When you are holding shift your character is being careful to not fall off ledges and stuff so when you hold shift on a magma block your charcter is being careful by stepping on the already cooled stone instead of being careless and stepping in the magma

I know this is an older video but I think a neat way to show elytra health would be to replace the EXP bar when it's active like how a horse replaces it with a jump bar.

Some people might know this but if you eat a chorus fruit while flying you will of course be teleported a few blocks but you will always be teleported to the floor. Which is great for landing safely with a elytra

If you could load music discs into jukeboxes with hoppers you could use them as a hopper clock if you had longer and shorter records.
you can lock shift on, in the settings you can find “toggle crouch” or whatever it is so you only have to press shift once and you’re locked into shift without holding it and to release it you just press shift once again, just as if you were on console.
This was made 3 years ago, when that option didn't exist yet.

Even if that was a thing 3 years ago, it'd be annoying to use toggle crouch in most situations so you'd have to go into the options every time you want to change it. I mean like when you're caving it's less convenient to use toggle crouch.
@@Erkle64as someone who uses toggle when building and hold for exploring, not having to go to options every time would be very helpful. There was been a number of times where I have gone exploring and forgotten to switch it back to hold, and then had trouble in water or getting off a horse or something.

it'd only work for a certain amount of time though, but the more emeralds you had the longer it'd last. 1 single emerald the least amount of time, 128 emerald blocks you can lead them a good way away

For moving villagers just hit the trade key as far away from the villager as you can and it'll walk closer to you. That allows you to move them faster and less annoyingly than a boat.
So useful. Along with a little bit of moving them by tempting with workstations, it means its like completely no items villager moving.
Crouching has a toggleable option in the settings. I love it as a toggleable action as having shift held while multitasking as we all do in dangerous situations is more work than is necessary
the magma block as i see it is lava and rock. so if you are careful when stepping on the rocks and the rocks didn’t conduct heat you could walk on it. so by sneaking you are taking those extra carful steps

Yeah I'm having trouble seeing what he wanted changed. It's a cool mechanic. It is super useful in player/mob traps and whatnot but you can still use the magma blocks underwater for air bubbles. Idk, maybe when this was uploaded Mumbo hadn't fully realized the mechanics and potential of the way magma blocks work.

We have the ability to send records through hoppers on bedrock addition
The magma is alright. If you shift you walk slowly, and you kind of watch your steps and only step on the rocks instead of the lava veins in the block.
yeah, the fact that can manually tiptoe across magma to avoid damage is really cool.
The rock is enough to make your skin melt off your feet and stick to it.

In accessibility settings, you can change your crouch ability from hold to toggle. I did that and it has exponentially decreased the amount of anxiety I get when bridging through the end to find end cities.
When you said Minecraft was a dark game I thought you meant because you are being constantly hunted by zombies, skeletons and walking moss monsters that explode when they come near you in a world where cows are mutated to the extent that they look like mushrooms, but no. Light sources.

Which ones did they add?
All tweaks implemented (at least partially) as of 1.16.1:
1: beds and respawning - the inverse of his idea, where instead of sleeping without setting you can set without sleeping
3: rotating blocks without breaking them - the debug stick does that and so much more
9: sneaking without holding the shift key - go to accessibility settings and set sneaking to toggle.
16: placing redstone dust on piston without it breaking - you can now do that, but only if you place the piston facing downward.
25: an easy way to move villagers - you can take advantage of their fears (such as zombies and illagers) and workstations, though these only help so much.

I think that with the mag a block one, when you crouch it’s as if your being more careful and therefore steeping on the little brown rocks in amongst the orange lava parts of the block. I do agree with it being a dodgy game mechanic yet it does seem reasonable when you think about it.

that's what i use it gets kind of annoying in online competitive when you accidentally push it but overall it is great
it also makes swimming annoying bc you have to constantly toggle it on and off to go up and down in the water
3:46 I’m a controller player (I play on PS4) and it is incredibly useful to be able to lock yourself into the crouching position!
Personally I find it annoying, but that may be because I am not used to it. On Java, if you really want that you can simply change it with accessibility settings.

Honestly, I didnt agree with most things here. I few select things were really smart and intuitive. However, the rest of the tweeks conpletly contadicted that.
Microsoft quite frankly does not care. They are turning minecraft into a bigger money pit with every update. Take the better together update for example

I think the Elytra durability bar should be on the level bar, while you are flying with it.
Beacons that can turn off mob spawning in a certain area, would be so awesome. Maybe can only have it when building the pyramid with netherite blocks only. yea that would be very VEEEEERY expensive, but I think for a survival world that would be fit.

Being able to make lava source would be great in creative, but in survival it would be overpowered because you could just take a lava bucket and use it as fuel, forever, never have to mine for coal.
would be really awesome to have the spawn system as Rust, just put sleeping bags around the world and you can spawn on which ever sleeping bag you choose from a list of beds or sleeping bags that you have and already spread around the map
I wish there were upward hoppers because we can only place hoppers that go down at the moment
We have sideward and downward hoppers but I agree with you!
But with the aquatic update, items swim on top of the water so you can make a simple item elevator that has the same funktion as upward hoppers

I agree with every single one of these! I've thought about almost all of these, and it's cool to see others have concerns about some of the same things!
The torch one is GENIUS! That should have been a feature long ago since players hate mining in the darkness and placing torches every 10 blocks.

All of these can be implemented via mods; most of them already have been. For example, there is a mod that allows clicking chests through item frames and signs. Also, toggling shift has since been implemented in vanilla.
They should add a "dispenser" that places blocks when activated (solid blocks as well as water and lava)
It could be called the 'Placer'
They should add a block that shoots the blocks you put in it, maybe it should be called "dropper"
As of 1.15, you can now go into the accessibility settings and hit the button called “Shift: Hold,” changing it to “Shift: Toggle”
To be fair, I don't think they expected SEA LANTERNS to be used with Redstone.

It was disabled as a “bug”
You can put discs into Jukeboxes and deactivate the elytra by tapping space bar again all on bedrock Edition. Also, redstone doesn't pop off. This just goes to show the bedrock Edition is better. ;)

You could also just put your chestplate in your hot bar and quick equip it to disable flight and if you want to slow down, do the same but then quick equip the elytra again
Mods aren't vanilla though, and the HermitCraft server is a primarily Vanilla server with some fun plugins.

3. Since 1.13 we have the debug stick in Creative which can change block states. Still lacks it in Survival though.
9. Since 1.15 there's an option to turn sneaking into a toggle so you don't need to press shift all the time.
12. In 1.19.4, there's finally hopper and dropper support for jukeboxes!
15. We still can't move lava source blocks, but there's lava cauldrons which can be pushed by pistons.
16. Since a few versions ago, redstone can be placed on the top of downward-facing pistons pistons.
18. There's no spawn-proof beacons, but a mob switch is much easier to build now, with zombie villagers, duplicable shulkers and distracted wardens as three great options!
20. Although we still can't place block downward, there's a clever way to use the crawling position and trapdoors to place blocks downward. Really useful in a skyblock world.
21. Since 1.14, redstone can be placed on top of most transparent blocks, including glass and sea lanterns.
25. Since 1.14, villagers can be attracted by work stations during the day, and beds at night. Still a hassle to move them though.
Mumbo: Shifting and not taking damage on magma blocks doesn't make sense
