What was that taking off through the water at 12:22? It seemed really dark, but really fast! Good to see the trout so fired up for you mate, bloody beautiful fish as well. Spewing you came onto that second hand water but at least the lure change got them biting again! Great video.

What a ripper Robbie! The videos that have some good tips and explanations are the ones I enjoy the most. Having your feet in that cool clear water must have helped keep you cool on what was obviously a pretty warm day. The scenery was magnificent.

Hi Dimitar, thank you so much for your kind words. I will definitely try to ensure that I am mentioning what I am doing. I do mention it often so you may find plenty of tips in some of my older videos.
The biggest tip would be how to get to those locations. Location is everything when fishing, some areas have virtually no fish, others are packed with fish. No amount of lure changing will make a bad fishing spot become good. The best thing to do is to try to find good spots, by exploring, which obviously you do a lot. I utitlise bing and google satellite view in order to find areas. If I didn't have these available, I really wouldn't have any idea where to go, because the most common areas everyone knows about, like under the local bridge etc, all are horrible, since people are there all the time and fish never settle there to live as a result.
Cicadas are having a party up in that bish lol. Great job on the trout slaying em lately. With the waterproof thingy I think you can shake the Hero 7 to get rid of the water.

With the qualifier that trout is a catch and release fish for me as well, I am curious as to why you never keep any for a feed. Fresh trout (wild or hatchery raised) is hard to beat as food.

LOL I use to keep a few trout from streams but as trout stocking is very limited these days and the fish are left to fend for themselves I prefer to release them. This creek has a healthy population and could certainly sustain a fish harvest, but unfortunately most of the streams in my area are not as good as this one.
Do you guys get wild rainbows and broonies down unda. We occasionally catch rainbows here in the wild but those are just escapees from fish farms or people thats put them in the water ways. Crackin days fishing buddy
Hi mate we sure do. I reckon 99% of the trout that I catch on my channel are wild. They were stocked originally, but not for a long time. Stockings do take place in some lakes and sometimes the trout may or may not be stocked in those areas, but in these streams most of them are wild mate.
Fantastic video Robby ! Would you know any good trout spots near the Daylesford area? There’s not many streams except the Lerderderg River but that drys up so I’m not too sure if it holds fish.

Hi mate thanks for the comment. This was filmed mid to late morning. Approx 10am to 12pm. I had lunch when I got back to my car before going fly fishing. The jighead was (from memory) 1/16 oz.
