Great video. Thank you! I currently have 2 Frozen Shoulders. It started 9 months ago. Couldn’t dress myself at all or drive or do much of anything (that’s improving now). Horrendous constant pain for 7 months straight, it’s also improving now. My tips; Tip #1 for anyone with 2 frozen shoulders. Sleeping in a hammock can help as it supports your arms and shoulders. Getting in and out required help (and hurt) but I got hours of sleep (finally). #2 A Boomerang pillow (V shape) helped support my shoulders. Also a separate dense cushion placed along side my body helped support my arm/s in the right position in bed. Tip #3 For laying down (on a mattress/lounge) if you can position your body (laying on side as much as possible/comfortable) in a way that your body pressure/weight falls on your hips (not on your shoulders) that helps lessen the pain. We have 2 lounges, one has a flat seat (level) and so (when laying on my side) the weight falls on my shoulders - ouch! But the other lounge has a slight tilt downwards towards the backrest and so my weight (laying on my side) falls on my hips which means I can rest more comfortably and it’s my best chance to get some sleep. You can’t really see which way a lounge seat falls, it’s a case of trying it out for yourself, just lay as close as possible to the lounge backrest (on your side as much as possible/comfortable). Tip# 4 My Rheumatologist told me to take good quality Tumeric tablets (rather than Chemist pain killers) because Frozen Shoulder pain lasts a long time. The long term taking of painkillers (Neuromol etc) affects your Liver. Tumeric has no negative effects. Tip #5 Last tip, a TENS machine ($39 from Aldi) has been my best investment (cheap too). I wear it under my clothing. It helps with both the Frozen Shoulder pain and the Tendonitis pain. A real winner! All the best with your journey. We will all get through this 👍😊
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and tips with us. We hope that our exercises can be welcome additions to your already well established routine :)
I had frozen shoulder in my mid 50s (pre the era of helpful youtube videos) - it was THE most painful and debilitating injury/condition I've experienced. Thx for the time and effort you put in to these vids.
I wish I'd had access to these videos/exercises when I had a frozen shoulder, which took almost 3 years to fully resolve. The pain and debilitation associated with this condition was horrendous, and even though it was work-related my claim was declined and I was told it was age-related (I was 52). I worked in a public library with lots of heavy lifting crates of books and processing books, I suffered from bursitis in both shoulders multiple times over my 16 years in the library, ended up having to change jobs. I really feel for anyone suffering from frozen shoulder it is very painful, and with the pain keeping you awake at night it's just an ongoing misery. Thanks guys for all your free, super helpful videos. I really appreciate you.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and experience. We are extremely glad to be of help with our videos, and we also appreciate your kind words and support :)
I got a frozen left frozen shoulder and then about 3 months later got a right frozen shoulder so double whammy two at once! It really affects your quality of life and is totally horrible pain and just misery day after day. Pain meds did not target the painful spot...a steroid injection did not help in the left shoulder but did on the right one. Trying to do simple taken for granted tasks like doing your hair, getting dressed and even wiping your butt extremely difficult. I found massage was something that made it feel good and as I worked in a hospital only had to walk down the corridor to go to the physio. I didn't miss a day of work which was probably helpful. The pain lessened over time but it took two years for the range of movement to start returning to normal. I saw a shoulder surgeon who wanted to try surgery but I preferred to hang out for a little longer to see if it resolved. It did. Trying to sleep at night was difficult as you just can never get comfortable. I feel for anyone with this miserable condition and I will never forget that pain!
Thank you for sharing your story as well! Operation isn't often suggested for Frozen Shoulder, as it has a natural tendency to recover on its own even if it takes quite a long time.
Thanks for your comment; I agree with all you say. My Dr. denied I had both shoulders frozen same time. He did say it would take 18 months to unfreeze; an osteopath helped immensely. Consider a bidet attachment to normal toilet.
Does a frozen shoulder radiate to the middle of the upper back? I get pins and needles and cramping, particularly when standing for long periods. It also travels up my neck and on top of my upper arm. Thank you for these exercises. I do find that they help.
Hey Julie, It’s difficult for us to comment on specific individual circumstances as we can’t be there to assess you in person. We would recommend checking with your local physio or GP if you have any concerns. We will keep your question in mind for our future content. Thanks for watching!
Is it ok to continue doing plank exercises while suffering from frozen shoulder?? I do mobility exercises to help it, but I'm not sure if there are any exercises (like planks) will make it worse.
We recommend that you use your symptoms as a guide for any type of exercise. Just like your mobility exercises, if you can tolerate the movement and load, you can continue on!
Great video. Thank you!

Thank you Alicia and Brodie for helpful education and exercises, to support this difficult condition. 🙂

Goodo. These do help. Starting slowly, low number of repeats.
Great to hear, keep up the good work!
