I wonder why dudleyas aren’t as common or talked about like Echeverias. I’ve never heard of dudleyas until now! They are beautiful!

Dudleyas are indeed beautiful, but like many CA native plants, they can be challenging to grow in cultivated gardens. Hybridization will make these wild beauties more adaptable and available.

I look forward to that, I live in Phoenix and getting my hands on Echeverias or rosette succulents that are colorful that can handle our summer outside even with my intervention was difficult this year (my first summer venturing outside the aloe, agave and cacti world of succulents). I recall your video featuring Dick Wright and his som talked about a hybridized Echeveria to handle high heat.....impossible to find even online! However I’m hopeful that what I’ve discovered at the end of this summer turns out to be what was the actual turning point for a few of my Echeverias that did well after experimenting. I just have to wait a handful of months to find out!

    how do you water?

    • @QueenofSucculents

That info is in my books and on my website, but basically the answer is: "It depends." Factors include time of year, type of plant, humidity, location in the garden, how much sun or shade, weather (dry and hot or rainy), type of soil, how large the pot and plant are, etc. But OK, here's what I tell my audiences: "I water once a week until it flows out the bottom of the pot."

How much time it takes to germinate. I ve done exactly same as you have shown in your video. 5 days already completed. No any sign of germination. Plz suggest.

Still no any germination. While i was searching the information, u came to know that online purchasing may not get you original succulent sesed. This could be one reason for non germination. Bcz my germination tray had passed late summer followed by monsoon. And now winter is coming.

Germinating from seeds I’ve heard can take up towards 1-2yrs. just to become 1-2inches?
Apparently it’s better just to walk around n pick the leaves to get some from friends and family gardens HAHAHAHA! 🤣 😂 🤣 😂
I purchased over 100 types of succulent seeds online..... and still have to grow them. I’m SO SCARED they won’t take, or I will kill them.

I apologize. Hopefully there's enough good info in the video to warrant keeping it online. NOTE: When the sound isn't great, we're well aware of it, and would fix it if we could.
