Ironically, she's correct that she has the right to travel freely, but that just means she doesn't need a passport to go from one state to the next. Since there is no federal driver license, the states have the right to license drivers per the 10th amendment. I learned this in 9th grade. I learned that from a government teacher who wore plaid pants with the waistband pulled up to his armpits.

If no valid license, suspended or revoked or valid Insurance the vehicle was towed. The department also did a inventory list of content in vehicle. This form helped when vehicle towed so department or tow company wouldn't get accused of things missing also video of contents. I'm proud to say other counties adopted our policy!!!

Right to travel according to the Supreme Court:
The right of a citizen to travel upon the public highways and to transport his property thereon, by horsedrawn carriage, wagon, or automobile, is not a mere privilege which may be permitted or prohibited at will, but a common right which he has under his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Right to travel according to The Constitution of the United States:
The right to travel is a part of the "liberty" of which a citizen cannot be deprived without due process of law under the Fifth Amendment.
This is where sovcits get confused:
The 10th Amendment was ratified on December 15, 1791. It makes clear that any powers that are not specifically given to the federal government, nor withheld from the states, are reserved to those respective states, or to the people at large.
In other words, it prohibits the federal government from forcing states to pass or not pass certain legislation, or to enforce federal law. Traffic regulations in the United States are enacted and administered by the States rather than the Federal government.
Drivers must obey local and state traffic laws. Driving without a valid driver's license is a crime in all 50 states.
