You keep recommending this Ticova chair. I took your word because you seem like a serious review channel and ordered one. This chair is a piece of GARBAGE:
    a. The sit depth is for tiny people or children (I am 1.83m/6ft.)
    b. The reclining has only 3 positions in the worse places.
    c. The sit padding is the worse part, it's non-existent. You literally sit on the wood/plastic (whatever is inside).
I am deeply dissspointed and feeling betrayed, is it some amazon scam ? Are you affiliated with this terrible brand? I can't explain it any other way.
This one will go back to Amazon unless one of my friends want to come and pick up this piece of garbage.

    • @btodtv
      @btodtv  Рік тому +2

It's definitely not a high-end chair but it is the best all-around option I have found for under $300. The seat depth is not adjustable but saying it is for children is a stretch. Robert is around 6'2" and this is also one of his favorite chairs under $300. Having 3 lockable positions on a chair for this price is pretty good. Most will have one. Completely disagree that you are sitting directly on the seat frame. Again, this is not high-end foam but there is plenty of it to keep you off the frame. It sounds like maybe your expectations are a bit too high for this price range. If you are willing to jump to the $500 range, you will find a noticeable difference in product quality. -Ryan

@@btodtv appreciate your reply and view, thanks for that, but I expect a useable chair even for that price. Objectively I am a light person for my height. and I am sitting on a piece of hardwood. Right now I am debating whether to spend an hour dismantling so I can return it or just give it away. • @btodtv

Your definition of usable will be far different than most people, in my opinion. I regularly sit in chairs that cost over $1500 but I could use the Ticova as my home office chair for 4-6 hours a day and be ok with it. It is definitely usable. Again, I don't think your expectations match the price you are looking to spend. Truthfully, I am not certain a jump to the $500 range would work for you either. I would probably consider getting something high end or maybe something that is refurbished to get a high-end product at a discount. -Ryan

I found a cheapy but nice office chair never used near a dumpster last week. Not a single mark on the PU leather. The adjustments work fine, no bugs, decent stuffing. No recline or tilt to mess up, though it does let you rock if you want to. Even the casters roll smooth. Even has a lumbar pad that is decent thickness. Like a lower management chair it is build sorta cheap but functions fine and is very comfortable if you sit in one spot for hours.

what I've been doing for like 15 years now, is going to the junkyard and pulling a nice seat out of a car. They're like $10-50 at most, and you can find some truly pristine seats. Currently using some 1980's toyota camry seats that spent their entire life with covers on them so they looked brand new.
Bolt them to an old computer chair base using a piece of 3/4 inch plywood. Boom. perfect seat that lasts forever. Literally forever. The padding was made to never go flat. Tons of adjustment. Basically free. Only requires a drill, $5 in nuts/bolts/washers from the hardware store, and a tiny piece of plywood.

It seems like the best choices are sub-$250 (Ticova and Clatina) or above-$1,000 (Leap v1 as the v2 seems to not have headrest support that I can find). Nothing worthwhile in the $300-$800 range. I do greatly appreciate your reviews of things like headrest comfort, armrest comfort, seat and back, recline comfort, etc.

I think it's sad how fake reviews are taking over Amazon, and I've learned my lesson 2 times now buying chairs from there - so I ended up at Office Depot, Ikea, and Staples a couple days ago and sat on all their chairs until I found one at Staples - a Beautyrest with 10 year limited manufacturer warranty and I got it for $279 on sale and added another 3 year protection for $50 where I get my money back no questions asked if I'm not happy. So far, it's working out great for me. I used to have an Aeron at my prior office job and that chair was SO comfortable, so I'm going to save up in a few years to get my hands on one. Also, for anyone considering gaming chairs, I sat on a few different ones at Staples and they were all terrible and no way can you last over 2 hours in one of those things.

I 100% agree with you; that's exactly why I haven't gotten an office chair yet (it's been 3 months I'm sitting on a seated folding chair from walmart. )
My personal opinion is this: mind you I'm 6'0 135lbs; "not SHAQ by any means". They were all bad 2 out of 5 stars at the MOST. 3 out of the 5 of these products I have personally sat in for 20+ hours at my workplace. They were all bad 2 out of 5 stars at the MOST. There is one chair that is foam, but it has the slick foam covering over it at my work and reclines to 160 degrees!!! I'm trying to find it. Now if I don't find it then I'm just looking for a specific comfy FOAM back & seat office chair that also has at least a 135-degree tilt recline ability.
what I'm asking for is fudging simple, it doesn't take a genius to make a comfortable chair. couch and recliner designers already have it made; but an office chair company doesn't???
also, all of these products are half mesh and half foam bs; and to add onto that they are all around a hefty price range for a shi**y product $100-300. Like that's crazy... definitely not worth the time nor the effort.

I feel like Amazon has become a cesspool of fake reviews and sellers using lame SEO tactics to get their sub-par products as high up as possible in search results.
The Clatina chair is now over $400 unfortunately... Maybe this video blew up the price, who knows.

Sorry this is long, but I could use some help.
I have a Secret Labs Omega at home, and it's great for short (sub 3 hour) sessions (I find the seat too firm). Though I do wish it had a bit better lumbar support since my back injury. It fits a lot like the seats in my Mitsubishi honestly.
That being said at my shop (where I spend most of my time) I have a really soft 10+ year old (executive style?) computer chair. It's really comfortable when sitting in it, but I pay for it later with back pain. Especially the week I worked 70+ hours.
So I'm looking for something to replace it. I don't mind spending some money for a decent chair. But I'm not putting a $700+ chair in a shop either...

I would think the deeper all-mesh lumbar would be more supportive than a one-piece back with a bar or foam pad for lumbar. I wonder how this kind of design would do with the material and method of Herman Miller's Sayl's back, a sculpted elastomer material in a suspension grid of varying thickness for varying compliance; might be a good match.
