A huge increase in sensitivity, eq balance and clarity with the mod. It really sounds like something costing 5K!
i just got my mk-319 at a thrift shop, along with an sm58, for 20. dollars. which was unreal. seeing all these mods are cool, but I do feel like it doesn't seem totally worth it in my opinion. If you have fun with it then by all means one should go for it, but the difference in sound is there but it doesn't quite become "better". Anyways, super neat!

I think the mod is okay. The modded 319 sounds clearer and a bit more dynamic. The CM3 sounds great as well.

The real difference I notice are the lows are improved greatly and it sounds a little more open. Mids sound about the same on my impefect monitor setup.
It was definitely worth it, but only you can tell if you "did some shit." (I'm not sniffing around in there.) I want to mod one of my 319's, but I am not so brave with a soldering iron. I love the sound quality improvement. So open, and so natural.
Thanks for the video! Really nice piano playing. I liked the original 319 the most of the three. I've got a 319 with michael Jolys floating dome mod(IIRC both premium electronic mod & something done to the attachment of the diaphragm). I think it sounds good but it's very sensitive to low freq rumbling and bumps to mic stand etc. Now I'm a bit curious for the original 319
Thanks for your comment. The bumps from the mic stand are a standart feature of mk319. Bass rumbling - something is wrong... I am gonna mod my pair of mk012. I will post it here. Right now the package got stuck in the post.
With the mod I heard more clarity in the decay when finished playing and not so much while playing.

Mic needs a mod to isolate the cartridge/element from vibration of the whole microphone, no one addresses that problem and I will DIY my own cartridge isolation fix when I figure out details.

Ah man! I think I got a fake.. I recently purchased two of these, comparing with a 220 which has the same capsule, but dual. One of the 319's is significantly darker than both the 220 and other 319. I think I may have to bookmark this for future use if I want to use these as overheads..

By creating and applying modes you abuse mic's creators. Every creation is designed and created the way it is , like a child being born. Every company is proud of its creation. If you are so smart- go ahead and create the best mic from scratch!
Sorry, but this is non-sense. Everybody knows about the poor quality of Soviet electronics.
Everything can be improved - car tuning, processors tuning, straps on electric guitars neck, mics included, these are no piece of art, but just electronic device. And the mod works for this type of application quite well, is for sure cheaper than selling the mic and purchasing a different one with some characteristic which has been achieved with this mod
no, I'm gonna be smarter and just put a small effort into something that already requires a small effort to make it sound good for my ears
go and grow your own seeds and bake your bread, because putting cheese on your bread is abusing the creator
