This is the process of how an orthodontic Hawley retainer is made. This retainer is made with glitter and magenta color. It is made from a polymer substance and a liquid monomer. Is it necessary to soak the model before adding separator? We were taught to do this so we get all porosity out so there are no bubbles in the acrylic.
100% gotta get the bubbles out. Some plasters have a lot of air pockets

Hey Greg. I'm assuming you mean fibered pink (vein) denture acrylic? Not as good. I have a fibered lucitone bottle with a wider tip for sprinkling so it doesnt get cligged
Hello, I received hawely retainers but the wires aren't covered as much and on bottom there's tiny hole where the wires is at. Bad texture. They're also causing pressure on my front two teeth after a week wearing them. Should I tell them to make me a new one?

Does the Retainer change from transparent to this?
I'm not an expert but my retainers are still transparent. They're like a light red (or pink) so it blends a bit better with my mouth. Hope this helped in some way

So, I tried this. Used the right materials. But in the end, the retainer ends up being too big to fit in my mouth. Like, it's too tight and can't just snap in, even if I grinded it down. Any idea on what I could've done wrong?
you have to wax out undercuts. if not retainer will fit like shit. way too tight and useless. takes practice i will make a video soon demonstrating what to look for when sealing off undercuts

Unfortunately we can't accept work from the general public. It's going to cost you at least $175. Maybe your Dr will discount it because it's broke?

We arent allowed to make them for the general public. Try visiting your local dental school they can probably help you out without breaking the bank. Take care of this asap. Its only going to get worse and unfortunately more expensive!

Yes. It is important so your teeth to remain in place so they do not shift after your braces moved the teeth.

Hi all, i really need help, i had my braces taken out in december and was given the clear retainers... unfortunatley i lost them withn a onth and due to covid, i couldnt see my orthodontist etc.... after a month, i got a hawley retainr and it does feel weird, my teeth have shifted a bit, the 2 teeth before the canines on each side have shifted... i was wodering whether my teeth can reallign with the hawley....
i really need some advice.. thank you
Keep wearing your retainer til it starts feeling comfortable again. Go to your Orthodontist. The Hawley can sometimes be adapted by them to straighten teeth. Or they can make you something that will realign them
