Thanks for this workout. Today (Aug 13, 2023) is rain on and off, so time for an indoor video. Participated in an 8 week in-person once-a-week exercise class with neighbors where moves were slow and similar to the moves with Yes2Next. This is what I needed. My PT said I need to try to alternate slower and faster workouts to not overdo it with my hip until I my movement is appropriate. This helped after a weekend of long walks and resulting pain. Thank you!

My doctor wants me to get my heart rate up but I have a hard time checking it and it doesn’t go up much but I love these exercises and I should probably do them twice but after once I’m tired do you have any ideas how to get my heart rate up and how to check it.
Tracking your heart rate can be done in several ways including: 1) using a wearable on your wrist that can track your heart rate; 2) Recording your pulse at rest manually - using two fingers to feel your pulse for 1 minute on the inside of your wrist or front of your neck and then doing the same during exercise to compare the two; 3) the Talk Test (more on this later). Federal guidelines say that to gain substantial health benefits, adults should do at least 150 to 300 minutes a week of moderate-intensity physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes a week of vigorous physical activity. For moderate-intensity physical activity, your target heart rate should be between 64% and 76% of your maximum heart rate. You can estimate your maximum heart rate based on your age. To estimate your maximum age-related heart rate, subtract your age from 220. For example, for a 50-year-old person, the estimated maximum age-related heart rate would be calculated as 220 - 50 years = 170 beats per minute (bpm). The moderate intensity range would be: 64% is 109 bpm and 76% is 129 bpm. For vigorous-intensity physical activity, your target heart rate should be between 77% and 93% of your maximum heart rate. To figure out this range, follow the same formula used above, except change “64 and 76%” to “77 and 93%”. Phew! With all that said, the Talk Test is a simple way to determine if you're doing moderate or vigorous intensity exercise: Hearing your breathing, but still holding a conversation can indicate you're doing moderate intensity exercise, such as a brisk walk. Getting only a few words out between gasps of air can indicate you're doing vigorous activity. Great job on exercising...doing only one set of exercises is fine. As you get stronger, your endurance will improve. Stay with it! 👏

Thanks for this workout. Today (Aug 13, 2023) is rain on and off, so time for an indoor video. Participated in an 8 week in-person once-a-week exercise class with neighbors where moves were slow and similar to the moves with Yes2Next. Was so good to be in the presence of others while exercising! How lovely to have a mix of online and in-person workout times.

This is what I needed. My PT said I need to try to alternate slower and faster workouts to not overdo it with my hip until I my movement is appropriate. This helped after a weekend of long walks and resulting pain. Thank you!

My doctor wants me to get my heart rate up but I have a hard time checking it and it doesn’t go up much but I love these exercises and I should probably do them twice but after once I’m tired do you have any ideas how to get my heart rate up and how to check it.
Tracking your heart rate can be done in several ways including: 1) using a wearable on your wrist that can track your heart rate; 2) Recording your pulse at rest manually - using two fingers to feel your pulse for 1 minute on the inside of your wrist or front of your neck and then doing the same during exercise to compare the two; 3) the Talk Test (more on this later). Federal guidelines say that to gain substantial health benefits, adults should do at least 150 to 300 minutes a week of moderate-intensity physical activity or 75 to 150 minutes a week of vigorous physical activity. For moderate-intensity physical activity, your target heart rate should be between 64% and 76% of your maximum heart rate. You can estimate your maximum heart rate based on your age. To estimate your maximum age-related heart rate, subtract your age from 220. For example, for a 50-year-old person, the estimated maximum age-related heart rate would be calculated as 220 - 50 years = 170 beats per minute (bpm). The moderate intensity range would be: 64% is 109 bpm and 76% is 129 bpm. For vigorous-intensity physical activity, your target heart rate should be between 77% and 93% of your maximum heart rate. To figure out this range, follow the same formula used above, except change “64 and 76%” to “77 and 93%”. Phew! With all that said, the Talk Test is a simple way to determine if you're doing moderate or vigorous intensity exercise: Hearing your breathing, but still holding a conversation can indicate you're doing moderate intensity exercise, such as a brisk walk. Getting only a few words out between gasps of air can indicate you're doing vigorous activity. Great job on exercising...doing only one set of exercises is fine. As you get stronger, your endurance will improve. Stay with it! 👏
