more than just a live performance for MTV, so this was made. Same reason for “Walk This Way” with Run DMC.
This record here is the real Aerosmith
🎊 You kids are under the WRONG impression that everyone made an MTV music video. MTV didn’t even exist before 1981‼️ When Classic Groups found out they could MONETIZE their old hits with MTV-like videos…record sales rebounded with a younger “educated” audience. (Simple marketing & math.)
Me yelling 1-900. 1-800 was toll free. Those chat lines you had to pay for. Psychics, girls, whatever. That was why teens got in trouble for sneaking the calls, phone bill ratted them out $$$$
Lol it's not complicated... the song came out in the 70's, there was no MTV or VH1. Bands rarely did music videos, the concept was brand new. Aerosmith had a bit of a resurgence in popularity in the 90's, and that's when they did the video.
70s aerosmith rocked so much better than 80s aerosmith
75 ( TOYS IN THE ATTIC ) 😊
70’s Aerosmith Rocks way better than 80’s and 90’s ..🤘🏼😆
Way more in the 70sThe 70s are under Rated for this same reason Has nothing to do with the 80s or 90s
@@theodoreritola7641 .. Not going to edit my previous comment .. Didn’t convey my exact thoughts in the comment, was talking about 70’s Aerosmith vs 80’s,90’s Aerosmith ..or Hard Rocking Aerosmith vs Commercial Aerosmith..
Videos, as we know them, didn't exist until MTV came along, so a lot of old, popular songs were released in video format, then.
It came out in 75 but early videos were mainly live performances. Bands back then did videos after videos became more popular due to success of MTV.
Posssibly the best pure straight up rock n roll from the 70’s! You have got to do Walk This Way, either the original or the Run DMC version!
There were no music videos in the 70's. That didn't start until the 80's (1982?) when MTV came online. This was back when MTV played only music videos. The first video: Video Killed the Radio Star
Love this song ✨🤩
Back in the '80's, I went to high school with a girl that started Donna's Phone Mates. She was a millionaire before even finishing high school, and she actually graduated. My now Sister In Law worked for her on the phones, she made a lot of money talking to men. She said they had scripts to follow, and every girl specialized in some kink, but guys were mostly "normal". My brother was a hard worker, but with his permission, this is how they paid for their wedding and honeymoon. It was different back then, it wasn't seen as cheating, it was just a job.
1-900 number. My son when he was a teen called this number, raked up a 800. Dollar bill. I was not happy!
Absolutely go back watch postmodern jukebox with Morgan James covering Dream on❤ Holy Moly is it a different song this way
song came out in 75. but there were no videos in 75. some bands went back and made videos for their earlier songs after MTV came out.
Steven Tyler wrote the lyrics to “Sweet Emotion” about guitarist Joe Perry’s then-wife Elyssa, whom he OBVIOUSLY did not think too highly of.
FUN FACT: There weren’t any maracas in the studio when the band recorded this song, so Tyler shook sugar packets instead. That’s what you’re hearing here on the finished track! ✌🏼😂
This song was off the Toys in the Attic album. There's a fun song on that album titled BIG 10 inch....Record.
Big 10 is a great cover of a 50s hit . Remember, another cover, ShangriLas
Yes! A stunning cover of a 1950’s song of double entendres!
The song was re-released in the 90"s. Check out the Dazed and Confused movie soundtrack for great 70's music
" you can't catch me cuz the rabbit done died" is a reference to the way pregnancy was confirmed at one time by injecting the blood of a supposed pregnant into a rabbit. If it died congrats you're preggers
Isn't 10 inch Record on the Toys In The Attic album? One of my favs!!
70's Aerosmith. "Come together" (music video, cover of the beatles)
If you really want some older Aerosmith, try Lord of the Thighs!
They didn't have music videos in 1975
We had 5 TV stations growing up. Heck of a lot more radio stations.
Aerosmith was at its top in the 70's. Listen to anything from the first 3 albums. That is some top notch Aerosmith. I personally can do with or without the Love in an Elevator and Dude looks like a lady stuff. Just to commercial for me.
You are familiar, your family just saying love your heart felt reactions 💓
It was an awesome decade when they peaked again in the 90s. Nostalgia! I remember a whole c-train car singing Sweet Emotion at the top of our lungs after the concert at the saddledome. Fricking MAGIC. This song was everywhere in pop culture.
A live performance would have been better or just the music alone - video was trash but we laughed at the twist. lol.
So... sounds like you're from Calgary? There were some great after parties in the 90's!!
The video pays homage to the movie " Risky Business " The boy talking to the woman are almost identical to the scenes in the film of Tom Cruise 's character talking on the phone to the call girl.
This song is consider a legacy song by Aerosmith along with a few others. Original release in May 1975. The original was remastered and re-released in 1991 in coordination with (But not part of) the Pandora's Box Set. The 1991 video was produced to promote the new release.
You got to remember no MTV until 1980😊
to make it easy if you want the good aerosmith look at the red greatest hits album and just pick one they are all great
Love Steven Tyler's voice. So unique. ❤
So, here goes my first comment on this channel!
Aerosmith was my first favorite band.. Somehow, this is my first time seeing this video and in my opinion it detracted so much from this classic 'typical Aerosmith at the time, song'
Very disappointing to me because again, imo, The way Steven Tyler presented a song, was a better visual than any video could ever attempt to be!
Watching the way he moved, expressions, sound of his voice and attitude, were enough to get across the 'sexy' of the song.
I think the video completely distracted from something that was already perfectly enough with the lyrics, rhythm, dirty guitar and presentation.
For me, the video was overkill for a song that needed no explanation! ❤️
When looking up the answer to your question regarding the length of time between the song and video,I came across an interest article...which in a way, makes "a little" sense when watching the video...Why was there such a long wait for the video that came out in 1991,and the song itself came out in 1975?! Because it was re-released in 1991 to promote their Pandora's Box compilation.
A video was shot for it featuring a young man having phone sex with what he believes is a beautiful young lady. At the end of the video, we find out she is a fat chain smoker with a few kids.
The story behind the song--> According to lead singer Steven Tyler, “Sweet Emotion” was inspired by tension within the band and their struggles with management and the music industry. The song was written as a way to express the band’s frustration and emotions at a time when they were feeling overworked and undervalued.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Tyler said, “I remember feeling angry, frustrated, and scared. We were making records, touring, and not making any money. The song was a way to channel that emotion and let it out.”
Their originals were written in 70s mostly about their experiences on the road doing gigs. This one about "backstage"/road s_x experiences that were common for rock bands. Dude Look Like a Lady came from road life experience. So alot of their 70s tunes translated well into 80s/90s music videos...and still would today imo cause some things never change.
They didn't have music videos in the 70's!!! So by popular demand a video for the song was made in the 90's........ this can happen with many other popular bands and songs, unless someone back in the 70's actually had and old fashioned Tape recorder and taped them in Concert live!
Ohhhhhh you gotta do Dude Looks Like A Lady.....LMAO
YOU WILL DIG "DUDE LOOKS LIKE A LADY " FROM THE 80'S ....BANGER !
Walk this way
Love this song lotssssss........ Sweet Emotions came out in the '75 (from the album Toys in the Attic) but they redid it for '91 (for the album Pandora's Box) and made a music video for it.
PS you should try reacting to a live performance for this song from the 70s it's way better.
They take from older amazing songs and throw clips into their songs..
Gotta do the original “Walk This Way”. Not the version with Run DMC. The Run DMC version is good, but not as good as the original version
So you need to check out their song Hangman Jury .
crazy, and later is buble gum aerosmith, lookat aerosmith before the red greatest hits ablum came out, "janies got a gun" and earlier
I'll add in my vote for you checking out "Walk This Way." Definitely a fun rocker from Aerosmith in the '70s.
