A cool anecdote I picked up about L Ron and Jack Parsons - the two of them met, and having an interest in the occult, and particularly in sex magick al la Crowley in common, decided at some point to work together on a magickal operation (the magick with a "K" thing is a Crowley thing that he used to differentiate it from stage magic) to create a homunculus, which is like a magical being. It was all fun and games for a while until L Ron took her and all the money Jack Parson's had invested into their project and disappeared. L Ron Hubbard really was a prick.
