@@davemacomber1035 definitely! I'm gonna use it. Also, tracking the whole frame is brilliant. I usually just rough point track the muzzle to a null. Do you lock layers after you finish an effect? I've had issues with things sliding because of accidental button press when something is highlighted and I didn't find out until the end. But that's only for long, vfx heavy previzes.
Amazing stuff, thanks Dave! Btw, if you like Masktracker+ you should definitely try MochaAE plugin (bundled with AE CC) and MochaImport+ from the same developer as MT+. This will may give you even more speed and flexibility for different types of tasks! Thanks again, subscribed for more Stunt+VFX/Mocap videos!
I definitely make use of both Mocha and MochaImport -- but for me masktracker is the fastest for the quick and dirty stuff. Double click, hit track, done.
So cool that you're doing these, Dave! BTW, ALT+[ and ALT + ] are among my most used AE shortcuts, but I can't find anything similar in PP. You know, when you want to trim a piece of footage to the cursor on the timeline, just like you would with an AE layer. Do you know a shortcut that will do that? It's probably my biggest PP annoyance. Looking forward to the next video!
Hey Lori!!! Q and W are your friend! In Premiere, if you hit Q on the keyboard, all clips will be trimmed before the timeline marker to the end of the previous clip (this gets a little more complicated if you have tons of layers, but you'll get the feel for it pretty quick). If you hit W, it will trim everything to the head of the next clip. Massive editing timesaver -- I only discovered that a couple of years ago and it was life changing!
Aaaaah, thanks! I'd actually tried those a while back but gave up because the clips still move on the timeline, the new trim point doesn't stay put where you have the CTI like in AE. But all I have to do is get used to thinking a little differently. Definitely going to save me quite a bit of time, thanks!
@@LoriLinstruth Ah! I see what you're after. Try Alt Q or Alt W (it's option Q or option W on the mac) to trim the clip to the playhead without ripple editing.
Thank you for sharing your workflow with us! I’ve definitely just picked up a few shortcuts from you to help me speed up my process!
Thanks so much for doing these! Really insightful getting to see your approach.
Awesome, Philip! Glad you liked it.
Totally didn't know you could replace clips by holding ctrl. Brilliant!
It's a funny little thing that saves SO MUCH TIME. :)

@@thetachisly Only sometimes -- and typically only after I've bumped it! But not as a rule, no. Probably should be something I work into the workflow.
Dig this a lot.
