Thank you to everyone who has commented, shared, and liked this video! I'm amazed so many people resonated with these lessons. Any other topics you'd like me to talk about or expand on from this video? Cheers, DMS
37 year old here... Go at your own life pace. Don't stick with bad friends just because you've known them a long time. It's okay to do nothing some days. See your depressing moments as a good thing. It's your body telling you that you need a change.
In your 30s 1 Learn to say no 2 Learn to ignore things you can’t change 3 Spend less than what you earn and set some long term retirement goals. 4 Stop drinking like you’re 20 5 Be unapologetically your own person 6 Never stop doing things weekly that make you happy 7 If you’re spending more than 1 hour a day on your phone, you’re doing it wrong 8 Read more 9 Realise you don’t have to drink every time you want to socialise. 10 Exercise
I kind of have to disagree with. I think it should be more like; find a career path that you enjoy instead of working a dead end shitty job. Even if this career choice doesn't pay well. I don't like the fact that for most people LIFE begins after retirement... And they have that mentality.
Number 10 should definitely be number 1. Exercise is sort of the only "magic bullet" that we have, and it works through different aspects of our lives (focus, energy, health, mood, dating life, sex, disease prevention, motivation, etc.)
Okay facts but that might not be the solution for everyone.. 👌 it's like having a guide or instruction booklet on how to live ur life ? Nawww bro.. it's live and learn
Yeah but sometimes it's not the "job's" fault. Sometimes it's your mindset and expectations going into the job that determines your level of satisfaction and happiness. Sometimes you work with toxic people or people who don't support your person, but that's when you have to develop some resilience instead of running away and retreating or adapting to the situation/environment. Learn to be like water, but without compromising your values. Don't be agreeable all the time, but also don't seek confrontation with everything or everyone who you don't agree with.
As a teenager I hated school. In my twenties I blew off all responsibilities to party. When i turned 30 i realized what I idiot I was and finally began to mature. At 35 I'm planning to attend college for the first time. Life is weird and beautiful and I'm honestly just so thankful to be a part of it.
Thirty two here semi same story. Bad marriage involved. Make a plan, keep the faith. Some people like vision boards, I like plans and making it quests in my head. Set up what you want, set up at least 5 goals, add when you have more. I have 25 goals some physical like money and health, others mental. Fix what ever you can as soon as you can, also it's going to be lonely. We are going to have to work twice as hard if not 10x. It's not an easy route. We did this, we are the ones who can undue. You need to get serious. Though don't forget fun and dating if you're single. I don't know much people who date me, being broke and over weight, made when I get rid of the last 60 lbs, and get to a reasonable amount. If not a little hotter. Three things you can offer good looks, some money, charisma. I have charisma, I'm working on the other two. It will be slow, it will be long. I kind of a younger face, so hopefully I won't stick out to much, and hopefully someone will take pity.
As a teenager, I felt similarly. I struggled to concentrate and focus on a career path. I just took a job at a company that a friend a few years older than me was already working at. It wasn’t a high paying job, but i learnt some valuable life skills, and how businesses operate and how my Boss got to where he was, because he was a shrewd businessman and business owner. It certainly gave me direction in where I wanted to go in life.
When I turned 30 I thought it was over, now close to 40 I feel like I’m just getting started. I’ve reinvented my life multiple times since then and every time you feel more empowered. I want to die a young man at an old age.
At the age of 54 I gave up my secure government job and moved to Spain to teach English. Won't make a fortune but I get incredible satisfaction from seeing my students make progress and grow. I realised I must be doing something right when in my second year a kid I had had in my summer camp group for about a week came up to me in a school where I was covering for a sick colleague threw his arms round my neck and kissed me! I had obviously made an impact.

I couldn't agree more. Among the truck load of garbage on UA-cam, I am glad that I found something so useful. Please try to put more videos 🙏. To be honest, I always had similar thoughts and I am actually in the process of moving to a new country. And I just turned 30.
@@reubanrajan2679 thank you! Yes there will be more coming soon :) Just been hard at work on my business this past year. Congrats on making such a huge change in your life!
The greatest comments are the short one with lots of likes and make you physically smile and agree. This one right here. @alt_b the most true shit ever even created in the human Brian. More true than the dude on video spitting knowledge....... (as I exhaled smoke, while trying not to cough). Crazy
I’m 38 . Life goes fast man . It’s like graduate HS , bam boom , you’re in your 30s . I actually joined military, married, had kids, divorced, went to college, traveled , and did a lot of other things ... I still feel like I’m not where I want to be besides having done a lot . I suspect for some , no matter how much you achieve there will always be uncertainty and anxiousness . One thing I think about lately, is I’m finally realizing I can’t relate to “younger (18-29) generation as much as I use to . And it really seems wild when I meet say a 28yr old Doctor , or 30yr old pilot , 23yr old cop etc ; and I’m like damn , I am getting old .
Wow, this is exactly how I feel. I am turning 37 this year and noticed that I can't relate to people in their late 20s and early 30s anymore who I meet often in my travel groups. They seem to be figuring out stuff I already figured out,if that makes sense.Even more challenging is that most of my age mates have families now and I'm single and childfree in a conservative African country. I still feel like I have so much to explore.
The best job I had was the one I consciously chose to get. It was a retail job and I could have 'done better' but what I learnt is that I loved because I actually consciously decided and CHOSE to be there I think this might be the problem when people have a lot and have done a lot but they feel something is missing. I think the act of coming up with an idea, make it a goal, and accomplish it is the key to a good life. It doesn't matter what you want really, but knowing that you actually wanted what you have is gold. That you actually chose it. You can really own your decision, as opposed to wondering if this is what you want
Today I Turn 28 years old 💪 I needed to hear this 🙏 thank you for being honest and motivating us 🌟💫💪❤️❤️ God bless you blessings and prosperity to you and your family
I was the same got married at 30, separated at 36. Hard. I’m now 40 and in my second year in college. Was shitting myself but I’m doing it.❤️ Thanks I really related to this video. It has all working out❤️ Happy birthday 🥳
How does it feel going in college in 40? I'm about to turn 30 and thinking about pursuing a new direction, but I'm not sure I'll manage to finish it, and it feels like my time to study in college has already passed
Fantastic advice. You've truly inspired me to dive into my thirties with optimism. Part of my fear is that I (at 33) haven't settled down, ended too many relationships, quit too many jobs, changed too many careers, moved too many times etc. The search hasn't ended for me and I feel like my age has become a defining characteristic, not of who I am, but what society wants me to be. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom. I can relate to everything you've shared in this video and I feel a tremendous comfort in the fact that you've answered a lot of these tough questions yourself. I'm thankful that I could be a part of your journey, and thank you for being a part of mine. All the best/ Sebastian
Thank you for sharing these lessons. My thirties couldn't have started in a shakier way. I had recently refurbished my apartment in a new city and we ended our relationship before the pandemic greatly restricted my opportunity to meet new people. I was super optimistic about starting a new life and finally enjoying living in the city I loved so much. In the past ten months I have been alone so much. I teach online and I am barely able to see people apart from some friends. I hope 2021 will be a year in which I can put your tips into practice.
I am 29 years old about to enter my 30s. First of all, loved your video! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, pursuing this profession I got told "youll never make good money," "you will have to find a partner who makes more money," I did not listen to them. Now I am a Clinical Director and Do Private Practice on the side. Pursuing Private Practice and starting my own side therapy business was scary but I am glad I did , because now I make six figures a year and support my fiance completely financially while she gets through her doctorate program. If I listened to all the Naysayers I would not be where I am today. Looking forward to my 30s. :)
41, never been married, been single since brief relationships in early 20s, no kids and never wanted em, living as a lodger. I did quit my crappy retail job last year to become a full time artist though. Yeah people like to judge and assume I didn't do the marriage and kids thing due to being defunctional in some way when in reality i just never wanted to do them. I'm not your average joe, I know that much. I think too many people live their lives a certain way because they feel it is expected of them....rather than it being what they really want to do.
@@midsonshort oh i've done silly things in the past for the same reason as everyone else. Young and stupid and all.....but always been a bit different.
@@midsonshort Haha not sure about that. I have a broad Yorkshire accent so wouldn't do youtube vids where I am speaking....half the population of the world wouldn't know what I was saying and it sounds stupid when I try to tone it down too much lol...
I'm 28 and panicking about going into my 30s. This video was very much so needed. Seems like a lot of what you said is applicable to my 20s. Guess we just truly dont change all that much lol. The only thing that really changes is our exterior but the interior tends to remain the same...we just learn how to cope better with age.
I'm 36 with a decent career and just divorced . I felt like the relationship has held me back from so many things. Thank you for posting this video. It really gave me the mental boost I needed to chase what I really want out of life now.
So glad to hear that it helped. There is a lot of freedom in moving on from the wrong relationship. It's painful, but powerful. Wishing you the best moving forward. - DMS
Though this video is 3 years old, it is timely for me as I've been so restless at 30 and wondering why I'm not like others who are settling or "established". Thank you!
My brother is 39 now and he did a lot in his 30s. He’s moved in with his girlfriend, got engaged, got married, settled down, started his career, bought a house, and had a baby girl. I think he is going to 40 in a good way. I’m 31 now and have enough drive to be as successful in my 30s as him.
me watching this a 20 and I have figured most of these things out around 19 by listening to wise ppl like you, keep up the good work and anyone who is reading this age does not matter it's about the effort and energy that you put out into the world that matter the most
Im turning 28 this year and i always think about what my life will be in my 30s im worried and scared because of pressure.thanks for the sharing this video..
It's always the same, since 15, I always tought to myself: "Damn, people 10 years older than me got their shit squared" than I reach that age and realize. "nobody knows what their doing". I'm really lucky that now at 30, I have the opportunity to have my own business. Was really tired to walk in the fog but now I can see the stars.
I'm turning 30 this year and I watch this every time I'm down and it never fails to cheer me up. Thank you. I keep repeating to myself: your environment is your choice, your environment is a choice....
At 39 years old now, quit career job of 15 years in February. Sold some items from my place, gave some things away, packed my car, and moved to another state to start over, not even a job. Felt locked into the job and career for years and feared leaving. My God, it's the best thing I could have done for myself. New life and living in peace. I only wish I had done it sooner. You are so true; people will question your move because they have given up on seeking adventure in their own lives and expected the same for me. You have to follow your own path and take the leap unless you'll never know what's on the other side. The other side of fear is happiness. I'm a living testament of it. Yes, you go through your initial concerns at first, but keep pushing through as it is necessary.
Thank you so much for your sharing! I’m in my mid-20s and there are a lot of struggles. I love to listen how you went through your 30s. This somehow gives me power to be prepared to what will happen ahead. Hello from Hong Kong btw~
Thank you so much for sharing. As a person who recently turned 30, and probably would get a divorce very soon, I’m very happy to see this video before I sleep. I’m more assured and more confident as if I saw a mentor who has been there and done that. I’m less afraid for the coming years. Thank you again for the genuinity that is put into the video.
This video was everything I needed. When you said why are you not doing the things that deep down inside are important to you? Just do it!” I needed to hear that. Thank you.
Growing up, I did things my own way. School. Jobs. Always got punished and told I was wrong and treated like I had a problem. It wasn't until I was 25, after a life of misery I realized that it was actually a blessing. I've always just done my own thing and listened to my heart, after I cleaned up all of those early years of mental roadblocks. I was finally able to reach out and touch my soul on a daily basis. I've been able to achieve almost all of my dreams growing up. I was never worried about kids, careers, jobs, or families. That allowed me to avoid all the hang-ups a lot of people have about the world around them. Things that hold them back. Right now I'm 35, and I feel it's one of the best times of my life!
This was so impactful Daniel! You have no idea how much this turned my perspective around at 33. I just realized I’ve been having a “mid life” crisis and your video said the ONE thing that’s been on my heart about your environment having a major impact on where you’re trying to go. Thank you so much for making this video (although it’s years old) it’s STILL relevant!
This is the first video I've seen by you, but I'm blown away by how wise and insightful you are! Thank you so much. I'm 36 and taking all this to heart.
Some of these rules don't have anything to do with your age. I'm 21 and got great inspiration from you. As Alan Watts put it:" You're under no obligation to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago." Thank you for this piece.
Lesson #3 is pretty deep. I’ll be 35 in a few months and I’m in a relationship where I’m not sure if it will go forward. The hardest part is I love the person and so does my family but inside me something is missing. I have never felt as much anxiety as I had this past year and I keep telling myself that is just a phase and things will get better. I know I have to make one of the hardest choices one way or another but it’s eating me up inside. I appreciate this video 👍
Thanks for sharing! It's never an easy choice when to end a relationship... wishing you all the best and hope things work out in the best way they can. 😊
I'm 32, turning 33 this month. But how I needed to hear this, especially point number one. I've been going through a long crisis for the last couple of years, and sometimes the anxiety of my future overwhelms me. Thank you so much for sharing this, mate!
I guess I have a totally different perspective on the term "Settle down". I've never thought it as "settling for something", but rather in the way that an adult would tell a child to settle down. As in stop being irrational, speratic, hyperactive, etc. etc. For me I always interpreted it as "When are you going to stop being so chaotic, and settle/nest into a more stable/comfortable position".
Thank you Daniel! I just turned 30 this year and am feeling the pressure of settling down from the society. I totally agree with you they are just wanting me to be like them, to gave up. But I am not that kind of person neither, at least not yet. I want to pursue my goal. I appreciate you share your lessons and experience which is really helpful and make me more prepared for my next decade.
I do admit, I don’t agree with all your choices or pieces of advice. But your candor and openness is so blindingly fresh that I’m glad I stumbled upon you. I hope you’re doing well!
better late than never - 3 years later and this jam was recommended to me. It felt so warm watching it, as if talking to an old friend. Thanks for the video!)
Thank you Daniel! Good boost. Facing my fears and am reassured by this video dude. 33 and cutting the bullshit from my life. No more excuses. Thanks man.
This is actually rich advice and not vapid bs. So glad I went traveling around the world at 31 even though I was nervous I “should have been” buying property and settle down. Having those experiences has made me so much more open and exposed rather than hunkering down and closer to being the person I want to be! Now at 37 though, I want that home with a yard, fire pit, and cozy living rooms and cat room haha
#1 is what I'm going through. I'm 32 no kids never been married no debt, but everyone in my life has tapped out. The feeling being by yourself must turn into daily self improvement.
I'm 31 now and i learnt 1. Stop people pleasing, it doesn't work. You won't ever please anyone and you end up exausted and drained, used and abused. 2. Work on valueing yourself. If you truly dont respect yourself and start believing in your value, then trust me, no one else will and all the predators will gather in ur life to take from you and abuse your kindness. 3. Confidence is simply sticking to what you said you were to do even if it makes ur stomach turn. Do it. If you say it then do it. 4. Stop telling people about ur plans or your progress. Not everyone really wants the best for you. 5. Submit to God. Understand there is a greater power with a plan for your life. Nothing is random. Pray. Ask God for help and he will be your rescue. 6. Be grateful for everything in your life even the pain. Because pain brings wisdom. 7. Don't ever accept abuse or disrespect from anyone. If someone your with is mistreating you. Leave them. If someone cheats on you, Leave them. Dont stay and try to save the relationship. Block them and skip town. Refuse access to people who abuse ur kindness. Let people lose you. 8. You are not the exception, you are the rule. In this life there are success laws and if you apply them they will work on you and there are failiure laws and if you apply them, they will also work on you. Action causes reaction. If you stuff your face with junk food to feel better, you will get fat. If you stay fat you will get sick. If you stay sick you might die. Its simple not easy but simple. You are the rule not the exception.
This guy is a legend and this video is pure gold. This was recommended to me by the algorithm, and I have a feeling that this will go viral. Everyone in their 30s should watch this video.
Thanks Daniel! Just turned 30 and finding that there's a lot of advice for your 20s but not 30s. I've started working on my dream of becoming a fulltime artist when I grow up.
I just came from a video that said 30 and beyond women are "damaged goods" Dude I just turned 31 last January and broke up with my exes because we are not compatible because theyre always looking for validation from me. I was raised by my dad who worked LONG HOURS and is abroad 90% of the time while I was growing up and he taught me to be independent and have a healthy sense of respect for myself and others . And these men are telling me Im "damaged goods" just because I respect myself and I am independent Thank you. I love you(not romantically but as a person) Thank you for shaking me out of the "self pity shit" Ive created Sending you digital hugs from Manila You are a blessing to us "lost" 30 year olds. Thank you 😘
I am 19 years old and I loved this video. I know I'm young, but I still get the fear sometimes that I am wasting my life and get aging anxiety. This video helps me realize that no matter how old I get I don't have to ever settle or conform with a life I do not wish to live in anymore. It puts me at ease while still motivating me
I've seen this video a couple times over the years, I was 25, when you first made it now I'm 28 and life is kicking my ass. Lost a year to Covid like everyone else. And I'm the most lost I've ever been in my entire life. 2 years until I'm 30, which will be here and gone in no time. My friends have already settled in their careers, I can't even get my career started. Left college late and I'm bumming out the pandemic unemployed and searching for jobs in my field day in and day out and it just super sucks. This is just. Not how I saw my late 20's as an artist. I can't imagine the next decade, or 2 decades, jesus this is terrifying.
I feel you, my friend. This last year or so kicked all our butts. Me included. I promise you that you will find a way through this time. Even though things seem off track now, believe me they are leading you to a new unique path that will be better for you long term. Hang in there, keep pushing forward, and know I’m always here to support you if you need sometime to talk to. 🙏🏻
somehow all artists are ruined probably cuz they don't get their emotions intact, nothing personal. Check NFTs and blockchain arts it might be your future ticket. Don't do like the rest in NFTs now be innovative and u'll make it.
My life starts falling apart when i turned 30 and still is up to this time for more than 5 yrs now. What i learned actually is i don't give a f*** just let it fall as is.
39 here and i couldn’t agree more with everything you said. I appreciate very much your time and effort you put in these videos plus the added value of heartfelt, trully lived life lessons. Thank you. This is very inspiring. 🙏⭐️☀️🌈
Im an American living in Japan who will be turning 35 this year. I stopped drinking, got out of a relationship, and am now getting into a new job. Thank you for this video as I resonate and got a lot out of it! I'll be sure to revisit it from time to time.
So I turn 27 this week...i thought I'd get ahead by watching this video 😂 wow I'm so glad I did!!! So much great advice. I have learnt so much in my twenties already, can't wait to see what I will learn and be like at 40 😊
Thank you so much for sharing! I have just turned 30 a few months back. I’m struggling knowing that my life isn’t exactly where I would like it to be. I think that your videos [this is the first of yours that I’ve seen] really do help people. I’m one of them. Thank you!
Life has active and passive years, sometimes we wont be seeing much progress and sometimes progress would be staggering, we just need to accept life is a constant evolution and everyday will bring is closer to our goals in the way we expect or not
You have no idea how valuable this video is to me. Something here stood out that no one has said to me yet. I think it changed my life today. So grateful, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing. I also have a list of "things i learned in my 30s" but this sort of topics are rare in real life because everybody's attention is in mainstream topics and small talk. In my 30s I was doing so great I thought I'd never had to struggle again like in my 20. I am in my late 30s scrambling to turn the tables on two bad life events that happened, with the means and health I have left. I learned 2 things: Leveling up to meet new challenges never ends and Building a safety net is crucial. When things went south the safety net that my former self had put in place was key to absorb damage control and rebuild. Rebuilding in my late 30s must be done, even if my body and brain refuse.
Daniel, I saved this video to my playlist to watch today… was driving and listening to you - couldn’t wait to come home and comment. Everything you said felt so close to home it’s incredible how you nailed every observation. As a guy that’s 33, I realize how people around you want to put you in the same mold to feel secure about themselves. The way you qualified relations as being either a hurdle or a propulsion also blew my mind. Thank you for your courage to share, for your optimism and positive outlook on life and willing to teach others. I don’t give a f about Anthony Robbins - you are far more inspiring that him. I can definitely relate to you. Thank you my friend
I can relate to all this 100%, divorced aged 32 though, but things are moving much better and met the partner of my dreams who I can't imagine I'd have known if not going through and reflecting on my experience and learn my lessons the hard way. many thanks for sharing this with the world. And just as you said, things will not work out your way but will eventually work. God bless
Im 34. I've had depression and anxiety for 20 years and donenothing with my life. apart from having 4 kids, I've been at home almost every day and no job since I was 18. I think the key to being happy with your life and age is about accepting your life and not look at others lifes as examples and targets. We all have different issues and hurdles to get past, and we pass them when we are able or fated. Make your life targets around your own ability and opportunity. Screw what others done and are doing with there lifes your life is about you! Acceptance is key
Recently turned 37. Spot on video. Probably the most important point is the first one, people want you to be like them. The vast majority of people aren't doing what they want to be doing, and instead are doing what they feel they "should" be doing.
Came across this video, and you’re honestly a legend for posting this! Passing down knowledge and wisdom is one of the most honorable thing anybody can do and most people don’t haha. Thank you!
Learn to take the good with the bad because that’s life. Always keep those you cherish close and spend more quality time. Don’t look for love and relationships, let them come to you. Keep good friends, remove bad ones. Exercise daily and drink water when you wake up. Meditate and build a routine. Most importantly, try and see the beauty in every moment of your life, wear those glasses as often as you can; it’s the only real way to see this beautiful world. Never give up. Grand rise.
Hello, I'm turning 30 in a couple of weeks and this video has made me prepared now! I am currently back in school studying to become a translator, which is something I've always wanted to do since I was in high school but didn't pursue because nobody else around me did. I've been scared lately as my birthday is coming up soon and I'm kind of unsure if I'm going on the right path. So I searched videos on becoming 30 and came across your video! I'm not sure where I'm going with this but... I just wanted to say, thank you so much for sharing your experiences!
Lessons I learned, time goes fast the older you get! My twenties went at medium pace, my thirties...I can't believe I'm already 40 years old! The year I was 30 though was very enjoyable though, but the years after flew. My thirties went by like so quick, it seems like I wasn't even in my thirties. Now I wish I had gone to school in my 20s, cause life would be better now. After 40 a person should be at the apex of a career, making the most money, etc, now I'm starting over again after a lay off.
You are welcome Hasnain. You are finding your way at your own pace, so hang in there and enjoy the journey! We’re here as a community to support you! 😊🙏🏻
Happy 43rd Birthday!! Great video. I think you make a good motivational speaker. Your genuine intention to inspire people is clearly reflected, that's a mark of the best. Thank you!
Hey thankyou! Amazing it's been three years since I turned 40! Lots has happened since then. And thank you for your kind words, I hope to keep helping others through sharing ideas. Cheers! DMS
The 'settling' thing is so right - also important to remember (and often unsaid) that many people in their 30's hugely regret having children - but they can't say so (of course). 'Down to their level' using 'settling' is often their only option.
Hey man! Just about to enter into my 30s, feeling really content and excited about it, thanks for the help solidifying that idea. Keep up the great work.
Coming across such an inspirational video in my 20s is really great.. I'm gonna re listen to it until each of these 7 lessons sinks down in my mind.. Thank You..
Just came across this and it's so timely. Thank you so much. This helped bring me comfort!!!. All those points were golden. Especially people wanting you to settle down because they settled. The jealousy is real. WE still have freedom while although they did settle, aren't really happy. Loved "They dont want you to change but be like them". I see that more then ever. I enjoy the freedom of not knowing. Means there is room for opportunities, growth, new beginnings. 🤗👍✊ My Fav. LESSON #6 and #7❣ Really needed to hear those
I just turned 30 and am feeling a little lost. Your video really puts things in perspective and is very encouraging. Thank you so much for sharing !! 😊
So glad to hear that it helped Stephanie! You have an awesome decade ahead, don’t worry about feeling lost. We’re all a little lost in some way. Enjoy the journey! 🙏🏻
Thank you for sharing such raw and insightful details about your experience. As someone who is turning 30 soon, I have many thoughts and fears flying at me at light speed. Watching this video truly gives me comfort and help ease some of those fears.
There are so many people who live purposeless boring life is just so true! I just realized it recently some people really do live like that and I told myself I shouldn’t live like them! I can’t be like them wasting my precious time! learning nothing and doing nothing. Creating own community is really important. Just cutting off negative people so that to move forward in life. Thank you for your advices🙏
Thank you for this video. I’m in my mid-30s and not settled. At least I don’t have a partner and no kids (due to medical condition), and I have had friends told me that they wish they have my freedom. Some even said that they are jealous of what I have (freedom). I’m enjoying myself actually; however, I do feel drained by the external, conditioned pressure at times... 😅
Thank you to everyone who has commented, shared, and liked this video! I'm amazed so many people resonated with these lessons. Any other topics you'd like me to talk about or expand on from this video? Cheers, DMS
I feel sad about the divorce 😑
I want to hear ALL the lessons you learnt in your thirties lol!!
37 year old here...
Go at your own life pace.
Don't stick with bad friends just because you've known them a long time.
It's okay to do nothing some days.
See your depressing moments as a good thing. It's your body telling you that you need a change.
Agree 100% - thanks for sharing your perspective.
True 100%
Love this!
Lots of truth and wisdom here
I can relate to everything too
That was a great comment. It really makes sense and makes me feel better, take care.
In your 30s
1 Learn to say no
2 Learn to ignore things you can’t change
3 Spend less than what you earn and set some long term retirement goals.
4 Stop drinking like you’re 20
5 Be unapologetically your own person
6 Never stop doing things weekly that make you happy
7 If you’re spending more than 1 hour a day on your phone, you’re doing it wrong
8 Read more
9 Realise you don’t have to drink every time you want to socialise.
You lost me at #7.
I love my phone. I do everything on it.
Lost me at number 9, drinking is part of a lot of cultures. Just do number 4.
Don't stay at a bad job. Don't stay in a bad relationship.
Yes indeed! You only have one life!
Yes, I'm 27.
Difficult to do that when kids are involved.
I totally agree
As a teenager I hated school. In my twenties I blew off all responsibilities to party. When i turned 30 i realized what I idiot I was and finally began to mature. At 35 I'm planning to attend college for the first time. Life is weird and beautiful and I'm honestly just so thankful to be a part of it.
So true transition to 30s is a bitch, but now that I'm also in my thirties I'm grateful to God
You're amazing! Thanks for sharing! Same thing here. Tho I feel l've got a great experience with partying. So it's also my cultural capital
Love it! What a great philosophy 👏🏻
That's some good advice
At the age of 54 I gave up my secure government job and moved to Spain to teach English. Won't make a fortune but I get incredible satisfaction from seeing my students make progress and grow. I realised I must be doing something right when in my second year a kid I had had in my summer camp group for about a week came up to me in a school where I was covering for a sick colleague threw his arms round my neck and kissed me! I had obviously made an impact.
That's awesome Martin. Nothing better than following your own path in life. Wishing you the very best for this new life phase!
Martin! I'm doing something similar. I'll be moving next year to teach English.
you're a fucking god, and i want you to know i know that, it will mean something someday :D
That's amazing, congratulations! If more people had the same thinking as you, we would have less people making a living out of stolen money
It's always about what makes us alive is success, not what society says is.
1. People want you to be like them.
2. Fear doesn't go away, it just becomes more sophisticated.
3. Relationships will push you forward or hold you back.
4. Your actions tell the truth about you.
5. Your environment is a choice.
6. Things won't work out the way you want but they will work out.
7. Never too late to be who you are.
Thanks PJ! Great recap!

Damn, thats how i be feeling and i just hit 30. Ive got a kid on the way and so much uncertainity, im kinda used to being numb at this point.
Im a 28 year old doctor, and I dont understand what my interns are talking about.
It was a retail job and I could have 'done better' but what I learnt is that I loved because I actually consciously decided and CHOSE to be there
I think this might be the problem when people have a lot and have done a lot but they feel something is missing. I think the act of coming up with an idea, make it a goal, and accomplish it is the key to a good life. It doesn't matter what you want really, but knowing that you actually wanted what you have is gold. That you actually chose it. You can really own your decision, as opposed to wondering if this is what you want
Same (I don't have kids though)
This guy has gone through his life. He is more honest than other guys in 20s telling what a guy should do in 30s.

Talk about perseverance! Well done and big congratulations, wish you all the best!

Yes that’s true! A lot of the same issues and challenges are still present. They just morph into different forms!
I'm 36 with a decent career and just divorced . I felt like the relationship has held me back from so many things. Thank you for posting this video. It really gave me the mental boost I needed to chase what I really want out of life now.

Though this video is 3 years old, it is timely for me as I've been so restless at 30 and wondering why I'm not like others who are settling or "established". Thank you!

Super valuable knowledge. I’m 29 and actually looking forward to 30s
The best lesson is the awareness that people want you to be like them.
Linda Swift r u sister of taylor swift ?
Imagine having this awareness in your 20s

Glad to hear that it resonated for you! 🙏🏻
So glad it resonated for you Jazz! I’m glad that you are finding your way, and don’t worry we all many crises along the way! 😊🙏🏻

@@Obie1sand2s Thanks, mate! Happy birthday too, let’s make this decade amazing!
This is actually rich advice and not vapid bs. So glad I went traveling around the world at 31 even though I was nervous I “should have been” buying property and settle down. Having those experiences has made me so much more open and exposed rather than hunkering down and closer to being the person I want to be! Now at 37 though, I want that home with a yard, fire pit, and cozy living rooms and cat room haha
how did you plan for going travelling
Great point about the "not getting around to it" ...action is truth period
#1 is what I'm going through. I'm 32 no kids never been married no debt, but everyone in my life has tapped out. The feeling being by yourself must turn into daily self improvement.
In the same boat. Self improvement & checking off goals is a must. Focusing on health next six months and then moving to Miami
I'm 31 now and i learnt
Turning 30 in a few months. Definitely have learned some of these lessons already but there's a lot of great wisdom here! Thank you!
Thank you, glad it was valuable for you. Wishing you all the best for the next decade 🙏🏻

I just came from a video that said 30 and beyond women are "damaged goods"
Dude I just turned 31 last January and broke up with my exes because we are not compatible because theyre always looking for validation from me. I was raised by my dad who worked LONG HOURS and is abroad 90% of the time while I was growing up and he taught me to be independent and have a healthy sense of respect for myself and others . And these men are telling me Im "damaged goods" just because I respect myself and I am independent

Thank you for kind words!! I am so glad that they resonate for you, and wishing you all the very best! 🙏🏻😊
I have learnt so much in my twenties already, can't wait to see what I will learn and be like at 40 😊
I’m so glad it was helpful for you! Wishing you all the best for your 27th year, and all the exiting adventure ahead! 😊🙏🏻
Thank you so much for sharing! I have just turned 30 a few months back. I’m struggling knowing that my life isn’t exactly where I would like it to be. I think that your videos [this is the first of yours that I’ve seen] really do help people. I’m one of them. Thank you!
I'm 33 and everything you've said in this video feels really true and I find it very encouraging.
Life has active and passive years, sometimes we wont be seeing much progress and sometimes progress would be staggering, we just need to accept life is a constant evolution and everyday will bring is closer to our goals in the way we expect or not
I turn 39 in 12 days. This has really spoken to me. Hopefully, I can take the advice and apply it. The fear of being more sophisticated is so true.
Glad it was helpful for you!
Amazing advice. I'm 36 and really feel this. I've been in school til 34, so that also had an effect.
Thank you! Wishing you all the best for the next phase in your life 🙏🏻
When it comes to relationships, its surprising who ends up leaving, staying, and coming back later.
Just discovered this. I feel a stone lighter just hearing someone else say everything that I have been thinking for last 2 years (I'm 31). :)
Glad to hear! Wishing you the best for the years ahead!
So glad that it resonated for you! I appreciate your kind words and encouragement 😊🙏🏻
im only 17... I enjoy watching these type of videos and learning from those older than me
So glad they resonate for you! 😊🙏🏻 you have an amazing life ahead!
God bless
This video was delivered with divine timing. I’m 31, and really needed to hear this. Thank you sir 👏
So glad to hear that! Wishing you all the best for the future. Keep me posted on your progress! 🙏🏻
I agree that acceptance is a big part of finding peace. It sounds like you have found your place and I wish you the best 😊🙏🏻
This video is gold, thank you, I'm 34 so I needed this...
Glad to hear that! Wishing you the best for your 30's!
Thank you!
Aww shucks, thanks Anthony. Glad it was valuable for you. Wishing you all the best on your journey!
Grand rise.
Excellent insights! Thanks for sharing 😊🙏🏻
You’re welcome Candice! I’m so glad that it was helpful for you. Wishing you all the best for your 30s and this new exciting phase of your life! 😊🙏🏻
Wonderful inspirational speech. I'm 27 and not ready for life, but hopeful after watching this video, Thank you Daniel. :)
Cheers! DMS
@@midsonshort May your next 3 years be 3 times as expansive and (hopefully) fruitful! Good luck to you.
@@mindset2motivate747 thanks man, I appreciate that!
The 'settling' thing is so right - also important to remember (and often unsaid) that many people in their 30's hugely regret having children - but they can't say so (of course). 'Down to their level' using 'settling' is often their only option.
Yup, very true! Thanks for the insight!
Hey man! Just about to enter into my 30s, feeling really content and excited about it, thanks for the help solidifying that idea. Keep up the great work.
That's awesome Joshua. Wishing you all the best for the next decade!
Coming across such an inspirational video in my 20s is really great.. I'm gonna re listen to it until each of these 7 lessons sinks down in my mind.. Thank You..
Thank you Prashansa! Wishing you all the best for the years ahead 😄
My Fav. LESSON #6 and #7❣ Really needed to hear those
Thanks for being the most honest person in the world mate :D
Awww shucks! I don’t know if I can claim that, but glad that the ideas resonate for you 🙏🏻
I just turned 30 and am feeling a little lost. Your video really puts things in perspective and is very encouraging. Thank you so much for sharing !! 😊
So glad to hear that it helped Stephanie! You have an awesome decade ahead, don’t worry about feeling lost. We’re all a little lost in some way. Enjoy the journey! 🙏🏻
this is great advice as I approach 30, thank you, daniel
Thank you for sharing such raw and insightful details about your experience. As someone who is turning 30 soon, I have many thoughts and fears flying at me at light speed. Watching this video truly gives me comfort and help ease some of those fears.
So glad to hear that Rane! Wishing you the best for the next decade ahead. Enjoy the journey :)
Glad that you are finding a new path! Wishing you all the best 😊🙏🏻
You'd be surprised how many people who have 'settled' actually envy your freedom :)
Wow of course the UA-cam algo shows me this when I’m turning 30 going into the new year. Solid advice man
Thanks Jason. Wishing you all the best for your 30s! 😊🎊
I'm 25 but all this advice seems timeless and has really boosted me up! thank you!
Glad to hear that Petro! Wishing you all the best on your journey. You have a great future ahead!
