Casual: has hackers fighting against you.
Faceit: has hackers fighting over who gets access to the rootkit installed on your computer.
Bruh no one cares about Hacking you
Youre not important
@@LordDucarius Everyone is important in the eyes of hackers, everyone has personal info, and, most of all, money. It’s why people try to sell bot immunity.
Only veterans remember when the title said FACIT
Lets all facit. I don't thin even the veterans remember
5:40
Sounds like something you'd say when you disregard all of your strats
What's faceit? I've only heard of facit
Toofty: "I haven't been stomped in a lobby before"
Toofty: because *I AM THE STOMPER*
I find faceit servers to be less tryhardy than casual TF2. Casual LA servers are full of sweaty tryhards and unbalanced games.
I can't play tho because i have windows 7 :(
3:13 I get games pretty fast, it's just that ONE PERSON who doesn't accept :/
yeah, that is the issue basically
Yup. And other times you get leavers in the actual game too which is even worse.
Yesterday i got banned from faceit because faceit couldn't load the ip for the server, half the server couldn't get the ip and got banned, just because faceit couldn't load it
That one guy who has the attention span of a rock
yeah this is what really hurts
I share these thoughts mostly. I don't think it's AS sweaty as, like, real comp, but it's for sure way sweatier than normal TF2 casuals, which isn't inherently a bad thing. The fact that this is an option for those who want something more serious, while not being as overwhelming as real comp, and yet we still have the option to play the more lax TF2 casuals, I think it's a good thing. More options are good! A lot of the conspiracy stuff revolving around how FACEIT is "malicious, out to get you, doing this on purpose," etc etc, is REALLY dumb imo, but I DO think there are areas where they've just fallen flat.
But I've recently uninstalled FACEIT entirely from my computer when I, once, accidentally kept it open when I THOUGHT I closed it, and a few hours later saw that it was taking up like 60% of my memory, making my computer almost freeze. Didn't like that. No idea what it meant, but simply having an app open in the background shouldn't do that. This paired with me being busier with other projects in life, I only really play TF2 for some background nonsense, not to think TOO hard, so it's in this respect that FACEIT isn't for me now. But man, having the app take up that much memory for no apparent reason didn't leave a good taste in my mouth. That paired with being basically forced to install the anticheat for no real reason, I don't think I'll being using FACEIT again any time soon, even if I think it's a fine alternative to casual.
I mostly don't like how some other content creators are handling this. It's almost like they're treating it like a relative, where all forms of criticism are null and void, totally not true according to (cherry-picked example). Of course, then there's OTHER content creators who are... on the complete opposite side of the spectrum lol. So, as always, it's very nice to see a perspective like yours that properly reflects how life ACTUALLY works. Grey areas. Some good, some bad, choose as you must.
How you manage to wrote this in 25 minutes?
Agreed, faceit is real sus
Actually, I was unaware that it took up that absurd amount of memory. Although I wouldn't jump to conspiracies since it could just be a little glitch in the system.
Cheater can join faceit on yesterday I found a hacker pyro that know where you hiding as spy his name it's sweems it's so strange when I see him walk toward me with strange walk
yep. this stuff with the anticheat A: making it impossible for me to stream the game and B: taking up a ton of memory in the background even without TF2 or FACEIT running.
super uncomfortable and suspicious. I've uninstalled the anticheat and will probably do the same with FACEIT as a whole. and that's coming from someone who really enjoyed the few matches I *did* play.
(even the ones when I was sharing the game through Discord so my OBS could see it and it was almost unplayably laggy were alright matches otherwise)
I think the main problem for face it was the initial PR. They (and some youtubers) tried to frame themselves as something they really aren't and that frustrated a lot of people. Other than that, is nice. Great video, as always, btw :D
Yeah. A lot of opinions are messed up simply because its hard to take the thing at face value when every single tftuber has made like 3 vids crammed with personal opions, which can strongly contradict at times.
Agreed
In case you're wondering all the footage in this video is from casual servers except the first clips on Badwater. I hope you enjoy the video, let me know what i missed, what problems you have come across and if you using Facit

Also i know this is kinda irrelevant. But if you read through the ToS and the privacy policy. The anti cheat/ the client. Is kinda just... Spyware. ( One guy already did this well so imma just copy it)
Good thing you didn't download/run their ac client, it's basically malware/spyware. Proof below.
"The Site will not intentionally disclose any personally identifying information about you... to third parties without your consent except where the Site, in good faith, believes such disclosure is necessary to comply with the law or other contractual provisions of the Site or to enforce the Terms and Conditions or other rules of the Site."
Basically says "we can steal your information if we do it in good faith".
"We also collect Personal Information to investigate complaints of cheating or behavior that we believe may be contrary to our T&C, including the Code of Conduct. This may include screenshots of players’ computer desktops or footage of in-game play"
Basically says "our T&C is just for show, we can break it any time you want and spy on you.". They also get to screenshot your PC at any time. Slightly concerning given many players use work computers or have sensitive information they don't want shared.
"We may also disclose your personal information to third parties in order to enforce or apply the terms of agreements, to investigate potential breaches, or to protect the rights, property or safety of FACEIT, our customers, or others."

The difference between faceit and casual is that your team actually help you upgrade the tele-porter at spawn in faceit
That’s why I have a bind when I play Engie in Casual that asks my teammates to upgrade my tele lol. Can’t trust em to do that on their own most of the time.
In casual I do swap to engie and upgrade teleporters but often times it feels like they take too long to place the TP exit and thus I’m not in an ideal position when the game starts
This happens literally 95% of the time to me in casual wdym. I always get my tele upgraded

I agree with pretty much everything you've said.
People seem to be complaining the most about Face-It just not being casual, and they seem to be jumping the gun very quickly, because I don't think anyone could expect Face-It to understand the kind of odd-ball playerbase we have right off the bat. Things will get better in the future, we just need patience.
But that seems to be in such short short supply!
Great video Toofty, like always.

these are 2 reasons not to play faceit:
1. Their Anti Cheat can be classified both as spyware and malware.
2. It's competitive 12v12. I and I don't wanna hear a word about that, you get punished for leaving, ctf has a timer, etc.
Yes. And like 70% think that faceit is here only to help tf2 out. Which is just untrue.
They're trying to cash in when tf2 is kinda suffering. Kinda shady tbh.
@@virtual2288 yeah
@@nikolasbananaguyy
1. No it can't. There's no proof for that, and I personally doubt it. And if it was, then you could classify most anti-cheat programs as such, VAC included.
2. It is not, it's still a clusterfuck of 24 people, each and every one of which does whatever they desire. If you call it comp, then I doubt you've ever played or seen actual competitive games. Yes, you do get "punished" for leaving, but the punishment is nonexistent since the timeout doesn't last that long and if you left, I'd suppose that you don't want to play at the moment anyway.
Most importantly - faceit has alot of benefits compared to current casual - no cheater bots, random crits nor bulletspread, autobalance is replaced with valve bots that fill in spaces of those who left, making it fair and reasonable, and small rewards for those who like playing to complete the objective.
Faceit vs valve casual
Faceit: no alias, icky anti-cheat, *long ass wait times*
Valve casual: annoying bots and cheaters, garbage anti-cheat, can sometimes gets too friendly.

I am interested in competitive tf2, but i suck. I like this "semi" competitive style that faceit gives. With the players that know what they are doing, i feel like i could improve by playing faceit rather than casual tf2.
Right? It's so intuitive. It's just the stupid anti-cheat and miniscule map pool that makes me play casual and not Faceit.

Proly the biggest issue with FACEit, it's certainly annoying to be with or against a guy living in the attic with an ungodly level sweating for the strange awper hand ladder.
Something common with casual.
@@pandarek6679 the difference is, you know that valve doesn’t give one but FACEIT has an active development team so this just seems like a disappointment.
This is literally same problem with tf2 casual. Tf2 just has no skill balancing system so the games always have uneven level of players.
My thoughts on it is just play uncletopia it’s just a better casual experience but with all the things that faceit improved

A 5-minute queue is unbearable to me. I'm incredibly impatient as it is. I also have a toddler that limits my game time heavily. All I keep thinking during those 5 minutes is that I could have been actually playing the game. The FACEIT matches were better quality and actually felt like a proper team game. Though, not sure if I will use it much or at all in the future.
Damn that intro made me feel things.
Infernoooooooo
I feel some sort of way
The thing is that you need to buy Premium for the points. And the 20 games I played I got like 15 games where we roled or got roled.
Only for points you earn for tiering up.
When I played faceit, the matches were so unbalanced. When I was playing with my friends, we were all top scoring and the rest of my team were doing who knows what.
Because the elo system is new why does no one understand that ur skill cant be represented well if u only played 5 matches xd
@@LordDucarius not to mention the tf2 player base is pretty small and though I'm unsure on how much of the population plays faceit but depending on the time it's very likely that the same people will be matched together a lot
The anticheat alone makes me not want to use it since it seems extremely malicious and invasive
Thank you so much Toofty for actually looking at both sides of the issue/benefits of FACEIT. So many content creators go super-pro one-sided or the other and this was just a breath of fresh air.
I just don't like that they put so much pressure on you to win. Sometimes I want to try my best but don't want to use the meta loadouts or team comps. And I get tired of playing the same classes all the time in order to win. It's frustrating when there is obviously a group of people that play together a lot that all queued together on the other team. It's slightly less toxic than competitive, which I played a few seasons of. But only slightly.
I played a lot as a beta player and it's...fine. I honestly have gone back to casual because even though I usually play the objective and contribute to the team, I don't like being basically forced to do it or feel bad. In regular casual, teams are usually good about kicking bots quickly and if they don't, I can just leave and find a new game. Much better than having to endure being rolled several games in a row with five-ten minute queue times in between each of the matches.
I think I'll just do the new potato.tf MvM event for a month or so and come back and see if FACEIT has made any changes over that period of time.
tbh I think thats fair, but its as he said in the video, its to give more options to the comunity, tbh I love it, and have not had this much fun in tf2 for a long ass time
i don't think there's anything at faceit truly forcing you to try your hardest with the meta. i've seen plenty of people on faceit go meme loadouts to basically nobody complaining. the average skill level is higher though, which might be why you feel like you have to try harder just to stay afloat when in reality people don't seem to take things considerably more or less seriously than valve casual.
with time i think more and more people will realize that faceit's incentives to try actually mean very little. hell even valve servers give you reason to try with bonus EXP, but people have long stopped caring about that.
they don't put any pressure to win. at all. your teammates do - unless they are a bunch of weirdos who would rather hobnobble with bots than play the darn game.
Facit is honestly funny and idk if it was a joke or a spelling error
I wish it was on purpose
wow how did i never notice this
Also, the software is ALWAYS running. The second your computer turns on, the software runs, it's always on in the background, there might be a setting to turn this off but I didn't find it. Also, if you're not connected to WiFi, the software will continually pop up complaining about not having WiFi, taking up your screen, its very annoying. It's just annoying to have to deal with all the time, it's always asking for your attention.
And I'd have to disagree with the mostly balanced teams. I played about a dozen or two dozen games, and every single game was a roll. I have not played a single match where one team does not roll the other. Always a roll. I am a half decent player as well with just over 500 hours now, so I can hold my own, but getting rolled in every game isn't fun.
Some people call Faceit's Casual "Glorified Highlander" and I can't agree more.
That's pretty accurate, but also not a bad thing. It reminds me a lot of Comp in overwatch, oddly enough. Its not wildly different from casual, but it's taken seriously
Love the video and hit a lot of my points. I think another point is that as a f2p we are given voice and text chat, this is huge for us as now we can actually call for medic, warn about spies and most importantly say gg💙
The AC is the main deal breaker for me that they will probably never fix or change.
I feel Faceit's reward system will create an exponential tryhard curve.
Effects will be noted over time
lol I like that term
my only gripe with faceit is their mods whitelist (pretty strict), which is a massive turn off for me. i don’t see why i would play a slightly worse uncletopia. wayyy better than casual tho
Cause uncletopia servers tend to get full quite often lol
@@gelatozaragoza1990 when that’s the case, i simply play creators lol
might be a thing so extra thing about the anti-cheat, once installed it stays with your computer always on and sending them your info even if you get rid of faceit and you need to either go into your systems manually and do a "search & destroy" or download software that does it for you
That clip after the ending though
Hello, Toofty! Great and insightful video, I think FaceIT is great, just because of the hackers. I was wondering if you could share the way you record/export videos to get such good bitrate on UA-cam? The videos seem to retain great quality compared to mine and I tried many different things, such as rendering at 50 CBR, recording in a higher resolution than my screen, different formats. I would be stoked if you could give me a tip or two!
I personally love how you can hop in and out of servers in casual without much impact on the game.
Congrats on the almost 100k subs! Last time I checked you were at 12k lmao
I stopped using FACEIT because of the queue times.
Especially when queuing with friends
i stopped cuz the anti cheats force me to restart my pc everytime i wanna play
Yea, I don’t wanna have to wait 5+ minutes for each round I play
I’m sticking to casual and Uncletopia
Bruh, face-it’s Anti cheat thinks shadow play, a core feature of many nvidia graphics cards, is a cheating program? If so, that a dealbreaker for me
About the rage quitting problem, what you said in the video made me wonder: I'm a community server provider, and on community servers I don't really see people rage quitting, at least not as often as on casual matchmaking. I think it is because on community servers, because the server plays multiple matches on the same map, it doesn't really matter whether you win or lose a match, because another will begin immediately after it, and so on, until the server decides to switch maps. So, it is more convenient to sit through that loss, watch the game scramble teams (default is a scramble after 2 consecutive losses by the same team) and keep playing, instead of disconnecting to try and start over on another server. However, on casual (and on Face It as well) you only get to play one match on a particular map, and it is often faster to leave and try to find a brand new match if things are going bad for you. At least, that's what I think is happening there, but it would be interesting to know your point of view on this.
Idea: A system for when people want to leave they can queue up to leave and will be replaced by someone trying to queue into a game, or when 2 people in separate games wanna leave we just swap them (could be toggled as an additional leaver option) of course we can also let them leave just warn them about the punishment
the man reached 100k, congrats my man
Casual is better because literally everyone and their mother forgot about Faceit's existence
Pov: you're waiting 8 months for queue times so you can get the faceit car.
tfw non invasive serverside anticheat has been perfectly functional since the fuckin 90s, but faceit AC needs access to the deepest part of your PC and runs literally anytime it's on, with no option other than uninstalling it to actually turn it off
imma have to pass on that one till I can get a concealed VM workin, gamer
When Typo funny lololololtrolo
Can't play it because anti-cheat is conflicting with other one if i launch it once(till computer turned off).
I don’t play faceit because running just the faceit launcher in the background drops my FPS. I don’t have a great computer, but I have never dropped below 60fps on tf2 until I starting playing with faceit. Just something to consider
just use the website. I haven;t downloaded a single piece of software
I'll still play casual because my best moments are circling a f2p heavy with a bottle like what i do with sentries
Thats the main difference between faceit players and casual players
Faceit players are more there for the core gameplay, while casual players play for "silly sandwich man and funny French crab"
@@flamingscar5263 Have been playing chiefly casual for years and I've seen entire server turning into silly sandvicherinos and cute french crabs only like 2 times. Your point?
Generally, I haven’t had a really good experience with FACEIT, as in most of the games I’ve played I’ve been rolled. Because people try harder to win, they tend to teamstack, especially heavies and medics, which is a pain to fight against.
Casual is actually casual.
Facit is just a poor-Mann’s competitive
yes
*thank you* , this was *exactly* the video that needed to be made
hey man how did you get your crosshair its looks sick
Bro this fakit video was so good can’t wait for hot sandwich Tuesday
Ive been playing faceit for a bit and I absolutely love it. No bots, no randomly getting put in brazilian servers and having 200 ping, people are playing the objective but also not afraid to throw out a taunt or killbind if the situation calls for it. Faceit is THE tf2 experience that I want. There are a few issues I still have. stopwatch (in its current implementation) on payload. The ranking system feels like it incentivizes winning a bit too much just so that you can get fake internet points. No class limits also leads to enemy teams having 5 engineers and 3 heavies on the final point of payload maps.
Something I would like to see is a way to integrate a discord voice channel. TF2 center had this thing where you could join a mumble required lobby, link your mumble account, and then when a game started, you get sent into a mumble room with your teamates. Having something similar, except with discord, would be awesome, cause the in game voice chat is kinda scuffed (Tf2 refuses to pick up my mic but discord takes it just fine), and of course the voice chat would be entirely optional, only for the people who want to put in the extra effort of communication. I think it would be cool.
10:50 oh my god I realize now that there are normal enemies and bosses in TF2 XD
If they see this they'll probably just manually remove him from the anticheat list
Can't way for the next spicy hot take Friday vid
I think this is really cool cause this is kind of what we need to deal with the bot crisis that TF2 is facing, I do wish there is an option for a valve's casual type match for now this i will. I see some people saying that the Anticheat is invasive and suspicious but personally i trust them because:
1.I use faceit a lot to play CS(lvl 10 now)
2.The AC is something you can turn off when you're done playing
3.In terms of CS, Faceit is known for being a competitive platform, a sweaty tryhard place(what i dont hope TF2 casual servers will be) and a great way to avoid cheaters, they are also a renown company for competitive gaming and often time their servers as well as their AC are used in tournaments(supported games)
Keep up the great content!!!
thanks for being transparent about being sent some stuff from faceit, it makes me trust you more
1:13 dont worry, for informal writing, using an apostrophe to pluralize and avoid confusion is acceptable
I sure do love all these cool TF2 versions that come to “save TF2” and then work exclusively in North America.
* cries in third world country *
I've had a very negative experience with Faceit personally. I am very much a casual player when it comes to TF2, and I wouldn't really call myself experienced even with over 1000 hours. That being said, I really don't mind the slightly more competetive experience Faceit provides. It's a nice break from regular casual and the lack of bots is a huge bonus.
However, the balancing system they have is absolute garbage. I will win 1 out of every 10 games if I'm lucky just because I always end up in a match where the enemy team is generally juat a bunch of ausie using, 3 unusual stacking, soldier / sniper maining tryhards (no offense mean, I'm juat salty as hell). Now let me clarify, I **don't** have a problem playing against more experienced players. In fact, I think it's a goos thing as it offers a challenge to help you improve. But when it's litterally every single game getting stomped like a damn bug it's infuriating. At the end of the day, I'd rather just play regular casual and deal with bots that get kicked in a minute or less than have to deal with the frustration of getting stomped by people with over 30k hours in the game. I swear some of those snipers in those games have better aim than the bots.
How would you rank it in comparison to classic pubs?
I can't play FACEIT because the anti-cheat doesn't work on Linux, so there's another downside
There were a few reasons why I was a tad disappointed in my Faceit experience. It was clear to me from the beginning that the people of Faceit cared about the service they were developing and intended to be closely connected with the Tf2 community which is truly special, and I thank them for that. But my biggest gripes --aside from similar experiences with the enforcement of the anticheat-- was the map pool, and simply the fact that at the end of the day, they are community servers.
When it comes to the map, I strongly dislike the system in which the maps are chosen, giving one randomly chosen leader of each team a turn to eliminate maps they don't want. I ended up playing my first matches on Hightower which soured my experience by itself. Secondly, being a community server, I found I had worse latency in the Faceit games than I do on regular Casual, averaging about 140 ping, and frequently spiking to the point of the match being unplayable. Granted, my PC uses a wifi adapter, and while my connection stays consistently strong, an ethernet cable may make a difference.
Also, Faceit being based in community servers made me question if the anti cheat was necessary in the first place. I absolutely don't doubt that with the hype surrounding Faceit, some cheaters may have decided to try to target the Faceit servers to wreak more havoc. But in my time playing Tf2, I have never truly seen bots in community servers-- maybe because server admins can manually perma ban users, the cheating software can cycle through Casual games with less trouble, or maybe because I haven't played enough community servers to see how the bots have affected them. But the thought crossed my mind a lot when playing Faceit; is the anticheat really necessary?
Lastly, I grew frustrated with the matchmaking, as the lobbies depend on every selected player readying up when all of the players are found. I once was stuck in an endless (and very loud) loop of the trumpet sound playing, readying up, and having the lobby shut down because one person didn't hit the button.
I dont doubt that Faceit will continue to work hard to improve; they seem very interested in the community's feedback. But for now, Casual is still my preference, albeit in short spurts.
Edit: ALSO RTD, WHY IS THERE RTD
I would like to see faceit implement some sort of vote team scramble in the near future. It might not always get the votes it needs, but at the least option still exists and could possibly reduce one-sided matches (maybe it could even stop players from wanting to leave, who knows).
I've used faceit only once and one of the game decided to entere a loop of connecting and disconnecting to the same server. At some point, tired of it,i just closed the game and faceit bloody reopened it for me.
2:44 why is that gibus soldier so cute lmao
my problem is that it kills my frames
It's a lil annoying that they don't allow certain recording softwares.
I personally really do like Faceit though.
It doesn't need to be competitive if you don't want it to be.
I think there are some issues that I don't personally enjoy
Like that you can't alias and there's small issues that I do have with it but honestly
I really think it's a good change for TF2 due to all the bots everyone is clearly aware of and the major issues with casual TF2 like
Autobalance
Random Crits
Random Bullet spread
And unbalanced team skill
It will be imo pretty difficult to try and get everyone on properly balanced teams but now thinking about it they could probably just connect your TF2 level with Faceit's level system.
I think it's a fun experience, Faceit is still just every TF2 player in one pool of teams. I really like the idea of clans and the fact that bots are put on teams if people leave
I do have a gripe with a small bit of the leaving system
I think you should get a pass if you leave one game
But leaving another game within a certain time frame will put you on a five minute penalty and should be longer each time you leave a match in that time frame.
That or
If you leave you don't get points for it
Just like in normal casual. :>
Overall, I like Faceit. Despite it's issues it's gonna improve, we just gotta let them know how we feel about it. They want feedback for a reason. :)
Toofty, out of curiosity, have you read the terms and service regarding the anti-cheat? It literally says they can screenshot your desktop at any time. What’s your opinion on this?
Also, they own any data their anticheat "makes"
My biggest issue is the queue times. It ranges from 2-15 minutes for me, and while that's probably not Faceit's fault, more just a lack of people playing, it's still really annoying, since I can usually find Casual games in under fifteen seconds.
You can save a demo by going into the console and then typing "record (namehere)". And then record the faceit match by viewing the demo.
What hud do u use?
I like this video because I feel like he's an in-between.
Almost every tf2uber says "It's amazing"
Zesty Jesus Says it's terrible
and toofty is in the middle, and I like that
4:33 free uber
Quite a bit of points you mentioned were similar to what I thought about faceit. The biggest gripe for me about the experience was the team balance, almost always got steamrolled by pairs of kritz sticky spam demomen
Hey does anyone know the warpaint on his shotgun at 11:33
What is the name of this HUD?
Holy shit toofty also uses shadow
this is epic gamer
Obs doesnt work when you are playing on faceit?
What are you gonna do at 100k subs?
Q&A?
I have something special lined up.......
@@Toofty nice
I’ve been playing faceit for a time then went back to causal for a bit and Im just happy that there are no random melee critzs in faceit. That happened way to often for me.
My medic binds are now useful now!!!
Wait does this have the weapon ban thing?
12:02 look mum! I'm famous
The only thing that really kept me off from trying to play on these servers was that I was requested to download the Anti-cheat on my first game. I really don't like the idea of having a 3rd party program running on the background just so I can play the game.
90% of tf2 play time I have is on silly servers but trying out faceit it brings me back a little bit to how the game felt to me playing in the early days
Facit: makes a mistake
Community: that will be in my mind forever
YO for your next vid can u do a best pyro loadout or heavy
I can’t wait to get back to tf2 and see what I’ve missed
Faceit is good, but i dont like the rank stuff, it should be based on how many eliminations you get, how many caps you get, and how long you stay on a payload cart, because the ranked system is based off if you win the match and that’s entirely dependent on your team, and not based on individual skill.
these rhymes man
Just an Idea Toofy: you could record a demo and then when your done recording a few matches via the demo system you would then rerun and record them with shadow play. I know this isn't the best solution, but if you wanted still get footage using shadow play it could work. (there are setting in your ADV option to automatically record every game)
Hey Toofty. As for as Shadowplay goes, you can actually use it with FACEIT Anti Cheat by reverting the version of Nvidia Experience back to version 442.74
I have done so and Shadowplay has been working perfectly ever since. Also, I didn't experience any bugs or issues by using an older driver. Cheers.
Still shouldn't have to downgrade a graphics driver just to get past an anti cheat. Seems a major problem on the anti cheat's end.
