wow! just moved to tulsa and had no idea about these trails. what an awesome surprise.
They are incredible! Sounds like you’ve got some great riding ahead of you 👍 I will be going out for another ride and video soon! There is a new jumpline at the top parking lot that is a blast 🤠
I was like, I swear I know the mountain and forgot it's in my hometown where I still live currently, nice video man.
We used to build ramps like this in the woods as a kid those were the best days
Awesome video! I'll never moutain bike...eek...but awesome to see these trails in my hometown!
Thank you for this video! I’ve been hiking at Turkey for many years, but have never been a biker. I always think it’s so cool to see everyone ride downhill on the new trails. To see it from a biker’s POV was a really fun experience. Thanks for showing off my favorite place in my hometown
You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video. Hearing from locals like you is one of my favorite things 🤠
didnt know they are making more trails
You can even hear how much better everything is working. Service your suspension folks. Your bike will reward you for doing so. 😉
Agreed! The difference is night and day. I actually need to service this exact fork… and once again I have been putting it off for far too long 😂
Wild! I did my Lyrik Ultimate every 50 hours (lower leg), and once a year I do a full 200hr (seals, etc), same for rear shock (RS Deluxe) on my Giant Reign 29. Can feel a major difference after each service, I can't even imagine how much better your suspension must've felt after 3 YEARS of no servicing. 😲
Super nice! Also, what are those yellow pedals? They'll look awesome on my Nukeproof Scout I'm building! May Jesus bless your channel bro! Blessings and love from Cape Town South Africa!
Thank you very much! Those are Nukeproof Neutron pedals. Would look sick on your Scout for sure! God bless you 🤠
Woah! Those 5DEVs look SCHWEET!
I don't think I'm capable of riding any of these, but it sure is cool to see them in action!
Thanks! It took me a few years to get comfortable on big jumps and features. I had a goal a few months after riding: be able to ride the majority of trails at bike parks, and not injure myself in the process 😅 I am stoked that I made it there! And now I’m setting new goals to hit larger jumps 👍
I dont mountain bike, but I really love how their trying to transform turkey mountain to a good mtb destination
It’s a good spot for it 👍 you should try mountain biking sometime! You just might get hooked 🤠
@@joebikes Im a climber lol, but ive definitely been thinking of trying mtb!
Specs? 27.5 or 29. Your height vs the geo. Wheelbase?
I have it set up as 27.5. The frame will accommodate 29 though, which I will try eventually. The wheelbase is around 1280mm with the sliding dropouts all the way out. I’m 6ft 3in, the bike is perfect for what I built it for (jumps and features). It feels small and nimble for me. I’m excited to 29” at some point though 👍 Full build spec / review video will be coming out soon 🤠
You had to pay??
No paying here. It’s entirely free to ride… well you do have to have your own bike, which is not free 😅
I'm 186cm and all mountain bikes I owned by now, feel long to me! I even went 1 frame size down, and I still feel... stretched 😅 I don't ride steep angled bikes, just plain old XC geometry bikes! Budget of course, I can't afford anything good... Even with 30mm stem my 625mm top tube bike feels tooo long! I can't even imagine how much I would struggle on the bike with geometry like yours! If I had some money,I would order me a Jeff Jones bike! Short top tube! Yess😁 Greetings from Croatia from Kris 😎
Smaller bikes tend to create a more upright pedaling position which is great for cross country 👍 I personally like more aggressive geometry. It works better for my riding style. Very cool that you are in Croatia! Pretty wild how two people from across the world can connect in such a way online 🤠 have a good one!
@@joebikes Immensely cool! I'm on the bicycles my entire life, and I never owned a car! So, bicycle is my only means of transportation! As I'm growing older slowly entering middle age😅 my body has became very sensitive to the wrong geometry 😅 Greetings from Kris 😎 Have a great rides!
Love these trails, someday I'll get to Black Gold level, have you tried the sky jumps they just put it at the top lot?
You’ll get there! Nice and easy progression is the way to go. Don’t bite off more than you can chew 👍 And no I haven’t tried those jumps yet, they look like a blast though! I’m looking forward to getting back out there and riding them.
I drove six hours from Illinois to howler and was worth every minute
Sweet! They are so worth the drive 🤠
Best place to ride imo near bentonville is Centennial park in faytteville. Chunky and redrum are super badass and there really arent many videos on it.
Yes absolutely Centennial has some fantastic trails! I need to go out there and do some videos on those trails 👍
The metal flyover on Black Gold was set up as a drop when they first built it. They changed it before the trail was opened.
Wow I didn’t know that! 🤠 that would have been pretty cool to see!
Nice! Zingo was named after a roller coaster at Bell's Amusement Park. The park was torn down many years ago but was a local favorite for a very long time.
Wildcat was another Bell's rollercoaster.
Very cool history there! Appropriate name, Zingo is very much like a roller coaster 🤠
That’s such a sick line
This is a vibe
Now thats amazing, the bike and gear look great as well.
Thanks very much! 🤠
Didn’t even realize Ponca had trails
I love Bentonvilles bike trails. My kids will Spread my ashes there.😂
And I hope that is a good long way off 😅
Tulsa local here. I rode TM 6 days a week from 2010 to about 2017. I knew that place better than the back of my hand. I moved 20 miles north and haven't been in years. I watch it turn from a small, dirt turnaround of a parking lot to the place it is today. To see the trail systems they have now is great. I like to see they have bike-only trails now. I've almost killed myself or a hiker countless times. Great Video!
Thanks for sharing man 🤠Northwest Arkansas has a pretty similar story I would say. It is now unrecognizable compared to even 2017 - I mean that in the best way possible. On Turkey Mountain, seeing the amount of progress and trail development in just 2 years has been absolutely wild!
ua-cam.com/video/3U-m4q9GyEs/v-deo.htmlsi=K71ML_kwtG-v0hYS
Nice video. My top 5 are way different but I enjoy pedaling and don’t hate drops but don’t go out of my way to session them. Obviously we both love the castle trails as I see you out there at least once a week lol My top 5 would be: 1. Midevil 2. Jessie’s Last Stand 3. Rim Trail 4. Interplanet Janet 5. Blowing Springs (North Side) flow loop Honorary mention: Hammer Down & right across the street enter Red Barn 2 Barn Burner 2 Tristan’s which I think these 3 connected as 1 long segment is by far the best single segment in Bentonville Pretty cool we have so much greatness here we can both have a top 5 list that is almost totally different huh? 👏🏽🚴👊🏽
That is a great list! There are so many incredible trails in the area... no matter what you ride you're going to have a great time for sure 🤠 Linking up Barn Burner and Tristens is incredible!
All great trails, but I'd have to give Air Raid the top spot over Mad Hatter 🤘
Air Raid is so good! It's not too far away from Bentonville also 🤠
Nice! Why do you turn the wheel in the air when you do a jump? Does that help something?
It's for the steeze man 😅 but for real, it helps to get the back end of my bike turned a bit in the air - and at the same time - it's a mechanism that helps me be the pilot of the bike and not a passenger.
@@joebikes ohh ok I understand. I live around there so I’m thinking about trying it out. Might have to eat dirt a couple times 😂
@@Thezazaas Stay safe, start small and work up to larger things if that is what you want to do 🤠 find yourself a really small, low speed, low consequence jump that you feel super comfortable on. Repeat that until you feel ready to step up to the next bigger jump and repeat. Take you time, be smart, stay safe, and enjoy the ride! 😎
I love Fire Line but they really need to fix that pedaly section...and put in a couple wall rides!
Agreed, that middle section can be a bit pedaly. Wall rides just to the sides of the jumps are a fantastic idea! 🤠
@@joebikes Ever been down to Gregory Park in Fayetteville? They've got a couple fun wall rides there.
I'm not 100% sure but I believe drop the hammer is just a feature on Cease and Desist. My list is close, 1 Cease and Desist 2 Mad Hatter 3 Boneyard 4 Family Flow and 5 Air Raid unless you include Leatherwood my list would be a lot different
I am curious about the area in general, seems you may know it well. What is the word on Bella Vista(in general) ? What is the best area(not trail)in the area if that makes sense? TYIA
That's a great list! You could be right about the hammer... last I knew it was a separate section according to the trail apps. I hope to do more videos on best trails in Northwest Arkansas. A few trails out in Eureka will definitely be on that list 🤠
I'd add Air Raid to the list.
Air Raid is a great one! I didn't explain in this video, but one of my criteria was "distance from bike fest" and if you could pedal to the trail from the grounds. Air Raid is pretty far away from the festival grounds. That's a fantastic trail though and folks should definitely ride it when they're here! Air Raid sheds water well also 🤠
good list...I spend A LOT of time doing sessions on the top of Cease...plus Wild Fire repeats. Drop the Hammer is my number 1 yes, I get you say it's short but the first step up is so much fun after the drop
Hammer is one of the best session spots for sure 🤠
COMMENT! Do you agree with this list? What trails would you put in your Top 5? Thanks guys!
St.louis mo I want to go down to howler and try it out .
38lbs😃
Great guess!
Fantastic video, brother! So glad you got to experience the eclipse at 100% totality! Psalm 19:1 is one passage we read while we were in it.
Thank you Joe! So glad you and your family got to experience it as well 🤠 it was such an incredible experience!
What bike are you riding? It’s hard to see, love the black and red
Riding my Guerrilla Gravity Gnarvana in this video 🤠 it's such a sick rig!
ok markiplier
😅
Love the stars.
It was stunning in person!
If you liked this video, make sure to click that like! What would really help grow my channel is if you share this video with your friends and family 🤠 thanks ya'll!
I'm also hopeful that they do a paved trail back up like they did at Coler...so much nicer.
Medieval is the sh*t! (Now) Lots of fun berms and mid/big jumps. They've reworked the trail since this video. Cut out a few of the jumps. I remember when it was like this and I hated it because you had to be going at big speed at all times just to clear most of the jumps. It should have been called Case City when it was configured this way :)
Agreed! It is much better now 🤠
Skull Cracker...but im sure you figured that out 😂
Howler? Looks fun!
Yes this is Howler, and yes it's an absolute blast 🤠
Cool that you seem to be the only analog rider in the group. Love NWA. Heading back in May.
im new to mountainbiking i work about 15 min. from turkey mountain. cant wait to check it out
That’s great you live so close 👍 take it easy while you’re learning. No need to rush anything. And enjoy the progression! 🤠
Catapult feels like a roller coaster, so fun!
Yes it does! Catapult is a blast 🤠
I need to go back here looks amazing!
DO IT! It's absolutely fantastic and worth the trip 🤠
