  • Figuring out how different the left side was from the right side and they were both comparably close. looks like we'll be doing clutch plates
I have an updated video where I follow the manual and adjust the brake bands

The tracks adjust by adding grease at high pressure in the zerks on the longitudinal adjustment rod.

Thanks, I bought the little needle nose greaser and it doesn't work super well. I need to grab me one of those button cap ones

To tighten the tracks I will use a bottle jack and jam it in horizontal somewhere so it pushes the idler forward. Jack it tight then pump the grease in. Help quite a bit for me.

The 3 bolt cover under the hydraulic tank that you show in the video is where you can adjust the brake band. It is a detented bolt and requires a 3/4 wrench.

Do you know how to take the steering clutches out with a 2 way blade? Getting ready to tear into it

those are steering assist cylinders. you can remove some of the slack by loosening the jam nut and turn the spool. there is a cover on the side, just above the track to adjust the brake band so you can steer the machine.

Your track tensioner is on the front idler

Pump the cylinder behind the front wheel with grease to move it forward until track has only one inch of sag at top

That's what a local excavation guy was just telling me last week. Now I just need to find one of those button cap greasers
