You can just put a small amount of wax underneath the plastic it doesn't need to break the model. Once it stood up, just make little adjustments to balance the expansion. It saves time. That's it.
In removable appliances it doesn't matter, but since the fixed appliance have to have the arrow pointing to the back of the throat I usually just follow the same rule with removable appliances
If your talking about the expander screw I order mine from here: www.jbcandcompany.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=372&cat=SKELETAL%2C+SECTIONAL+%26+Micro+Screws
How do you remove the pink plastic positioning segment after the acrylic has been cured? I try to wiggle it but I end up sawing it loose and it feels very tricky and takes lots of time.
when I take the retainer out of the pressure pot and remove it from the model. The first thing I do is remove the tab (pink positioning segment) before I saw or do anything with the retainer trimming-wise. To do this I take a pair of pliers (not ortho wire pliers, but pliers like in a toolkit in your garage, these have better "teeth") I grasp the tab with the plier as close to the acrylic as I can and " tear" the tab off using a front to back motion or back to front. Dont worry these were designed to be torn off. The plastic is very thin on the mesial/distal sides of the screw. then I do the same on the bottom (tissue side) If you can't get a good enough grip on this side, I wait untill I saw the split in the retainer, open the screw a couple of turns using the key and the tissue side tab is easier to get out with a scaler. I have a video of me doing this in the paid subscribers section of my blog DesignerRetainer.com I will see if I can get that clip and post it here.....
Your welcome, For anyone else out there with the same question, here is the video: ua-cam.com/video/MvMsjYIwxsU/v-deo.html I get to the removing the tab part around the 16:00 mark

how do you remove the plastic part when you are trimming and polishing?
Yes, after the acrylic is cured I use a pair of needle nose pliers and pull the plastic tab off

Hello to you.
How do u put picture s in acrylics
You have to do it while the acrylic is wet. Then cover with clear acrylic
what that expansion screw purpose is ?
Normalement le verain doit etre avant la coule'e de l'.emprinte
Please make wrapped around retainer
Realy helpfull video for me
why don't you just cut lower part of the plastic
THis is so the screw will remain upright and in the same place while sprinkling the acrylic
I have this on my retrainer i hate them
Sar mujhe hardum ke bare mein Bata de
👍 Oklahoma
Más fácil si le corta la parte inferior y no se pone a hacerle agujero al modelo
I like leaving the bottom uncut and embedding the bottom tab in wax that way it doesn't move around while applying acrylic.
awesome
