Dudleya britonii 💞💞
Hello 👋 Beautiful dudleya 😍
This plant reminds me of a hen and chicks.
Koby, I grew up in So Cal and camped, surfed and hiked the N Baja coast. I loved the Dudleya b. so much that i got one for my house in the inner East Bay, in Pleasant Hill, near Concord, CA. Mine is in the ground for 5 years now. It's huuuge. Do you know how to propagate/cultivate them?
Cheers,
Our lives are so enriched with plants, wonderful associations as for the Dudleya: I have not tried to propagate brittoni, I buy it from nurseries which I think often grow them from seed, which takes some careful patience because they start out tiny and slow.
Hi how much water would they take in a desert like environment (very hot in summer and cool in winter)
That answer is listed at 4:12 in the video.
Hi! Have you propagated from seeds before? Any advice? Mine sprouted but I'm having a hard time making them grow more. It's been a month and they've stayed the same size as when they sprouted..
I have not tried Dudleya from seed. I would think that like their native environment, bright light, good drainage, and not drying out - would be good to start. I would imagine that the growth would be naturally slow-growing also. Best wishes for your success!
@@KobysGardenAlchemy thank you for your insight! I'll probably buy one now lol. There's a bunch that sprouted.. But taking way too long to see a difference
and a limestone rich rocky media with pots tilted at a sharp angle for absolutely good drainage.
@@haroldjones9321 you had success, sir?
Mine were unsuccessful 😢
Do the Dudleya britonii prefer a rock or soil base?
Either, as long as it has good drainage: as in a pot (with drainage holes) or sloping ground (not constantly soggy soil.).
Thank you! I live in Ca Coastal Sagebrush plant community. My soil is heavy clay.
@@tongsllc dudleya should grow well there, give it good drainage and slope. The ground can stay wet during winter but not summer. Create conditions just like that.
