My man, I was hesitant to invest 45 minutes for a shop tour, but there are so many impressive elements here, I’ll likely watched over and over. I love how thoughtful you were about the shop’s function, but more so, I appreciate your sense of tradition based on you father and grandfather’s work. Thanks for sharing this!
Showing this video to my wife so she we quit complaining about all of my tools! Holy cow you have got every tool know to man more than one of some of them. Been planning on building a cabinet below my drill press. Love the design of your be able to pull it out.
🤣LOL!! I hope this video helped... I can’t thankyouuu enough for watching tom.. please do make sure you keep visiting. I have a lot to show still :) and also please email me a picture of your drill press cabinet maybe when you complete it👍🏻😁🪚🔨take care my friend
To have built that workshop at your age... OMG what a wonderful accomplishment! Seems to me so many young people spend all their free time on cell phones or video games, (nothing to show for it later)....Tons of credit to your Dad too!
Thanks so much mark! It’s truly been a passion of mine building the shop and then the projects that come out of it... I’m beyond lucky to have the support my both my parents to allow me to always pursue my dreams... appreciate you visiting the shop 👍🏻🪚 make sure to keep popping in
This is amazing!! .y dad and I had a major falling out about 20 years ago, he was a cabinet maker and pro carpenter, I started to run the his shop, he trained me as a cabinet maker to which I hated and fought so much with him because I never wanted to be him.....now, he's gone...he left me the shop, everything in it was made by him and reminds me how proud he was of his craftsmanship....BTW i became and made money working as a cabinet maker, I miss him so much...well done for your shop, I'm so glad to see that you and your dad work together in this shop Thanks for sharing!!
I hear ya, I do. My dad wouldn't loan me a chisel for one little shaving when I was young and poor. He told me "Get your own tools!" 30 years later I finally could start getting some inexpensive tools. My training and skill were delayed 3 decades. :( He's gone now, I have tools and equipment now... and his tools which were left behind. I hope they carry it forward with fond memories when I am gone.

I've been a woodworker,,,,cabinet maker for over 40 years. Everything that you have done and made to have a well equipped shop is amazing! PERIOD! Everything is neat and tucked into every available space. You should be proud of who you are and what you've accomplished. I have a beautiful 38'x44' building and I'm slowly getting back to woodworking again after a ten year break due to having crohns disease. I have a lot of space to fill up, but as you know things are very expensive and it just takes time to aquire everything you need to have a great shop!!!! Have a great day! Ray
The level of detail in that shop is second to none. That is awesome. I am not sure whether I should tell you this but you can change out mitre saw blades 😉 having a mitre saw for each blade is sweet but I like being married. Amazing craftsmanship. I like the red oak. I have always been a fan of the red oak with clear coat. The 80s were not kind to red oak because there was too much orange stain applied but with just the clear it looks great 👍
DUDE!!!! You're Shop is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Amazingly anal! There are certainly places and ways you can "lean" it out so your not making as many steps throughout the day. But the way you have it all built out and the amount of Grizzly tools!! I was at Grizzly just yesterday and it took me 2 hours to decide to pull the trigger to get a drill press. I love their tools, just not the prices :-(. The craftsmanship of your builds is truly incredible. And the amount of analnise of your Dad's electrical work and how much of it there is!! You're Grandpa did BEAUTIFUL work. But dude, don't sell your self short. Both you and your Dad do amazing stuff too. The fact you could pay for all this is also amazing! This is the nicest shop I've seen yet on UA-cam. Great, GREAT job!!!
Your kind words truly means so much cackleberry! Thank you so much for visiting :) I’ve had great luck with my grizzly tools. Please make sure to please keep coming back to visit. I have a lot to share still :)
@@thatwoodguy104 Oh I will. Your craftsmanship is a true inspiration for me!! As am sure it is for others that watch your woodworking videos. Did you get your milling machine used?
Even in my dreams I couldn't imagine a better woodworking shop , incredible! You should fill your pencil drawer because ( you can never have enough pencils!)
WOW! Just wow. What a space you have there. Your custom cabinetry is beautiful! Other than the height problem, it looks like you have a lot of space around each tool. Very clever to use the milling machine for wood. Talk about accurate, and dead-flat pieces. I LOVE that the cabinets all have plexiglass doors and lighting. And the shop looked spotless, so I would say your fine dust collection is very good. Even when you clean there is always fine dust that falls everywhere. Long-term that will be very good for your lungs. I have always used a handkerchief, then went onto a respirator before it was a thing. Unfortunately, my eldest brother who did the same as grampa, has a very difficult time breathing without oxygen because he never wore a mask except when spraying finishes. My other brother worked with antique homes, taking them down and erecting them elsewhere and/or he repaired them. He was exposed to not only dust but dried fecal matter from rodents, squirrels, and raccoons and is now having breathing issues. I'm of a similar mind that if I'm going to be working in space for long lengths of time, then I want it to be appealing to me. Some of these guys out there that are doing the work you are, don't understand the customer aspect of a shop. I hate hearing " well it is just shop furniture" and just slap boards together. It is a wasted opportunity to practice dovetails, custom molding, rabbits, and dados. You want the customer to see your work and what you are capable of. It's your "showroom" if you will of your talent. I'm not referring to the people just starting. Those can be lean years in the beginning. Back when you could get kitchen cabinets that would end up in a dumpster for free, that is what was in my shop. In the garage metal shop, I installed garage-grade cabinets I got from a big box store. After 20+ yrs, only one door warped on me, and the rest still look like the day I stained them. I'm studying Korean and Japanese joinery and I figure what better place than my shop to practice it? I am refitting my shop this spring right after the addition goes on and the custom cabinets and 100-plus drawers will give me a chance to use those new skills. Though I'm only showing off to friends and family. I retired from my day job at 50 so this is for the most part a hobby shop. I would much rather screw up a shop cabinet than a customer's cabinet. I love the history associated with the things in your shop. I loved my grampa and spending time in his workshop. When I think of those early days, I can almost smell the cherry tobacco he smoked in his shop. He was a furniture, and custom cabinetry maker. So as soon as I started to walk, I would always go to the shop. When I was 10, he decided I was old enough to start using the hand tools. My favorite job was peeling branches for the carved walking canes he also made, with a spokeshave. He had about a dozen different spokeshaves he used all of the time and in every configuration there was. Some were either custom commissioned for him, or he made them himself out of a mix of hardwoods like ebony and rosewood with gleaming brass, and red bronze parts. By 12 I had blade sharpening down, and I loved that too. (let's just say I loved every aspect of woodworking), including harvesting trees on the back 40 acres put aside just for that very purpose. He had an old 1942 military truck, which I called the rust bucket. It had removable heavy-duty canvas doors, that came off every spring until late fall. It was 4-wheel drive, and because it was a matter of doing something with the tires, I think, to put it into 4-wheel drive, he just kept it in that mode and could drive over just about anything. He had a two-wheel rig that held 3 large logs at a time on one end, and the other ends were chained to a long bar that was then chained to the truck. He would let me sit on his lap and drive down the old logging roads that went around the entire 200 acres. My older brothers drove it on their own as well as the old Willys jeep cramps had until I turned 14, then I drove tractors to that jeep. Gosh, I'm rambling, sorry. You can count me in as a new subscriber and I look forward to your other videos.
I absolutely can’t thank you enough for your kind words and brief story into some of your woodworking passion, Please never hesitate to explain what makes you happy and what certain thing strikes a memory🙏🏻 thank you so much again for your support already into not only me the craftsman but the shop as well :) Most don’t understand how some of us woodworkers express our shop as a studio... a studio for our clients or anybody really to see what kind of artist they are dealing with 🪚 it’s always been a passion of mine just as much as the woodworking it’s self is literally shop building and making things nice.... I enjoyed reading your comment almost as much as the video... I had one grandfather that was a farmer and hobby woodworker and I never got to spend any real time in his shop... somehow it ended up in my blood though. It sounds like you had amazing experiences with him. Thanks for sharing.
Wow!! That’s all I can say about your awesome dream shop. I was searching shop tours and came across your tour. Thank you for sharing your wonderfully done video and shop tour. I am blown away how organized and efficient the shop is designed. What a great inspiration. Thanks for sharing.
I have to add, I have never been a fan of a basement woodshop, but this one is the exception to the exception. Beautiful shop, fantastically laid out and very clearly well thought out. Love it and congratulations to you and your father. The thought and care you have taken with your layout, lighting, materials, storage and storage units is above and beyond. Well done young man.
I’m impressed by the attention to detail. If this is the care and attention that goes into “shop” furniture, I can’t imagine how amazing your customer builds are. Way to go. Can’t wait to see more builds. (Enjoyed the jewelry box build, btw!)
New sub here. Just found this video. I absolutely love to see how people use their space for shops. The way you use negative spaces is inspiring. I try to do the same in my shop. Every square inch gets used. Great video.
Thanks for the sub my friend and welcome! I hope to keep you interested.. I have lots of new projects coming and a few shop upgrades too :) thanks so much for checking it out and good luck with your shop too 👍🏻🪚
I am a serious hobbyist...I can probably make a shop like this in a century or two, but in my dreams...Oh man, what did you eat? That's tons and tons of work there...Wow! Loved it.
I watched this to get some ideas for a shop I am building. It won't be near this big but what a great use of space. I have seen some shops but yours is amazing!! It's well thought out and well planned. Your cabinet work, for cabinets that are just shop cabinets, is amazing! I hope I utilize my space 1/2 as well as you did.
Thanks so much my friend.. that all means so much to me... it’s been a labor of love building this shop and I’m happy to now share ideas to maybe help you design yours now :) make sure you keep coming back for more ideas and new projects I have coming
That is one very impressive workshop that you and your Dad have built. You have made use of every inch of space and planned out where everything goes really. well. I am so jealous and wish my tiny basic 16feet by 8 feet space looked half as good as this. I'm just starting out and need to get it properly sorted out. The pictures of you work are mind-blowing. Keep up the great work and I hope you continue for years to come. Best wishes from the UK
Greg, that is really outstanding. I needed motivation to organize my shop. I told myself, no new projects until I clean up and organize. Thanks for making the video, it gave me some good ideas. I can't wait to see your projects! Be safe and stay healthy!
Thank you so much for visiting Robert! Truly means a lot to me to have all your support... and I hope I can continue to interest you in visiting here :) 👍🏻
Wow, truly inspiring. I can see your point in having cabinets for storage and for showingof your skills. I never thought of that before but now it totally makes sense. Well done indeed!
Greetings from Australia Your workshop is amazing and presents so well with the cabinets. I have subscribed to your channel and will be watching your videos. Regards James One Handed Maker
Woa!! Thanks so much for visiting James! Truly means a lot to have some one from the land down under watching me in the shop up here in upstate NY... I have a lot to keep sharing my friend... thank you so much again
IN... CREDIBLE! I've watched a lot of 'shop videos,' developing ideas on how to improve my shop. I, too, have a milling machine in my shop I use for both metal and wood (soft, malleable metal).... OK, my friend, you earned my subscription; now to 'see you at work....'
Truly means a lot to have you aboard Carl. I hope to keep you entertained as much as possible :) I have a lot of wood working projects along with shop upgrade projects coming... really appreciate you checking out the shop :)
Im impressed with what you & your dad worked on down there, & the memorial pieces you've received from your grandad! Theres so much ingenuity & love in your cozy shop!
Incredible, Amazing, and truly Awesome! Your attention to detail is breathtaking! A place for everything and everything in it's place is not just a saying it is absolutely a way of life for you! Also, I don't think I have ever seen such a clean and dust free shop, which again is a testimony to your attention to detail. This was a truly inspirational video as you're not just clean and organized, you are an AMAZING craftsman! The cabinetry in your shop would rival anything you could find in the finest of homes and commercial spaces. As good as the entire video was, the "eye candy" as you stated at the end, displayed some absolutely gorgeous pieces that only a true craftsman could produce. You spoke such high praise for your grandfather and father, but I am sure they bust at the seems with pride of you and your work. You are a true modern day craftsman!
I am absolutely blown away. This is the most incredible workshop I’ve ever seen. Your workmanship is exquisite, and I love the heritage aspect of 3 generations of craftsmen. I’m a third generation engineer and I’m very proud of my heritage.
So impressive! Thank you for the tour. Such a great example of how a shop is so unique to everyone. I think people too often try to mimic others. Your creativity really shines and will serve to help others be creative too.
Hi.... to say that the shop is impressive would be a severe understatement! The meticulous details are phenomenal. Your creativity and problem solving skills are superb! What stood out to me the most is the drop-tray storage under the cabinets. Those are brilliant! Nice work! Thanks for inviting us into your world for a bit... enjoyed it. Looking forward to see what you make next!

BEST SHOP TOUR I've watched so far. The levels of details, ingenuity and craftsmanship that were mentioned and that went unmentioned are ridiculous!!! I am gearing up to build my shop and I was gonna buy most of my storage NOW after seeing this I can't even do it. That is an actual testament to how you feel about what you do.Tracks inside the pencil drawer says it all!! AWESOME and very Inspiring. I gotta say it though why no LED lighting?
Thanks so much for watching my friend. That means a lot to me thank you so much. So I did convert to led lighting along my long bench and a few fixtures around the center of the shop as well. I am currently in the process of converting the rest of them now👍🏻😅 thanks again for watching and commenting. I hope your shop build goes smooth and some of my ideas help 👍🏻
Incredible shop! Thanks for sharing. My favorite part is all of the custom cabinetry combined with enviable electrical capacity. The whole room is a work of art. It’s so cool that you can share it with your dad, and apparently, pieces from your grandfather.❤. I’m curious about your hand injury. Hope it heals fast!
Thanks so much Lisa. Really means a lot to me to have you check out the shop. :) so my hand injury was a table saw accident :/ I am going to be posting a more specific video explaining what happened so make sure to please check it out along with more projects that I have coming :) thank you so much again for your support and kind words
Very impressive. It’s obvious seeing your shop that a lot of time was put into it. Not just in the design, but all the labor too. Love the layout with the isles and cabinet walls instead of just an open room. It’s like a shop/ mancave. Cool place to just hangout, but also an awesome place to build things with some really nice tools. Thank you for the tour.
Thanks so much my friend. It most certainly is a labor of love that is cool to just hangout. :) I really appreciate you visiting. Please make sure to Come back and keep checking out future projects
Thanks tom! I really appreciate you watching them 😃 and yes sir. The firewood is still going on in the background.... It’s been really nice sharing this side of my life and what makes me ThatWoodGuy :)
Wow. Someone with more tools than I have.. Nicely done shop Greg. Of course the amount of detail in all the storage is pretty amazing. But the tooling you have for all the machines is pretty amazing. Most of us woodworkers, even professional, don't have as much storage or tooling as you have. Course most professionals are busy building product for clients and can't afford to do what you've been able to do. I enjoy my shops too, and having a great shop makes the jobs more fun. Hope you continue to have fun.
Thanks Paul. I really appreciate you checking out the shop... and your right. I was blessed to be able and build it throughout my firewood career. While most woodworkers never really get the time to put into there work space...👍🏻🪚

Wow, what a space. Inspirational for me as we build out our new workshop. Subbed!
Awesome! Thank you!😊
All I can say is, Amazing, absolutely Amazing. So impressed.
Thanks Uncle Tom! 👍🏻💙
Lol @ the ground wire. Good one!
Just research static explosion from PVC dust collection pipe LOL.
One of the most impressive shop tours I’ve seen. And to be able to work from home is a bonus. Cheers
Thanks Kent! That means a lot to me my fiend
In that drawer full of cutters, please think about something to keep them from banging into each other, those edges are delicate. Nice shop!
Very good point Raymond 👍🏻 thank you for checking out the shop and please keep coming back to visit 🔨🪚
Nice, Looks like a "Grizzly" shop to me. Glad you turned your hobby into something great

Beautiful Shop and Outstanding Craftsman
Thanks Charlie. I really appreciate you checking it out :)
Beautiful shop. I love the tools and organization but also I love the connection your shop gives you to your father. Cheers.
Thanks so much JB.. yes sir, that shop is very much me and my dad at our finest :) thanks so much for watching.
This shop is awe-inspiring. I love how organized it is. Im going to make some of these cabinets for my own shop.
Thanks so much John! All your kind words Truly means so much to me! Please keep coming back to visit :) I have so much more to share
I’m impressed by the attention to detail. If this is the care and attention that goes into “shop” furniture, I can’t imagine how amazing your customer builds are. Way to go. Can’t wait to see more builds. (Enjoyed the jewelry box build, btw!)
Thanks so much will. That means a lot to me👍🏻😁 hope to keep you checking back in my friend
What a shop! I cannot believe how good the layout is and the cabinets. Great work
Thanks Jeremy! That means a lot! Please keep coming back to visit :)
New sub here. Just found this video. I absolutely love to see how people use their space for shops. The way you use negative spaces is inspiring. I try to do the same in my shop. Every square inch gets used. Great video.
Thanks for the sub my friend and welcome! I hope to keep you interested.. I have lots of new projects coming and a few shop upgrades too :) thanks so much for checking it out and good luck with your shop too 👍🏻🪚
Very Nice shop !!!!
Thanks so much! :)
I love the drillpress cabinet that you can move. That's brilliant. I'm going to do that with mine as well!!!

Fantastic workshop, a credit to your skill
Thanks so much Steve! 👍🏻
I am a serious hobbyist...I can probably make a shop like this in a century or two, but in my dreams...Oh man, what did you eat? That's tons and tons of work there...Wow! Loved it.
Really appreciate you Henry 👍🏻🤣
All I can say is Wow!!! you really have set up above and beyond anything I could ever emagine. just beautiful! so jelous!
Awesome shop! I can't imagine the number of hours you have spent building out your shop
Lovely hobby of tools cabinet and all the machines.
Thanks so much my friend 👍🏻😁 hope to keep you coming back
Greg that is a truly amazing woodshop.....all the custom made furniture are works of art...would love to see more workshop videos :)
Thank you so much Angela. that means a lot. And please keep checking back for videos... I’m aiming for Wednesday’s and Saturday’s for uploads. :)
Very cool!
Thanks so much!

That is the most amazing basement shop I have ever seen - especially with the cabinetry, bench space, outflow tables, and lighting!
agreed
That's a great shop, well organized and well thought out.
Thanks so much Greg👍🏻😁 really appreciate you checking it out
Very nice, craftsmanship is amazing!
Thanks so much!
Wow, truly inspiring. I can see your point in having cabinets for storage and for showingof your skills. I never thought of that before but now it totally makes sense. Well done indeed!
Thanks tom. Yes sir, it’s been a huge benefit and strong point is showcasing the shop so any person or client can see the detail in craftsmanship :)
Very nice shop layout.
Congratulations to you and your Dad's work.
Thanks so much ken! That really means a lot :)
Greetings from Australia
Your workshop is amazing and presents so well with the cabinets.

Really appreciate that my friend. Your kind words mean a lot 👍🏻
Im impressed with what you & your dad worked on down there, & the memorial pieces you've received from your grandad! Theres so much ingenuity & love in your cozy shop!

Beautiful shop, will be following along!! Terry
Thanks my friend! That Really means a lot for following :)
Wonderful. At least three generations of talented craftsman.
That’s right! 😁 thanks so much for visiting :)
This workshop is another level
Thank you so much for watching my friend ✊🏻
I am absolutely blown away. This is the most incredible workshop I’ve ever seen. Your workmanship is exquisite, and I love the heritage aspect of 3 generations of craftsmen. I’m a third generation engineer and I’m very proud of my heritage.
Fantastic workshop!
Awesome place thank you
And Thank you for visiting my friend. Please keep coming back 👍🏻
That is a sweet wood shop 👍
Thanks mike! 👍🏻
So impressive! Thank you for the tour. Such a great example of how a shop is so unique to everyone. I think people too often try to mimic others. Your creativity really shines and will serve to help others be creative too.
Thank you so much my friend. Really appreciate you checking it out :)
I could watch this video all day long! I don’t have words to describe your work shop.
That means so much to me.. thank you so much my friend :)
Hi.... to say that the shop is impressive would be a severe understatement!
Man lovin that shop. I got a lot of grizzly tools myself. Got my new planer on its way
Thanks my friend! Oh how cool! I love my grizzly tools! Hope you enjoy your new planer! :)

❤ I loved your video of the shop. A lot of good memories down there I think of my little spot in the corner I used to have. Keep up the good work son so proud of you❤❤
Love you endlessly momma❤️
Very awesome. You and your fam are very talented.
Thanks so much fellow Adirondacker 👍🏻😁 appreciate you
Very impressive.
Please make sure to
Come back and keep checking out future projects
I watch your firewood videos all the time! Never knew you were into wood working. That's one bad ass shop!!
BTW I love the pencil drawer
You put a great deal of thought into this. Well done!
Thanks so much Robert! I really appreciate you checking it out :)
