- ♥︎ HOWLER bike park! This is Missouri's newest downhill bike park! Let me know in the comments below how excited you are for this park, do you live close by? If not, it is worth the trip! Well... it will be in a few weeks once the "main" session line is open. Swayze Train was unfortunately closed when I went, but it should be over very soon (early June 2022).
In this video I make some big progression, and hit the biggest features I've ever done! More exciting things to come in the future. Stay tuned!

The wooden features on Taco A/B look very smooth and in some ways far less terrifying than the rocky drops you hit on Mustard Tiger. Sadly, it's all beyond my current skill level. But still hoping to make it out to Howler and get some good runs in on Stroller, Hippie Cowboy and maybe Swayze if it's bigger jumps have bypasses. (Don't have big travel bikes, nor the experience for big drops/jumps.)

I noticed the arrow drop has changed since the build video... it is somehow less phallic than before. someone circumcised the tip.

That higher speed drop, you have to pull up a little bit you dropped like a sack of potatoes off it but hey, you made it through🤙
Agreed, they made the landing a bit closer and taller since this video. Really easy to clear now, especially with a bit of a pop 🤙
That shuttle is like Hell Let Loose
Yeah the shuttle is Deuce and a Half, definitely a military use heavy transport. They get up the hill with ease 👍

It does! I didn’t even ride the green trail on this trip. I do hope they open a few more lines in the coming months though.

@@joebikes I heard about Howler from a lady riding here at a local KC trail and I got bummed, when I saw your video, I got more excited, its amazing when you get first hand info from someone who has actually ridden it. thank you for doing that. It's a shame I was stationed at Fort Wood back in 2003 to 2005, and now they have this and Bentonville. Well, I guess I better get ready for a Florida to Missouri trip.

So excited to have this, it’s just 15 minutes from my house! I really liked Mustard Tiger, but the videos definitely don’t do a good job of showing how steep it actually is. One of the trail builders actually let a group of us ride down the top part of Swayze Train, that trail will be amazing when completed.
Mustard Tiger is no joke, next time I’m out I’ll try and get some 3rd person shots that show how nasty techy it is 😅

Oh man did you crash on it?! It’s pretty poppy isn’t it 😅 I still need to conquer it myself, but I’m waiting till Swayze is open so I can really warm up on some jumps.
@@joebikes yea I finally had enough speed to clear it l, but nose dived immediately and ate it pretty hard. I'd argue that the double black drop line is easier...
this bike park is meant more for advanced riders. It's dicey for beginners. Went recently. Very dry. Lots of loose rock and gravel. Steep berms with lots of small loose rock and gravel. I fell twice in the berms, slid over in the turns, had a hard time negotiating the steeps and turns, what with the super dry surface and gravel, small loose rock filled trails and berms. I wouldn't recommend this park if you're new to MTB. A seasoned veteran, with advanced skills, you'd love it.
I do agree. If you're brand new on a bike, Howler is probably not the best place to go to. I would not say it's only for advanced riders though. The only trails I would consider advanced are Mustard Tiger and the Taco-Cat A option line. The rest of the trails are all fully ridable for moderate riders with no mandatory features. With that said, they definitely need more moderate trails, and trails to ride in general. They don't have a lot right now (they're working on more now). I totally agree the trails are loose though... that is the nature of trails in the Ozarks 🤠

@Joe Bikes I just picked up a Trek Marlin 6 ladt week. My last Trek got stolen last year and haven't ridden since til this last week. I'm going to order some letters and put book, chapter, and verse as you did. Great idea for myself but also for someone to ask and have that conversation.

Thanks! I use GoPro Hero 7 black. Very specific settings and placement on my chest rig to get the best footage. I personally like the chest position I use, it’s a more immersive ride that shows scale better.

I didn’t pull up at all my first attempt. Which was not smart at all 😅 fortunately it was just a big ol’ case… and not a nose case 😬

Haha, well there are 2 pretty chill lines there. Hippie Cowboy and a green line that I didn't ride that whole day 😅 it was a little muddy and not packed in yet. Should be golden in a few weeks once it gets ridden in. They are opening more in the coming months! I've heard upwards of 50 trails are in the plan! Lord willing they can get up to that number of trails.

@@dereklichtenauer7957 they’re saying by June 1st, that’s when I would recommend! Swayze Train, the main party jump line is nearly open! I was bummed it wasn’t open last Friday.

Yeah in this video they just opened! They’re looking more brand new lately, they’ve redone a lot of the trails recently… I’m planning a trip out there again soon 🤠

They do, just one green trail right now though. Most of Hippie Cowboy is pretty much a green also.

Or shut the hell up, ride the entire day and enjoy being shuttled, grab a coffee and burger at the grub station, and rip it with your friends. Yes, Bentonville is dope but it’s different riding.
