Beach fishing is the toughest fishing I've done.....wind is a normal & being burnt from blowing sand is just another day on the . Wish I had the bucks

If you can't build a reel where literally the simplest components aren't reliable how reliable do you think that complex water resistant rating is?
Agree, but I took it home and cleaned it out. Now it works like it never happened. A bunch of sand got into the out spool by the clicker mechanism, had to wipe all that stuff down. No sand or w a ter inside the reel or the drag though which is good.

Why don't you get a South African developed rod. Very different to what you using. Those look uncomfortable with the reel so high up the rod for surf fishing.
