When l was a girl, I often wondered if my fascination with cemeteries was abnormal. Now I realize that it wasn't. There's something so calm and peaceful about them.
@@Mary-zx9bl I've also been fascinated by cemeteries and catacombs for most of my life. One day, and now thanks to you and Jessy, I will make a point to visit Saint Leonard's down in Hythe.
I love walking through cemeteries looking at the old graves. Looking at the born and death dates. Sometimes wondering what the person’s life was like. Very interesting.
“A grounds keeper let us in” - OMG this kills me every time you guys get access to something that’s off limits. I don’t know if it’s Michael’s sweet talking or Jessica batting her eyelashes on those big, beautiful eyes, but you guys always find a way!
@@BN-ym3fp They are lead coffins - the lead was the lining inside the wood; the wood has simply gone rotten over time so you can see the lead. Lead kept out smells and any toxins that may harm the environment and preserved the bodies for longer. 🙂
Huge thanks to the groundskeepers for allowing Mike and Jessica behind the fence and for allowing filming in the crypt. It's people like you that allow more history to be documented and told. In this case it also allows the Grimm Life Collective brand to offer that extra something.
Cemeteries and graveyards are very beautiful. They are a peaceful place of memories. Many of those buried in the catacombs likely have no one left to remember them. A very big honour to have the chance to acknowledge them, to see them. That on its own is beautiful. I’m sure nobody wants to be forgotten. ❤️ you guys are amazing. I love how respectful, how loving and how careful you are while visiting these lovely places.
This cemetery is indeed the best horror spot, it has something haunting over it, but also something magical. And you were so lucky the caretaker let you in! It's absolutely stunning there.
I was in London last August and did a special behind the scenes tour of Westminster Abbey. It included the area where they started to build a new area and discovered a 1500 cemetery for the monks. We got to see and there were skeletons all over with leg bones, skulls coming out of the ground . There were a few that were complete skeletons and one buried in a repurposed Roman sarcophagus.
Fantastic. I was walking through a 12th century church cemetary and found a knuckle bone. Handed it to someone in the church. She said she would place it with all the other bones that work their way up to the surface... Felt humbled and awed.
Again, you both have knocked it out of the Horror Fan Park!! You had me at the opening with the Vincent Price movie. I'm 60 and grew up on Mr Prices films. Thank you again for taking us along with you both and your treks.
You have a lot more respect for the dead than a lot of channels who visit graveyards. One in particular was shoving their arms into crypts trying to touch coffins. I got a 3 day ban from commenting after what i said about that on their comments section. Fair enough, look, but nobody needs to touch and i'm glad you don't do what others do.
even the actual caretakers are so respectful as to not even touch a cloth. They don‘t know the age or when it was put there but they still remained respectful.
I live in England. Everytime I see a medieval church, which is all the time - I still think Peter Cushing! Hope to visit Whitby some day. This channel has convinced me I need to go!
If there were more people around then it wouldn't happen. Michael did say it was quiet at the beginning. The two coffins under sheeting looked creepy ⚰️ probably very much intact aswell being covered over.

This was an awesome treat! imagine having autographs from all the actors in front of the church picture!? Am I the only one who thinks like this lol. Thanks again you too.
I lived not far from Kensal Green cemetery when I lived in London 20 years ago and never went in. Thank you for doing this video. I'm not sure I would have appreciated the cemetery had I visited back then. There's an expression that 'timing is everything' in life and I truly appreciated the way you could present this cemetery, its history, significance and nostalgia. My second thought was 'someone give me a lawnmower and weed hacker.' It's certainly not pristine but for the most part, it doesn't look vandalized. Hopefully this cemetery is respected.
I find it interesting because here in New Orleans we don't do lead lined coffins often because of our lack of space we want the elements to do their thing because we need the space for the next person who comes along. Bones are also common in the older cemeteries that aren't as well kept up or the families have passed and no one takes care of the plot/tombes.
Hi love, we have put the corpses in lead to prevent diseases spreading, apparently, but if you go in the ground you just go in your coffin ⚰. P.s I would love to go to New Orleans sometime...
Lovely to see your new videos made in our little country. Kendal Green is so amazingly historic and I can only hope that they work on restoring it to its former glory. Breaks my heart to see it so neglected. The crypt underneath was the star of the video. Amazing. Coffins down there 200 years and still resting peacefully. I wonder who they all were and what kind of lives they led. Thank you. One of your best videos xx
I sincerely love all of your videos, but I have to say that this might be a new favourite. This dense athmosphere within this exclusive trip into the crypt made me shiver. And still it is fascinating, informative and thrilling. Keep up this fantastic work and I am looking forward to meeting you two again some day!
This was something else. The coffins in the catacombs were eerily beautiful. Theatre of Blood is the first film i remember watching on the tele aged 4 in 1976 (i know that would be shocking to many in these modern times). The 'poodle' scene stuck in my head for years afterwards. Many children of my generation in the UK watched a lot of spooky stuff. It instilled in me an enduring life long love of the macabre, cemeteries, odd things, horror films. Thank you for visiting these wondrous places. Sarah..❤ 🖤
I just rewatched this again. Third time! This may be one of my absolute favorite videos. So many cool sites, stories, and history. I am blown away by everything you shared. I didn't want to leave, either, Micheal! Happy Halloween 🎃

Why did they use metal coffins? What was the reason?
As they are not under the earth ,a sealed coffin would be needed to keep the smell in.

This is One of you’re best video to date very intriguing seeing the coffins ⚰️ in their state like time capsule. Your cinematography/b-roll is outstanding, keep up the great work Grimms.
FYI drone shots would’ve been amazing !
This was an awesome treat! imagine having autographs from all the actors in front of the church picture!? Am I the only one who thinks like this lol. Thanks again you too.
You're not alone! 🙂🖤
Best one yet! Love this channel! This one was truly mesmerizing.
What an eerily beautiful and historic place. Thanks so much for sharing.
This would be so cool and fun to explore these catacombs! Thank you both very much!
Happy Friday Michael and Jessica I hope you guys are doing fantastic today, I am excited for another video
Very cool old place to explore would be lots os fun im sure
I find it interesting because here in New Orleans we don't do lead lined coffins often because of our lack of space we want the elements to do their thing because we need the space for the next person who comes along. Bones are also common in the older cemeteries that aren't as well kept up or the families have passed and no one takes care of the plot/tombes.
Hi love, we have put the corpses in lead to prevent diseases spreading, apparently, but if you go in the ground you just go in your coffin ⚰. P.s I would love to go to New Orleans sometime...

Another awesome video .. I know you wasn’t prepared, but the mobile phone lights added to the atmosphere it was great
Lovely to see your new videos made in our little country.
Absolute brilliant video there is something so beautifully haunting about London’s cemeteries. Superb filming as always. Loved it
Haunting video 📹! The Grimms Rock 🪨 🎸!!
This may be the most interesting video you guys have released. Well done!
My Dad was buried there. Did not even realise, all that was back there. Great film, love your enthusiasm.
Wow Holy Heck that's an awesome video Grimms I love it, and Micheal and Jessica honest truth the places you guys go are incredible 😊😊
How awesome!! LOVE cemeteries, the older the better. Love picking up the energies. Thank you Michael and Jessica 🖤💚
I gotta say this is the coolest video on yt right now.
I thoroughly enjoyed this.
THANK YOU
Can’t wait to dig into this after work. Surely, a masterpiece as always! Thank you for sharing as always.
So beautiful, cool and creepy. Thank you guy's again.
Sarah..❤ 🖤
Wow, amazing old cemetery...beautiful place! 🪦🥀
I just rewatched this again. Third time! This may be one of my absolute favorite videos. So many cool sites, stories, and history. I am blown away by everything you shared. I didn't want to leave, either, Micheal! Happy Halloween 🎃
Another wonderful video 🙂. I love your enthusiasm and appreciation of History and yes, Cemeteries fascinate me too 😉👍
This episode was amazing! Great job, guys
I love that nature has taken over and the fact that is all decaying...like we do when we die. It's all somehow comforting and soothing watching this.
Another awesome video. THANKS
