I don’t know if this is a feature but every time I try to call a vote on the bot it tells me that I can’t currently call a vote on this player

And there are heavy bots who didnt use aimbot but have the same name and before the no chat for f2p update said phrases from the heavy like you are dead not a big surprise in the chat

I see bots mostly on payload maps. Mostly upward and gold rush but sometimes they try to hide it, so some are apart of mygot and some are just kids that downloaded hacks on their computer
I did get some chat spam from the Matt is Donating bot, but it was more of a trickle than a flood
Lmaobox actually added a feature to their hacks allowing you to only target cat bots (myg()t's, mainly all of the other bots), so it looks like they have beef.

Honestly, bots are a lower scum than lmaobox. With lmaobox, you are a human, ruining the fun of maybe one server. Bots are widespread, and ruining the game for everyone.

MvM with no bomb and all the enemies are Expert Sniper bots who can headshot. And you can't see where they're aiming. And they look human.

Well, this is a HUGE chance that TF2 will get a VAC update soon, because "New VAC" is already been tested in CS:GO, and TF2 need this system very much

It might just be bad luck but yesterday I joined a server with a team of 7 sniper bots
There's always gonna be a batch of sniper bots, last night a saw a new variation of the mygot bots on the other team, it was 5 bots with 7 players on their team and it took forever for the votekicks to finally work
But compared to earlier this year the bots are almost a joke in comparison as there are so many that flat out miss even bodyshots in front of them
The other day I was playing Medic on a casual server, you could tell it was full of bots. Random players kept getting kicked out for cheating, 1 minute into the game. I was healing my team as usual and saw a voting poll to kick me, it disappeared in one second and a few seconds later I was kicked from the server. I just sat there for 5 minutes wondering what just happened. Did I just get kicked by bots or something?

@@matteb859 Nope, that's impossible. And *IF* you do, then you have no regard at all for other people's fun, which is the main problem, and it's wrong. Coding for aimbots or hacking in online games is for greedy egotisticals with negative IQ, they deserve every hate they get.
Programming is massive tool for great thing but at the same for bad stuff so there's absolutely no surprise that things like that are developed. That's good in a way because it allows to find bugs or exploits. The problem is valve which doesn't seriously try to solve it but allow malicious software ruin the game.

From my experience, the bot counts are usually pretty low, lower than they used to be back in March, but we still have to occasionally kick a bot from time to time

For me it’s the same, the only thing that changed (at least in my area) is that the bots can’t spam anymore

Myg0t are definitely lying imo, their whole community is dedicated to hacking and trolling multiplayer games, but apparently one angry former member is the one sending waves of bots into casual?
Also why DON'T they just hire the dedicated fans who're working on this game for free? It might be expensive and take a lot of paperwork, but it could revitalize the game (and its profitability) like when Sega hired fans to work on their new Sonic projects.

Unless they start vetting fans work to give out their source code, and at that point it's just easier to hire those fans or do the work in house, and those are both too much effort for Valve because they don't give enough of a shit.

The bots can now vote “yes” for you to kick other players if you don’t vote “no” and my bloody f2 button is broken
I think you can bind f2 to another key. By console or settings.
The other guy who commented is right, you can change the binding for that. : 3 Could change it to your numberpad keys, or "j" and "k" for yes and no.

One time I went into a Swiftwater game, and the enemy never kicked, he ended up getting auto balanced because the other team is shit, and we kicked him, We then rolled the enemy team with ease.
Supposably, a person named OG Badger was banned from the mygot group and is now trying to frame them by naming the bots mygot. But I personally don't believe it

I have been seeing bots regularly all over the place in my games. I tend to play on KOTH and Payload, and they can be numerous. Sometimes you'll see six of the same bot join at once, too, of various types. And trying to kick them fails miserably because all the bots on the team automatically vote no, so you can't get rid of them. It is genuinely ruining my enjoyment of the game.
Except this one time the whole server conspired to just camp the bots. The humans on the bot team were happily assisting in this and we spent like twenty minutes on Dustbowl just camping bots.

If you vite kick for scam or something thats not the default or cheating they will probably ignore. Lazy af script lmao
reminds me of this paid game medic who warned me that i shouldnt hoovy in the server when i tried because its basically just bots on the other team execpt for this one demonight. we literally took like ten minutes to converse with our team and devise a plan to kill some bots. we have two heavys two medics, the demoknight on thier team would attempt to block thier shots as our fifth player as a scout distracted them. we killed a few of them, died alot. then a bunch of bots named like me rushed the server and we left or got kicked. Fun times though, just happened eailer today.
It’s really sad but also hilarious that the bots have more dedicated and passionate devs than tf2
Gotta admit, even though we don’t have the Heavy Update, I’m still happy that Valve (The TF2 Team) cares enough about TF2 to at least try and take care of the bot issue.

I love how the devs are paying attention to other bugs just improving quality of life changes
They just need to make it so that a certain number of kicks will result in a temp ban, then a certain number after that perm ban. They also need to take into account how many times an account has had a vote called in a certain time. Also making it so that a server ban goes through even if the player has left the match.
Issue with that is, if they kick players that aren't that good, soon enough those players wont be able to play anymore

See, I can imagine a very simple IP Logger software could be useful here.
I don't know too much about computers, but an IP logger checks who's joining, and how they leave. If they get kicked or are voted to be kicked and leave, it sends a ping to a server with the IP. If it happens enough in a short amount of time, then the IP is flagged to be inspected or is straight-up suspended. This should result in bots causing IP bans which would eventually exterminate them, or at least cause them to be heavily slowed down as they would need to change their IP between games, decreasing the amount of damage they do.

@Glorious Bastard i would pay the price, its not just to ban someone who whas inoccent but seeing the actual situation of bots it could be a good way of getting some of them out of the game, maybe after the bot crisis slows down they could deactivate the system and try to unban the innocent accounts
IP bans in 2020 are a flawed system, look up IPv4 address exhaustion.

I've definitely seen a lot more Fists of Steel heavies around, presumably to counter these bots. Sounds like fun.
It may be a waste of time and not help the problem, but screw it. If I get some personal satisfaction out of it, that's all I care about.
That's another good idea. Atleast it's something so go at it but hopefully that doesn't encourages the bots when the heat gets hotter.
Bots do like ten damage to a fist of steel heavy so it's easy to get them
fully charged headshots still do 270 damage, enough to reduce a heavy to 30 health
I'm happy to say that the bot situation is almost non existent in south America.
Chilean, Argentinian and Brazilian servers are mostly free of them, and we we do get one or two, we vote them out immediately
I’m interested in opinions of the impact of a remastered edition.
What I’m hoping for is: The story won’t change, because it’s wonderfully perfect as it is (unless you bring in the fact that it’s almost complete) and the only thing that would change is the level of graphics (as in requiring a better graphics card and easier on the eyes, no change to the art style) and lawsuits to the hackers.

Hey, another big thing you can do that will really help out is to check out Pazer OP's "TF2 Bot Detector" program. It's a program that uses rcon and other such publicly available information for the matches you're in to find, detect, and attempt to kick bots. It's open source and is constantly being updated. You may remember the bots having their names set to "Pazer" a little while back as a reaction against the bot detector, but currently, the most up to date versions have got just about every workaround the bots had for it fixed, and it works like a charm. The best case scenario would be a lot of players with this program running so that bots can get detected and kicked more quickly.

Two months later and I've seen mostly mygot bots which are, so easy to spot that they get kicked the moment they join a team
Personally, I've been running into bots less recently, like the last two weeks. Idk why, and also one person's experience is obvi not equivalent or even comparable to the entire playerbase. But yeah, I'm riding a lucky wave.
I have been seeing bots often recently and this is what I observed thst is worth noting.
They do prioritize what they shoot at first when they have multiple targets. They usually shoot medics first, then they go for the nearest player, then sentries, then other engineer buildings and the last thing they shoot at are sticky bombs. However, they will never shoot other bots.
They can appear in most gamemodes but are most common in cp and koth maps and just sit on whatever point they need to capture or defend and often just all group up in one spot making it rather easy for demoman to blast several bots to bits with a few pipes and stickies.
I have noticed that bots nearly always have the cosy camper and the hitman heatmaker equipped mainly to make headshots more lethal and to heal up without medics and medkits.
A new but uncommon thing to happen is some bots go heavy instead of sniper and equip the tomslav. They basically still aim like a bot except they are now much more lethal at close range and have more health.

This week I've joined into a few payload casual servers were cheaters have been vote kicking random players for no reason. Like someone can join a server & the cheater can instantly vote kick them without giving them a chance to even play. The funny thing is that the vote is usually always successful. As a day one player of the game I really really hope that valve can find a solid permanent fix for this whole bot pandemic. I love this game and don't want it going away any time soon, but really appreciate anything that valve does to at least help us fight the bots in some way or another....

heavy bots are either cringe aimbots or silly sandvich dispensers.
they all do hurt team fortress 2 as a game anyway so u gotta kick him if its an actual bot and not just friendly.

Man i remember one time a bot/hacker joined a match and someone on my team toggled their hacks and focused him. Then after it was kicked he left.

This kind of situation makes me think about questions like... "Do human players rather play with other human players or bots?"
Because there are aimbots, noclip bots, whatever bots, and a human could be just bad at the game, he couldn't do a 360 noscope clipping through the map or constant headshots..

Today is the day I'm over with TF2 for a while, I joined an OFFICIAL Dustbowl server with VAC (or also call joke) and immediately spotted that my entire team was full of BOTS, the thing is that I already saw normal bots with aimbot, music bots, text bots, etc... But this was the worse, literally 4 bots with the same name and i won in one second after the setup and in 5 secs more i was banned by the BOTS ITSELF and I had a black screen, so I quit with ALT+F4 and deinstall it and run an antivirus scan just to be sure.

I recently came across a spybot and medic bots are more and more common now
I have only have seen 1 - 2 bots per server now. I dont know if its because bots are playing certain maps or what.
there are players that might be bots that snipe me instantly after I peek my head out and spy crabs that snipe me too
Friend wanted to do casual. I kept telling him there'd be hackers but he didn't listen. Joined 3 games before moving to a community server. Each game had at least two bots on the same team, one had three, all text spamming blank characters so you couldn't see the chat. It's still horrible.
There's quite a few reasons why one bot would wanna pretend to be another, but it mostly just falls under detection. If someone is going to program VAC to look for it, they need to know how the thing works. there's 2 ways of doing this, ether by memory dumps from the game that might have personal information since they would need to know what processes your running or by acquiring the bot itself for analysis. Anti-cheat is hard, Hell Blizzard decided to sue bot makers rather then update their Anti-cheat warden, now even blizzard is paying for it, since there's so many bots in wow classic now. so it's not an easy problem to solve, but if bot makers can keep the devs of the game from getting it to take it apart then they have the leg up. WoW even has a private bot i heard, you have to know someone to get it. so that's yet another way of keeping it out of the dev's hands by just not making it public.
As far as why they're doing it...maybe money? idk id think if you could just activate the accounts and it just ran around and got kills then you could scrap all the drops and turn that scrap into creates for items you can sell on the market. but that probably has it's own problems. and who knows if it is 1 guy running dozens of accounts who's to say the cheap bad looking ones aren't masking the more human looking ones that are actually farming items, that would be a good way of keeping your bots hidden, developing a bigger bot problem and not becoming the main target.
Now, I always thought if it was possible to ban someone through their device and not through their ip which could be easily bypassed by a vpn. If you could ban from a device, you could ban every single bot without them using a vpn.
Brand new tf2 player here, the bots have really discouraged me from casual matchmaking, but I've never seen a 'bot' in MvM.

As far as I've noticed right now the bots are slowly calming down and any bots in most of the servers I've played in get kicked before they can even spawn in. Although I have joined a few servers where it's only bots on both teams.
You been playin in Custom Games? Cause Casual is basically the Competitive scene now, where more bots are forming than ever. I hear even Creators.Tf are facing waves of these bots and the Community Servers seem to be the current last bastion of hope. Bots overwhelm, some even have mass vote on so even if its a 10:1 vote, they stick in the team like glue. Team Fortress 2 is in a bad roll rn, not as bad as early 2020, with those damn Lag Bots. But it is similar in near unplayability. Nowhere is safe anymore now.

9:00 I've seen a few good bots before. medi bots (that actually heal and aren't just sniper bot assists), hoovy bots, and even a scout bot once-- wasn't even being annoying, literally just trying to cap intel without any exploits super weird-- though I admit that last one's a lot less acceptable. imo, medic bots *can* be good. especially in small matches, since teams can be at major disadvantages without a med and often times most people don't want to play medic very much. if nothing else, they fill a slot that isn't super harmful and helps keep the greify bots away. and I'd love to see progress made on hoovy bots, the idea being to make one that's friendly enough to be able to survive and knows how to avoid conflict. even that could get bad if there were tons of them, but at least they aren't fully ruining matches

I haven't played much but when the problem was big I only saw 1 Bot in the Asia servers
I was a f2p until just a few weeks ago. I only started playing TF2 this year, and once voice chat and text chat were taken away from me, I had to buy something so I could play, and actually interact with the people I'm playing with. I'm kind of sad that this game has become essentially a pay-to-play game, but at the same time I don't feel too bad about finally paying valve for the many hours I've played.
As a person who started during this bot problem I can say I was kicked just for being f2p back in early 2020 when F2Ps could still talk but then they got restricted to only voice commands then we lost our voice fully no chat commands nothing!
I had to become P2P and I don't regret it

I was once kicked from a server by a bot. People were kicking all the bots when a person asked “any bots on our team?” When a anti bot-bot that I was recking said I was one. Then one of my teammates started a vote kick on me and I tried to explain quickly. My teammates already made up their mind and kicked me out. My mother then went to my room out of curiosity. I then told her the story and she then told me I was “overreacting” and told me to delete the game. I FUCKING HATE BOTS.
It's so sad seeing this happen even though I've never had the opportunity to play. I've always wanted to and would absolutely hop in for hours without hesitation if given an option.
My advice? Wait till f2ps can speak again, or buy something for the game so you can speak

easiest way to avoid bots is just to play on Australian servers, we get like 1 bot every 4 or 5 games lmao

i actually see bots joining mvm servers. we don't try to kick them because they help the team without harming other players, but they end up disconnecting anyway.
cheaters litterally left such a big scar on tf2 new players cant do shit other than just play the game
