TX native here. I have spent around 3 years time in Morgantown since 1980. It's amazing. It's so much better than TX. Unfortunately it's also poor compared to here. I wish I could afford to stay there all year.
Great! There are many people that retire in the area. The weather is great here. Winters are not to bad and summers are not terribly hot. There are many options for inside and outside recreation. There are two hospitals, so medical is never an issue.

I recently retired in July and I’m considering making a move . I’m considering renting for a year or so and seeing how I adjust then look into purchasing possibly. Thank you for your videos .
I live about 1 hour away from Morgantown and would NOT live there if You gave me a nice new Home , free utilities, free taxes and a luxury car. Morgantown SUCKS. Tell me about The crime rate, Drug trafficking ( it's a main Hub ) and college student illegal activity. In Sunnyside section, it is a common site to see rundown housing and the weekly Burning couch or recliners and beer drinking out on the side walk along with Zombie student passed out from the HUGE Fentanyl trafficking . Don't walk away from considering Morgantown. JUST RUN AWAY, as fast as you can !
I am really sorry you feel that way and had such a bad experience. There are many areas in Morgantown and outside of Morgantown that are great with low crime rates. I was a police officer for 13 years in Morgantown, Wheeling, and Charleston areas. There are good and bad areas like any city or town.

Yes, there are several. Every time I turn around there is a new development or something being built. 😊 Morgantown is a growing community.

Absolutely! We have several people that retire to the area.
FYI military retirement pay is not taxed by the state.
