I bought one the other day. The screws holding on the screen had one screw missing and one screw stripped out. Just poor workmanship? Will have to retap for 4-40 screws in that. I did the electronic mods to it. Removed the switch board as recommended. Now to the mechanicals. I need to figure out a shock isolation for the mic cart. None of the mods address isolating the mic element from the rest. It is mounted hard onto the base, so any small touch of the mic comes out as noise. I took the baffle off the element of a 219 but for the time being I will leave it on the 319. You could unsolder the wires from the board without cutting them to remove the resonator as I don't want to get anywhere near the diaphram with a hot iron!
Don’t get why ppl remove the inner screen… the most expensive mics have three layers of it and nobody removes one or two layers of then. Total head scratcher
