Thank you for making these videos which make me understand the other sides of HK. We are local we bought government housing schemes home, we buy foods in wet markets and enjoy beaches here. So, we may not know the situation of expats.
It can be affordable. Individual items aren't more expensive than things in the UK, US or Singapore but even so, the money runs like water there. Everywhere you look there are so many places to spend money and so many attractive things you would want to buy, it's almost impossible to go out without parting with some $$.
All depends on different situations of persons. I personally can’t accept the weather of UK where I ‘ve been live on and off for many years. Sunshine n beaches are the most important things to my stay .
The UK is a political mess suffering an economic downturn, while Hong Kong is ruled by a dictatorship that's in economic collapse. It's managing to be one of the few places worse than the UK.
@@Ccb88888 nah man! Bristol is rough and expensive. The wage is appalling. Public transportation, job opportunities(white collar jobs specifically), varieties of food, weather, taxation, safety, international travel, entertainment, property price . It’s not even comparable to HK. In general, UK is quite f****d.
The pandemic made things worse almost everywhere, but despite that most cities still remain more affordable than Hong Kong because of Hong Kong's insane property costs. It's like that because of their superficially low income and business tax rates. The government stays funded by selling land as the land ownership model has not changed since colonial days.
Why would you still want to be in Hong Kong when you said HK is not suitable for living, like the boy want to live here there few months?? There obviously some perks and benefit compare to your home countries. If you spend 90% of your salary from 50000 hkd a month, you still have 5000 hkd as saving, will you have this saving if you go to a less expensive country, no.
Hong Kong has been on and off the #1 spot for decades now. This is no surprise, and regardless of the pandemic and political crises in recent years, Hong Kong's basic MO has been the same. Low personal and businesses taxes, enabled by the continuation of the colonial government land ownership system and the resulting astronomical property costs.
Yeah you all have a choice to leave so you do not care about changing the system which the locals are desperate for and fought for. Making a better home has become a threat to the national security.
This doesn't make sense, if they really didn't like it and didn't care, they would have left. These expats stay because they like the place. Hong Kong is expensive because *people want to be here.*
@@canto_v12 The stay for enjoying the white supremacy and making money. They left after they have had enough. Live what the locals have been living, then you can say something.
Depends on how flexible you are with employment and commuting. Yes, you can find "attainable" (not "affordable") housing but for the working class who can't WFH, it's a terrible rat race to be in, and because the borders are closed they can't just "move out of town."
Do you think Hong Kong is too expensive to live in as an expat? How do you manage living costs in your city? Let’s talk about it!
Yes, UK is wet and cold. London is broke. Sad.

That person just want to travel for a few months and can’t think of any place to live 😂
Hong Kong is a much better place to live, in comparison to the UK.
Oh, I definitely agree with you if we are talking about Hong Kong and London itself!
Compared to London-yes. But compared to other British cities like Bristol, Nottingham, Edinburgh or Durham - give me the UK any day…

The cost of living is getting higher everywhere in the world. I am from Hong Kong and live in Brazil. It's the same here.
How did you end up in Brazil? 😮
IMO london is more expensive
The cost of living crisis is just the same as any developed economy unfortunately

The guy who wants to leave Hong Kong just wants a sabbatical 🤣

Sounds like he needs a vacation more than a new home.
Local food and local restaurants are a lot cheaper ! expensive to buy imported food. Local wet markets are convenient and value for money.

What are the most stable jobs please?
banana is one of the cheapest thing you can buy.

HK is the best place for a single man, very easy to go out for party and hook up girls.
The most expensive city is Singapore. Please fact check.
Expats calling western migrants..non western calling them migrants workers 😅
