I know this isn't related to the video but what is the difference between "sebi" and "meni". For example: "Skuvala sam *meni* čaj" and "Skuvala sam *sebi* čaj" Or even " On šeta *njegovog* psa" and " On šeta *svog* psa" I am always hearing people correcting me about that and I just can't understand when to use 'svoj, svog' and 'moj, mog'
By the way, my aunt is Serbian and my cousins speak Serbian too and we together often travel to Serbia so I can say I speak Serbian very solid although the grammar and the sounds are very difficult and sometimes it's hard for me to understand people when hey talk fast. These videos help me very much to learn the language even more and understand my family. Thank you.

Oh, nice! And where are you from?
As for your question, the difference is subtle. Using the reflexive pronouns (sebi, svog) sounds better, and it also makes the sentence clearer, as it ..I wanna say, it reduces the search space for its meaning. If you say "on šeta njegovog psa", it could be someone else's dog. Imagine you mentioned he was with a friend. Whose dog is it then? His own or his friend's? And in the version 'On šeta SVOG psa', there is no confusion. The dog belongs to the person who's walking it. And this is maybe the clue when to use these pronouns - if the person you want to talk about been mentioned or somehow indicated. The indication in the first sentence is in the first part "skuvala sam", from that it's already obvious I am talking about myself. Unlike, say, 'To je moj pas!' - you couldn't use the reflexive pronoun, because it doesn't have a handle, it wouldn't be pointing to anything, because 'I' have not already appeared in the sentence. I have no idea if this is helping :D

@@RelaxingSerbian Oh, I see 😮. I understood the part about "On šeta svog psa" now. It's much clearer. Thank you very much! This was very difficult for me to understanding due to Serbian grammar being very complex. Again, Thank you so much!
And I am from Scandinavia 😄

'SVOJ' is related to the subject of the sentence.
