Awesome video Robbie! The video quality seems fine to me. It is so amazing how you can catch amazing fish like that in a small creek. But yet another very entertaining and amazing video thanks Robbie!
Mate that's the kind of trout fishing dreams are made of. Some proper thumpers there! I could sleep under that waterfall at the end of the vid lol. Cracking video
those r some quality wild fish you showcased. kinda amazing to find a fish that size AND amount thrilling in a small environment like where you were. i wonder if these trout will eventually move on to different waters if there is a flooding in the area or something.
Brown trout can be invasive. They will usually coexist with other predatory fish but will also compete for resources. And because they have both fluvial and andranamous populations they can spread to other rivers that way as well, although it is quite rare.
Little creeks are fun. I catch nice sized cutthroats up to 35cm in the little creeks near my home in mid Spring. I've only lived here 5 years. Long time locals (50+ yrs) keep telling me that there's nowhere to catch trout in these creeks. I show them pictures and they accuse of lying about where I caught them. I just laugh and go catch more trout.
Autumn trout fishing is great. Whether you start fishing the downstream end or the upstream end of the hole is less relevant than the layout of cover in the hole. The layout of cover factors heavily into which direction a hooked fish is likely to swim, which in turn factors into whether or not the hooked fish spooks the other fish. This especially true with trout and char.
You really can't go wrong with worms, it is the ultimate freshwater bait. Catching so many fish would definitely heal that injured finger. Well done Robbie.
I've been watching your videos for several years now and they're always entertaining. I've seen you catch a bunch of trout but I don't think I've ever seen you take home to eat 1
Hi mate, I keep the occasional one. Unfortunately fisheries no longer stock trout into the creek like they use to, so they are left to fend for themselves which makes me a little bit apprehensive about taking many. I did keep a couple in a video just recently though, for the mate that I was fishing with.
Thanks so much Deb. I agree, it is such a beautiful and fresh smell. We both have a few photos on the RedBubble website. We don't actively set out to sell them but if anybody ever wanted to buy one we definitely would.
Hi Robbie, that was awesome mate,I just love the passion you have with your fishing.i absolutely loved this episode mate. P.s. there was nothing wrong with the lighting! The footage was great. Anyway brother till the next adventure. Mick 🤘
There's nothing better than this. I used fish very small streams. It's way more exciting than bigger ones or rivers. The fish are more hungry and active as well
Haha thanks mate. I'm not sure if my fly rod will get a lot of attention now until spring time. Hopefully I can get it out one more time. I'm a fair weather fly fisherman. LOL
Still plenty of time left for the Dry mate…You should get yourself a pair of wading boots with a pair of wet suit boots…been using them for years..walk with ease🤓👍
Great video Robbie got some beautiful trout as usual I'm fishing at the river in Wagga again tommorow with my brothers and mum so hopefully that will be good haha we'll done Robbie 🎉
Really Robbie you are like the fish whisperer. Those trout are saying hay Robbie catch me Buddy lol fantastic fishing it’s bloody magical stuff and you couldn’t make this stuff up lmao 🤣

Hey Robbie, I would like to see you attempting to fish a Squirmie Wormie beneath an indicator on the fly rod. Would be an interesting experiment to see whether it catches as many fish as a natural worm. Maybe an idea for a future video. Another very entertaining presentation again, well done.

Hiya rob Mate cracking, I had to rush home and watch on the big screen....how many people would have walked past that water and not giving it a second look ??? Fools just shows you.... Well done rob absolutely super fishing...😎🏴
It's a testament to the three relatively wet years we have had that you got fish like the ones you got in this stream today at this time of year. It is great to see but how long will it last with a confirmed El Nino on the way. As they say, enjoy it while you can.
Hey Robbie! Ali from Mildura here again, just wanted to ask if you have heard about the man made lake in Ouyen where they have trout, perch and other fresh water species. They made this so we don’t have to only catch carp as we do in the Murray river up here. It’s like 80 percent carp unfortunately.
Hi mate, I sure have. I wanted to fish it when I was over that way last September but couldn't get there unfortunately. Hopefully I can get there one day this year.
After watching this video I decided to do the exact same thing as you but I didn’t go as well. There’s a creek near my house that’s very similar to this one and it’s got heaps of trout in it. I used some big earthworms with a running sinker rig but they wouldn’t latch on. I had some strikes and a few bites as I reeled it in but nothing else. I’m not sure what I did wrong. The trout were there and I accidentally spooked one. They just weren’t really going for the worms. I’m going back tomorrow but I might use a surface lure or use worms again except with a paternoster rig this time. I used the smallest hooks that I have but they just wouldn’t take it… you’ve done extremely well though and as always I love watching your videos
@@robbiefishing no worries 👍🏻 I tried with spinners and curl tail grubs and I got some follows but no bites 🤷🏻♂️ why do you reckon they weren’t going for my bait and so on? I went at about the time they were feeding but they weren’t very interested in the worms or anything. I’d love to catch at least one of these trout. I’ve tried everything I can think of…
A few questions for ya mate, then I'll try to help you dial in on the bite. 1) which species of trout or char are you targeting? 2) water turbidity- how clear is the water? 3) how recntly has it rained? And how much did that raise the water level? 4) Does the stream drain into; the sea, the main stem of a River that drains into the sea, another tributary of a river system, a reservoir or impound, etc.? 5) Are you using actual earthworms or nightcrawlers? 6) Are setting the hook before attempting to land a fish? 7) Are you using the correct weight for the current of the stream and hook size for the size and species of trout?
@@eattheinvaders.3037 I’m going for brown and rainbow trout and the creek runs into another river. Before I fished it rained a couple of weeks prior. I used a running sinker rig with a very small sinker and some earthworms. The water is very clear and it’s hard to hide in order to not spook the fish.
@@Jack-ny4vu Earthworms break apart too easily. Switch to night crawlers. Best time of day is going to be last 2 hours of daylight. Make sure that you're drifting the bait instead of bouncing it along the bottom. Also try lightweight silver or gold spoon type lures and or white or chartreuse lures with gold or silver spin blades.
Hi mate, good luck on your trout fishing trip. My biggest tip is to check out my trout fishing playlist. There's hundreds of videos in there, all loaded with tips.

Hi mate, I actually answered this in the video. LOL I believe they're swam up there to spawn in another month or so, and will probably move back down when they're finished.
A bit of both. But like Robbie was saying, the presence of that many when there didn't appear to be that many earlier in the summer is a clear indicator that many of these came from downstream and are migrating to the spawning beds.

Yes man you are very lucky. Where is the location where you caught this one.?NSW, SOUTH Australia or Victoria? Near the Murray river? At least we can try some other time.
Your theory sounds about right to me but I would have thought that maybe they would not have been feeding as strongly if it is prep for spawning. With the rain maybe there is a lot of feed in the water?
I think so mate. We've had a lot of rain. I don't think they're ready to spawn yet, I think they've swam upstream to leek for a partner, but probably still 4 weeks of spawning yet.
They definitely feed more intensely coming up.on spawning season. The rain and increased water levels thereof are more of a trigger to start moving toward the spawning grounds and aren't necessary for the fish to begin pre-spawn feasting.
For Australian small water trout, there were some donkeys in amongst them. It just goes to show that you should never say "never". I can't say I 've ever eaten trout, but I'd like your opinion on whether browns or rainbows eat better in general.
Thanks mate. They're both quite similar. When they eat crustaceans like yabbies and shrimp their flesh gets really orange. To be honest, they're not the nicest eating fish. Quite bland and dry. Smoking them is the best way to eat them.
For trout that come from the same stream I would give the edge to rainbow tasting ever so slightly better. It more depends on the stream where you catch them. They typically taste better when caught from clear cold waters.
