As an avid UA-camr I can honestly say you are by far the most knowledgeable mechanic I have found. Real world experience and honest no nonsense approach. I enjoy every episode. Good photography and sound too.

GREASE: You asked I answer. I used to be in charge of our fleet of fire apparatus. A few of them had AIR DISC BRAKES. This type of brake needs grease, or greeze as some say. We experienced frequent brake drag with pulling and overheating. Our maint shop loved to greeze the zerks, zerts or greeze zerts. ( which actually are alemite fityings and have been for years but I digress). On the air brake calipers, first they require a clay based grease that is better at low temperature. Then when greezing a caliper you first open the vent, fill it with grease until it comes out the vent then manually back the caliper off until it stops all the while pushing grease out the vent, THEN readjust the brake and finally close the vent remembering to clean away all the grease. Needless to say, the last 3 Fire engines I purchased came with drum brakes. So there Mr Obro! see where this goes!

I'm pretty sure Napa's suspension parts used to be made by Moog and were good quality parts. I know there Napa gold filters are made by Wix, unless they changed that too. Anything to save a penny, doesn't matter if it's safe or not. Astro should offer that air hammer to the public. Your video's alone would sell 1000 of them. As always, good video.

I was out in your neck of the woods last week. I did you the solid favor of Not stoping in for a visit. Will be back that way next week, maybe I will have less restraint.

Another great video from SMA! As a 55 year aircraft technician, your installation of that cotter pin was a textbook example of a correct installation!! You are probably the only person I'd trust to work on my vehicles! I have a lift in my shop, and I do all of my own work.

  • @airmailman1971

Eric, you are the ONLY one on the internet installing cotter pins correctly!!! I would expect nothing less from the car god. Thanks for another great video.

  • @markmawson1

It DOESN'T MATTER what way the cotter/split pin is bent as long as it doesn't touch or foul any rotating component and the pin doesn't fall out plain and simple so there is no right or wrong way to bend it.

  • @robbrobb2161

Eric, this is like sitting down with an old friend and talking while the job is getting done. Thanks Robb

In case he goes to a car show...😂. Whenever I go to a car show, I'm always hunting for those Chrysler 200s. This remains my favorite UA-cam channel.

Actually your way of bending the cotter pin is the way I was taught and the way I have done it for 40 years.

  • @starcarrier1874

I’m so glad SMA has the honesty to identify inferior products. With prices skyrocketing, I can’t afford to waste money on junk parts. Many of us have to keep our older vehicles on the road and safe. Thank you!

  • @leetjn5663

We've gone full circle. The first video I found of yours was when I was looking up how to do a Chrysler 200 front lower ball joint. Here we are 5 years later and I still watch everything you put out. You were a great find. Thanks for all the hard work putting these out over the years and helping so many people!

  • @Larry-kh7rw

    A Sunday morning treat!!

  • @chrismccaskell7156

I know you're a busy man and it takes time for your videos but they are the best on UA-cam. You're a hell of a teacher and I like your since of humor. Have a Great day Eric O.

  • @davidgriffin14

    Good morning everyone.

  • @Danzilly

Eric is a surgeon with a torch!
