I'm playing since 2013 on my Xbox 360 and now on Xbox one and it's good to play this game is ahead of it's time and it's still a masterpiece I believe and I wish we had 60fps on Xbox (one) to but it's very nice it's not even bad in my opinion very fun game

I started playing this game around 3 weeks ago and I’m having the time of my life. I never experienced such fun in all the video games that I have played, I will definitely after fully completing it, move on to undead nightmare. Overall, Rockstar is one of the most hardworking and amazing gaming companies of all time.
Great vid! Agree with everything here, and anyone who even thinks about being bored at the start of this game - it is purely an introduction into the epic world of Red Dead Redemption.. I played this to death on release and damn I'll never forget that first ride into Mexico.. unreal, no game will ever make you feel the way this one does.
Undead nightmare was just too good to be true aswell, I remember spending (irl) nights hunting the legendary Chubacabra, only to finally spot him and nail it one in the head, that was the final hunt until the Unicorn came swooping in. What a time to be alive, literally epic times for gaming.

I’m playing through all the online modes right now on ps3 for trophy hunting purposes and btw the undead nightmare mode can still very much be played. In fact it’s surprising just how active the online still is and despite it not looking its best or performance not being that amazing on the old ps3 it’s still offers a great time! Like you mentioned the stripped back simplicity really helps, there’s still a ton of stuff to play and do though.
Rdr 1 is more fun than rdr 2 in a lot of ways. The wanted system and being psycho jack is actually really fun. It’s not nearly as complex as rdr 2, but it’s really good and has a lot of funny and shocking dialogue. Rdr 1 is more like a parody if spaghetti westerns and just more fun in my opinion.
Wanna hear a crazy story I just picked up Slaps & Beans 2 last week and liked it which brought me back to RDR in my backlog.. And now Call of Juarez Gunslinger.. In conjunction with the Nic Cage westerns.. I guess the genre was meant to trend this year.. Hopefully I won’t get distracted again and stick with the series this time til completion

RDR 1 was the second ever western game I played back in early 2010's (the first being Call of Juarez) and I remember being a kid and always asking my mom to buy me another one bc I'd literally play it until it broke or got too scratched
I literally played it for the first time in march. Already completed the main story and undead nightmare. Now I'm trying to get the platinum

I would definitely recommend to anybody, ESPECIALLY since the 60FPS update. Looks like a freaking whole new game.
It also has a story expansion called Undead Nightmare, so once you actually beat RDR1, the fun doesnt stop there! Because now you get Wild West ZOMBIES!!!

I started playing it recently on Xbox 360, it’s very difficult to see at some points but it’s still super fun
This is truly one of Rockstars best, for a 2010 game it still holds up really well. Though the fact the game never got a PC port is wild, and what is even more criminal is this game right now on the Playstation store is on SALE and still more EXPENSIVE than RDR 2 right now.. $56 AUD for RDR and $30 AUD for RDR 2... Actually dumb. Can only recommend if you have a PS3 or are an Xbox player tbh, physical copies for old gen are extremely cheap if you know where to look.
You can easily emulate switch version rdr on pc

@@Nitroh- use ryujinx emulator, right now it's the best emulator to play rdr, and it runs this game very smooth even with gtx 1050 gpu yuzu is 2nd best followed by xenia

Awesome video! You’ve convinced me to play it again. This game was my childhood and I loved it then and like you said, playing it now I’ll have a bigger appreciation for it. The story is truly unmatched. It’s sad we have to play 10+ year old game to get a decent story. Games nowadays just don’t compare.

It was the first game I've ever played years and years ago. Now I just started rdr2 unluckiky knowing a lot of spoilers and it's hard for me to get into this as much as i want
I’m actually going to play RDR PS5 now lol. And now that I know the online is still up on ps3, I might just jump back into it
I own this game on Xbox 360 and it was awesome, I played through whole story but only thing that bothered me was when you travel big distance by the horse you freez in place and textures just dont load, on pause menu everything is gone but you can hear when scrolling but some says its either because I use one save or game didnt save properly last time and save got damaged still I didn't mind game is still good
I started playing again mainly for the story got 100% percent in RDR2 and wonted to do in RDR1 because it completes the hole entire story dust from RDR2 aswell it's like playing a massive movie in my opinion 😊

Introduction: *I hope this message finds you well. Read carefully!*
Part 1: Using the lasso to catch a horse
Introduction: *Ah, this mission brings back horrible memories. First off, you want to get used to handling the lasso. To equip it, open the hotbar tab (the one where you can see your equipped guns, etc) and equip the lasso. Next, follow Bonnie and her father to where the horses are at. Now, for the actual lassoing part.*
How to lasso:
• Get near the horses
• Aim the lasso on one of the horses, then fire (like firing a gun, but DON'T USE A GUN!!!!)
•Get off the horse once you successfully lasso a horse. Do note that Bonnie and her father will support you, so you can get off the horse and unlasso the horse. *DO NOTE THAT YOU STILL HAVE TO HOLD THE FIRE BUTTON WHILE GETTING OFF THE HORSE AND WALKING TO IT*
• Stay on balance - as much as possible, prompt the L button on the middle. Wiggle it left and right slightly and simultaneously.
Keynotes:
• Practice using the lasso
• Follow the steps on how to lasso
• Pray that you won't fall off the horse
• Don't worry, if you fail just try again. Get comfy with the controls.
Part 2: Leading the herd
*Introduction: This mission is exactly like the cow mission, but with faster horses.*
Notes:
Do note that you have to stay behind the horses and get them to move to the canyon. If you notice a horse isn't going in the right way, don't worry, just lead the rest of the horses to the canyon, the lost horse will follow the pack eventually.
Keynotes:
• Stay behind the horses
• To make them go left, go to the right. To make them go right, go to the left. If you want them to go forward, stay behind them
• One horse may stray away, let it be. It will follow the pack eventually. If it doesn't then manually round it/ the other lost horses back up.
• To make them go faster, tap the *upper arrow key* on the left side of the controller.
Part 3: Capturing the Golden Stallion
Introduction:
*Congrats if you've made it this far! Your efforts paid off and now you're at the last stage of this annoying mission!*
How to capture the golden stallion:
• *Force it to drain its stamina* - keep following it around until it walks
• *Lasso it* - same procedures as How to Lasso on Part 2, but this process will take a bit longer so be patient and try again.
Keynotes:
• Not much :pp

p.s #2, I suggest watching some UA-cam on how to do the mission, and reading the wiki (if there is one) by searching *Wild Horses, Tamed Passions tutorial.*
p.s #3, The lasso can be used to capture bounties alive (disable them first by shooting the leg then using the lasso to capture them or straight up using the lasso on them), and getting another horse (I suggest reading which horses are the best)

Just beat it for the first time a few weeks ago after not playing it for 10 years, it’s most definitely worth it, especially if you played red dead 2’s story then play rd1 after, it’s even better

Love the game. But after playing red dead 2, it's hard to play this one Only because of the graphics. Everything else is amazing. But the graphics and the controls kind of suck compared to the second one
If they change the graphics like what naughty dog did on the last of us...this is a GOLD to play again. Sad it still looks like a ps3 game
You spoke about everything except its gameplay and the shooting mechanism. Like its successor, it’s fun playing RDR; a great adventure game, but very poor game when it comes to shooting. It shouldn’t be classified as a shooter. Actually all Rockstar games shouldn’t.
Maxpayne3 3 is amazing shooter. RDR1 has great Ragdolls.

TBH, I’m glad that they didn’t do Undead Nightmare for 2. For me, that’s going to the well to many times. If they had put out DLC for 2, I would have rather played as Charles or Sadie. Heck, even both. Have their DLC game be how they took control of the gang while everyone else was stuck in Guarma.

i now am playing this and i feel like rdr 2 is way better than this game. i dont feel the connection to the character like in was in rdr2. but we will see

My issue with it is the "Wild Horses,Tamed Passions" mission that seems impossible to do. Have tried for two hours to ride and rope a wild horse. AI's are supposed to help but don't. Follow the instructions I see on other videos but I still miss the horse when roping. There needs to be a way to practice that rather than starting over again oever and over and going through the cutscene dialogue. Thinking about not playing it anymore!! Need the mission because it's part of the story line.
Try to lead the horse ever so slightly with your rope. I think your lasso is just landing on its back.
Keep in mind I haven't played rdr1 since it came out so my memory may be off, but I do not remember being stuck on that mission.
I do remember roping many horses though, and leading them a tiny bit makes it work.
@@squidsleap thanks...I let my son give it a try. took him 10 minutes for the two horses. He got them right away. took him a little longer for the herding and roping. It appears that the characters have to be with you when you rope. He stayed behing them. I rode way ahead. Got the stallion now, guess I have to buy a saddle?
