  • I decided it would be nice to reflect on the past year of my skateboarding activities month by month and make a video for each.
So that means a series of videos attempting to fit in and describe what was happening.
I'm mainly doing this to make some diary of the year I can look back on in years to come but it's also a good way of filling in You viewers on what I've been doing in between the other videos I have already published.
I hope you enjoy the format please let me know what you think in the comments section below.
If you liked the video please hit the thumbs up and consider subscribing it will help me and the channel more than you know.

Amazing mate that vert ramp looks like bloody panic attack material! :D
Those bodyprox shorts showed up so I had a crack at dropping in on a 2.5 foot concrete mini. Took a good 40 mins to work up the courage, couldn't believe how scared I was. Glad I put thicker padding in on the upper hip as I ate it badly on all 4 attempts, 3 off the ass and one off the front!
Walked away largely unscathed, just not getting forward.
Your skin tone on this video is crazy red/pink - looks like maybe the vibrance was cranked right up judging by the colours in the background/the white balance isn't adjusted (which will result in ye olde red face!)
    Cheers Neil!

Thanks, Yeah very is scary but it's my way of trying to beat my fear of heights and its very slowly kinda working so I'll keep plugging away at it, Call it exposure therapy :)
Good on you for trying the drop-ins and I'm glad the shorts came in good use, Hard to say what could be going wrong without seeing but I would imagine from what you've said you might be standing up a bit too high, try bending both knees down lower as you go into the drop and reaching forward to touch the nose can help if you are falling off the back. Good luck, repetition will help you find the right feeling sooner or later.

@@NeilHesterSkateboarding thanks mate! I'm 6 foot 6 there is zero chance I'm getting low enough to the ground. 🤣 I noticed youre always phantom grabbing the nose, I also noticed people who are good aren't 'slamming' the nose as much as just getting well forward early. Honestly I was packing it so hard that I was thinking get forward get the nose down but in reality I was probably just throwing myself off in a flailing mess and praying 😅

Dude‼️ Good on you for even trying the board slides on the vert. That is wild. When you do get it, it is going to be gnarly. 💯% agree with what you said at the star of the video. A disaster needs some pop with solid 180 slaimg nack down on the coping. I see people kind of slide 180s into them. Thats not a disaster. Nothing disastrois is going to happen withoutnthe gnarly pop 😂.
But i am talking stickly from a spectators point on this one. I stay below the coping and just do slash grinds 😂😂😂.
Stay Raf Sir. Yup you just put May 2 up. I am way behind.

Thanks dude , gotta throw some things out there now and again to see how it feels at least then you have something to work with and improve on. The disaster things is a great example of more than one way to do a trick, the kinda passable way or the best way. I suppose at least the passable way is an entry point or gateway but it’s not the end of it and so many people seem to not try and clean them up and do them better which I’m quite a stickler for how they should look “style is everything” 😜
Thanks for checking out the videos I’m trying to get as many out as fast as possible because I have a lot of catching up to do too 🤣

I havnt skated vert since I gave up in 1990. I can’t even drop in on a mini ramp these days since I fell off hurting my foot. It truley is another ball game when you get older! 😂

I’m still scared of every single vert drop in I do, but I just blank my mind and ignore the fear to just get it done, not an easy thing to do but the desire to skate over shadows the fear, for now at least. The fear definitely gets worse the older you get but every now and then I get a breakthrough and work through it.
