Love the way he said "yknow" when he did Paul haha
The "yknow" is the key to Paul. Put it at the end of the sentence and let it trail off. Dana Carvey knows that too.

You’re not British, huh?
John had a slower more careful approach but was quick witted at the same time. His accent was a higher British grade than the other 3- in fact his Aunt Mimi didn’t want John hanging around the other 3 because of their lower accent.
I closed my eyes when he did it - I only heard John come thru. He really needs to do a couple lines to prove if he is really good!
George is hard, nobody can pull it off perfectly but that’s a great John impression.
George managed it pretty well!!!
Steven Coogan can do a good George (All his Beatles impressions are spot on). He said, it's a bit like doing John, only high on LSD and with a hint of drag queen. I've only seen him do it once at one of his stand up shows, years ago though. TBH, he's pretty damn good, at a lot of impressions.
Kevin Eldon does all four Beatles perfectly. And George Martin.
Yeah, George is the one most people struggle with. Honestly he had such a unique voice

Why did he do Paul so accurately? He said y'know and the hand movements, visible increase in energy. The facial expressions. And he said "sort of like that, y'know" I swear I've heard Paul say that before.

I think I've heard him say that too! In interviews whenever he hums/sings part of a song to move along a story about him songwriting, he often says, "Like that, y'know?"

@@giacomoc4119 no the Beatles didn't do the voices in the film which I found was off putting, in fact the Beatles didn't even have much involvement in the film.

Funny thing, one of the voice actors, Lance Percival, actually voiced Paul and Ringo in the cartoon series that aired from '65-'67, before Yellow Submarine was but a twinkle in the producers' eyes.
@@aaronorenstein5963 Lance Percival was also the voice of "Old Fred" in Yellow Submarine. Also, Geoffrey Hughes, the voice of Paul in YS, was Onslo in "Keeping Up Appearances", and still sounded like Paul in YS...

To ruin the joke by explaining it, I was referencing how they look exactly the same, so they would have to make sure Dhani was George's son instead of just actually being George.

Simon Pegg is so fab. Georgie was a little wonky, but the rest were great.
In order to do a proper George Harrison impression, you need to be throaty while talking/ singing in the higher registers.

George is by far the hardest one to pull off, but the other ones were pretty much on point

This is why their harmonies sounded so good, diverse tones and resonance.
and then you have the Beach Boys, 3 brothers who sound similar, 2 of which sound incredibly similar, their similar-sounding cousin, and a childhood friend who also sounds similar

Generally, really different voices cause harmonies to sound off because of the diverse tones, resonances and harmonics. That's why sibling harmonies often sound better.

I once heard that harmonies that are slightly off tend to sound more real and earthy, where perfectly aligned harmonies sound a bit fake and robotic (like what you might get with autotune).

The George must be the hardest of all to imitate, for anyone. One reason that George's particular intonation sounds so brilliant on the early songs, especially. I can listen to a song like "You Like Me Too Much" on loop for over an hour.
This is TOTALLY my theory too! so weird to hear someone else say it, I'd long pondered the idea that the reason P, J and G sounded so good in their harmonising together was because all cavities were present, nasal, mouth and throat, wow this is mad to hear echoed

It's really cool to think of it that way, but the singing voice is quite different from the speaking voice. They actually activate distinct parts of the human brain, that's also why most people sing without accent! :)

I could not figure out what he was saying at first. I thought he was maybe saying "your man" (?). (I'm American.) Finally realized towards the end. So you not alone! I thought the impressions were spot-on though!

"George Harrison" from Broadway here: and I agree with comments listed, George is very hard to nail down, took me a long time to find that space where you speak in his voice. It's similar to John but it's a bit more gentle and the speed of his contemplative cadence is definitely key. I feel like his voice changed a lot too. You watch A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, his voice has more of a drawl and sibilance to it, maybe after coming off of having a sore throat from their American tour. But when you get to 70s and 80s interviews, his voice is much earthier, like he's channeling the spiritual guru that he's become.
I really enjoyed this. I'm from the States and have been a Beatles fan since I was a 70s kid. Sadly, they were broken up by then, but their music lives on.🎙🎹 🎸🥁🤘

Harnell's impressions were rubbish, well at least to a British person.

Well, if he does Wacko, he's basically doing Ringo with an American accent.
Just like Peter Serafinowicz, Simon does 3/4 very well. George is tough.
Peter is a Liverpudlian, so it comes more naturally to him, whereas Simon, from Gloucester, applies the techniques shown to manipulate the tone along with the accent. Both very talented in creating characters and sometimes new voices to bring them to life.
Albert Hammond does George well.
@@Mudge07 It's not any more natural for a Liverpudlian to manipulate the tone of their voice than someone from Gloucester! The only added difficulty for Simon is getting the accent right, and it's not exactly one of the more difficult British accents.

This is a good impression. Commenters arguing otherwise may be mistaking an _impression_ for an _imitation._ They're not the same thing. Actually, I've listened closely to a lot of Wakko Warner dialogue, mainly 'cause I'm a huge Animaniacs fan, and I can hear little bits of John and Paul in there. Occasionally there's a little smidge of George. Also, is it the vid where Jess explains his Animaniacs audition?

That may be because none of The Beatles' accents sounded like proper "scouse". In later years, John even admitted that the accents they used in public were exaggerated in order to sound more working class.
A proper "scouse" accent sounds more like Alexei Sayle, or Paul O'Grady...
