I just put my order in for a transparent 5.5 with 128ssd and thick body battery.... I've had it in my cart for months and I've been dreaming about it... as soon as I had the extra cash I bought it. I am so so so excited! I wanted to ask you if maybe possibly in the future, would Bluetooth ipods be a possibility of something you may have available? Or if we already bought an ipod, could we send them back to you for the Bluetooth mod to be put in? In any case, I couldn't be happier with my new pod! I'm so excited to get it. I love your work, thank you for everything!!!

The way iFlash say to stick foam pads in the instructions, shows them sticking it on the sd card holder and the sd card. This ensures the sd card cannot slip out accidentally, the way you do it also accomplishes the same task.
That’s how I originally did it, I found it to be far less effective than this method.

Have you tested the maximum storage that can be put into every generation of iPod? We all know the maximum for 6th and 7th gen, but have the older iPods, like the 4th gen, been tested?

It should but there will be a lot of extra space you should probably fill with something like an extended battery.

Returning my iPod touch I just bought and ordered a classic for the same price
I installed a replacement clickwheel on my 80 gb 5.5th gen Ipod Video white but the center button feels a little sunken in. I have heard there is supposed to be a rubber piece that goes underneath the center button. Does anyone know where I can get a reputable used original white ipod video clickwheel? I would rather buy a used original Apple clickwheel set then a new reproduction because the plastic feels off on the fake ones. The piece was not from you though, it was from a random seller.
I had a problem with my sd card drive not working intermittently and a new ribbon cable did the trick. My scroll wheel was going crazy so I installed a new one and it was fine then all of a sudden it will let me reset with menu and select but won’t let me go into diag mode, disk mode, and it won’t scroll and none of the buttons work. But again it will let me reset with menu and select so I know the wheel is good. Does the same thing with the old Wheel. swear this thing is cursed

Possibly a stupid question but I’m v new to the community. I’m repairing by first cheepo broken 5th gen from eBay. In the future I want to upgrade to a 5.5 64MB, so I can store more music. Can I just replace the logic board with a 64MB 5.5 version? Or is the logic board not as “hot swap” as I’d hope it is? Thanks for all the helpful content and love your store ☺️🥴
Yes, you can swap the board. You’ll have to restore / factory reset the iPod during the process. Be warned

Does your 5th gen motherboard have the Wolfson DAC ? Also, are your replacement parts GUARANTEED to fit perfectly with original Apple iPods?
Yes. All iPods videos have the same Wolfson IC and Yes.

Wondering if you're still in business? I purchased the parts to essentially make a new 5th gen back in September. Got the parts and put everything together. I had some glitches and Austin responded in a timely manner and helped right up to the point he stopped replying. I still don't have the iPod working and have gotten radio silence since Nov 30, 2021, when I last heard from him. I've sent 3 emails since then and tried using the contact form on the website. Crickets! I need some help here as I still can't get the iPod working.

How would i go about putting a metal faceplate on a 5th gen?
At you suggestion, I followed the instructions in this video to the letter. Everything is plugged in just like in the video. My computer does not recognize the iPod and all I get on the iPod screen is the message that showed up in the video when you plugged in the battery to test the screen. The only part that is not new are the click wheel, midframe and screws. All the other parts came from you. Need some help here.

Thinking about ordering one. How long into the future would this last?
I bought one from Elite Obsolete. I got the 5.5 gen so I did need to buy an old 30 pin to usb cord, but it's got 128 gigs and that more than enough for me. On his site it's described as brand new, as opposed to the refurbished ones he does that he doesn't flash drive mod. My 5.5 gen is literally brand new, every single piece has been replaced with a new one. It's stunning, works amazingly, and gives me dedicated music so I don't keep killing my data plan listening to music on my phone. I think if you got his new ones versus the refurbished ones, it would last you a long while. And they're soooo beautiful. And he also has replacement parts on his site and vids for all of them showing the replacement process. So if one thing breaks you won't be SOL. I hope you get one and love it as much as I love mine!!
