Give up??? Lance did I hear right? With your pa as wing man, no way. I can't see both you guys quitin'. It's one reason I love your vids. This one didn't disappoint! Love what your tryin ' to do with this restore. And sure enuff by the end two cars 4 engines. Love it, never give up, give it your best shot. Cheers GREAT! ep can;t wait for part 5
The same basic PRV engine was used in some 90-92 Dodge Monaco's as a 3.0 liter. Drop one of those in and few will see the difference, but you will feel it.
And now you have two Delorean boat anchors, LOL I wrench on old clunkers everyday Lance, but... You are a far more dedicated guy than I am. Good luck to you all with this (these) projects.
its parts its not worth 5k maybe 1000 dollars body is rough its missing parts and engine is locked up. title or not i dont care. hopefully they can see how the engine is maybe rebuild the one from white purchase to fix red car or vice versa but if not careful you would be in it more than its value
Agree that guy Video BOB on YT would of Took it and they would have made great cash on the flip.If you need any parts im sure hes got them or can steer you in the right direction..Bobs a great guy.
Strip all that house paint off the new white one. DeLorean Houston has a guy that can fix even mangled panels, depending how bad they are. The panels themselves also pop up for sale for fairly reasonable prices pretty often.
Grind out the rotted aluminum and tig in new aluminum filler rod. Saw a guy on You tube doing it to Viper heads they where going to mod. He was using something like 70/30 argon/helium mix filling up the coolant passages on the heads.
Yeah and he's about the only guy getting that right now. Helium is near impossible to get especially since covid. He only gets it because of the things he's welding for the millitary. Then there is the price of helium. Better just welding aluminum like everyone else does with pure argon. Steve Norris got a youtuber hand when the welding instructor did those viper heads.
The white one is definitely a blank canvas. I recon he needs to be the mongrel of the DeLoren community. He’d look good in Midnight Metallic Blue, Mazda 13b Rotary and some gold aftermaket wheels (keep the wheels for the red one.) 🇦🇺🤙🏼 oh and the music is on point.
That is an awesome deal. It's all there. With small bit of work you could easily tidy that up and sell on for 15k congratulations lance. Smokin deal. Spray it I'm paint stripper see what it looks like. Them panels can be got, and you got two good front left fenders that's money right there
I told you in the first video to buy another. When my father had one back in the day they were rubbish and hasn't aged well. Thanks guys, great filming Christian....PS if you keep it purchase another couple of engines!
Excellent video as usual.I would actually get hold of one of those places that I see on UA-cam.That dips the motors and everything else.We know the motors no good, but just to see how much better that motor the pistons and everything would clean up.They would get paid for the content and so would you
I see people recommending TIG welding the block. By the time you heat those areas with the torch hot enough to form a puddle, it will blow a hole through it the size of a quarter. The aluminum is SO contaminated, it would require grinding the pits out to try and get to a clean base metal. You won’t find any, and you’ll grind into the oil passages. Oil soaked, oxidized, crumbling aluminum can’t be welded properly. If you’re lucky, the best you can hope for is a wad of black, porous globs that you can cover with JB weld.
Excellent video RESTORE Crew Wyatt :) , Lance :) nice found nice White Delorne Car plus 2 engine in low mileage hopefully and work's for best and what want!
I agree, for the embetterment of the car (heck both cars 😁) I'd get rid of those old PRV engines as well. Could probably find the GM V6 engines you need at a junkyard that will far outlast the PRV engines. But still, I am enjoying the series! Hope both cars can be brought back from the dead!
As a Delorean owner and lover, it’s so nice watching you saving these cars! Congrats for your work and passion. By the way I’m looking for a delorean lower crankcase so if you’re selling one and don’t mind to ship to France, I’m very interested. 😊
With gasoline in Brazil now having 35 percent alcohol, we need a car like this here in Brazil to use the Mr. Fusion and go back to the 70s to fill up with pure gasoline....:-)
Travis out 4 you should be able to make one. But,you’re going to have a bunch of money and time in it. Too bad people can’t be taken for their word. Just life in the fast line. I’m sure you and your dad can do it. Ever since anyone saw back to the future. I think you may have a market for it after completion. God Bless you all ! ✝️🙏🏻👍👊❤️
Well, at the very least, you have enough parts there to make one good car! My opinion for what its worth is I would use the best parts of the two cars and the available engines to make one nice restored and running DeLorean. And at least you know you have a supply of backup parts or maybe sell or donate some reusable parts to the enthusiasts cliub. And doesn't this just show that what you are seeking is also seeking you. You call out for an engine and the Lord sends two your way;)
First time I’ve heard or seen of you guys Just recently another UA-cam in Chicago got a delorean and fixed it up He got a hold of a group I believe it’s called deloreand Midwest and they have available and know of just about everything you can need for deloreans, info, parts, replacements, upgrades, performance, etc. Might wanna get a hold of them
There is a base liner / sleeve cylinder seal in paper in this engine , that available in France as spare , you can t make reassembly without the seal and check the gap between the top sleeve and the top of the block
That electronics panel looks like a surplus military plane panel that was re-purposed and some Back to the future type switches jammed into new holes. 😂
The PRV V6 is a boat anchor; weirdly, they do wake up once turbocharged- a guy in the Pacific Northwest rally-raced a Volvo with a turbocharged version and it was a lot more respectable. An LS swap makes sense in this case...
This car is not dead, it is sleeping. The second engine from the gentleman would be a good choose as it is in better shape and running before being pulled.
That flapper deal is called the Airflow Sensor plate that works off of the vaccum of the engine there is a piece of the Airflow sensor kind of in the middle that works a Pin in the Fuel distributor. Very similar to the old VW Rabbit Fuel Injection just has 2 more cylinders is all.
Holy Blind Body-man Batman!! That 2nd one looks like Ray Charles painted it with Glidden and a pine cone! I’d Wrap that thing with a brushed stainless wrap.
Hah! YOU bought that DeLorean? I was looking at it about 2 months ago but the guy wanted way more than I was comfortable paying for a wreck like that and I'd still have to haul it all the way back to El Paso so it was a hard pass, that's crazy to see it here lol. I'm glad its going to the right people
I love this DeLorean video keep up the great work❤❤😊😊! DeLoreans are hard to come by especially the vehicle! Thank you, for sharing this video on UA-cam to watch !! I love the DeLorean car from Back to the Future movie ❤❤❤!!
You can paint it metalic silver or one of the really fancy brushed stainless type finishes. From a few feet away it'll look great. Or, mix and match OG brushed stainless with painted sections.. would black and stainless look good??!!
Apparently, restoring a DeLorean requires extra patience and devotion. Hopefully, you’ll be able to pick out the best of the bad lot and assemble at least one engine. Other than that, I’m thinking a 3.8 Buick engine may be an option for a transplant.
i love your videos. always so interesting. and your family production values are top notch, being a teen of the 80s in Uk these deloreans were m y favorite car. And you have 2. LUcky man. But lots of work. But if anyone can make these beautiful you are definetly the family to do it. p.s i love your texan accents
That a true concern on Delorean as that bare stainless so when the car have been dammaged that pain in the a... to recover the original finisgh and also very costly
Evaporust (which is just watered down naval jelly) is corrosive, and like any other acidic or corrosive cleaner either turns aluminum black or worse eats it away. Years ago I was buying and reselling vintage small appliances and I used oven cleaner to try to clean an old waffle iron and it completely turned the aluminum griddle surfaces totally black which would not rinse or scrub off.

Man you have it bad! Maybe one day someone will start a DeLorean addition group you can go to. Until then, keep doing what you doing... Maybe you can restore one of these cars in 12 Steps?
There is a place that sells parts for those, it is actually Delorean Motor Company but of course with a new owner that bought all the original tooling and left over parts.
Yeah you don't put old aluminum in evaporust. It just eats the metal. The cars might be expensive but those engines are fairly available. Good decision on buying more engines. Hopefully one or both are good. I had no idea there were that many Deloreans still kicking around. Derek got one. You need to reach out to Legit Steet Cars here on youtube. He got a Delorean and completely restored it. He's got a lot of info. Can't wait to see more.
Nice work! Evapo-rust is a miracle for ferrous metals but eats aluminum alive. I learned the hard way.
I always thought evaporust was safe on all metals, showers what I know. good to know for future info
@@CandorPerlicious, yikes, me too…pays to read the can? lol…

Bless your hearts for having the knowledge and patience to work on that car!!!
The same basic PRV engine was used in some 90-92 Dodge Monaco's as a 3.0 liter. Drop one of those in and few will see the difference, but you will feel it.
And now you have two Delorean boat anchors, LOL
I wrench on old clunkers everyday Lance, but... You are a far more dedicated guy than I am. Good luck to you all with this (these) projects.
Every car can be a boat anchor, but every boat anchor cannot be a car.
There’s a guy in UA-cam who modifies forged connecting rods to fit the 2.8L PRV. Find him, and you can upgrade this engine during the rebuild.
Yes totally agree!
So, it's now "let's tear apart all 3 of them" engines episode????
It probably gonna be EPIC!!!!!
Another great episode. I just watched the Bush family over on the O'Reilly's UA-cam channel with Derek from vicegripgarage.
I love the DeLorean videos, just keep them coming.
Can’t wait to see more on it.
$5000 for a rough DeLorean 😲 is an awesome deal 🤘🏽🔥and it has a clean title!!
its parts its not worth 5k maybe 1000 dollars body is rough its missing parts and engine is locked up. title or not i dont care. hopefully they can see how the engine is maybe rebuild the one from white purchase to fix red car or vice versa but if not careful you would be in it more than its value
the value of a restored one can range from 80-250k but ones like that maybe 30k running driving and decent shape
depends on buyer and location as well
@@Michael-B41 You must be a newbie.

Glad you found and purchased more engines.. the initial one was toast!
That quite common in France as this engine was fitted on a lot of car
@@ced3098please keep them there...they are poor running weak powered junk.
@@ced3098we don't live in France though. Not sure what it costs if you have something like that shipped across the ocean
I can see all the love you put on that Delorean. I am following this zone.

That LTD was Nice . those Cars were like taking the Sofa with you.very comfortable.and I'm glad for the DeLorean update.

Loving this build nice 1 boys 👍👍
Have you talked to Derek at Vice Grip Garage? He LS swapped a running Delorean on Roadworthy Rescues and tossed the engine in his yard.
The hardest path is the most rewarding when it comes to these cars
Grind out the rotted aluminum and tig in new aluminum filler rod. Saw a guy on You tube doing it to Viper heads they where going to mod. He was using something like 70/30 argon/helium mix filling up the coolant passages on the heads.
Nuthing to it but to do it.

You should paint the second one all black, black tail lights, black headlights and put a KITT scanner in the front grill

All steel cap shall / sans plug shall be removed as that a problem on the PRV engine they pierce

Those switches behind passenger seat is controls for the Flux capacitor ❤
Trash that engine and get a GM 4.3 V6 engine.
Lance found the Flux Capacitor behind the passenger seat.
Agreed, this engine made no power and is plagued with issues.
Yeah, those 4.3 engines are excellent, and provide a lot of power. That would be my choice as well.
