Silent 2 Remake game deserves to be crowned as GAME OF THE YEAR in 2024. Reasons & causes: 1. Improved atmosphere & visuals, with the latest graphic technology, this game tells a more profound & impressive psychological horror atmosphere updating the creepy experience of the classic version Silent Hill 2. 2. Improved emotional narrative story about guilt & redemption of James Sunderland becomes stronger with improved cutscene dialogue presenting an impressive narrative experience. 3. Superior audio design, sound effects & suspenseful music are produced in high quality, increasing the fear & tension throughout the game. 4. Enhanced game with updated game mechanics to provide more responsive controls without sacrificing strategic elements that keep players feeling tense. 5. Improved characterization & detail. With the improvement of character technology in Silent Hill 2 Remake, it has much more detailed & deep expressions, which further strengthens the emotional connection with the players.
The fog is the worst part to me. Doesnt obscure enough of your vision, you can see monsters from much farther away. I think part of the charm of the original was not knowing where they were and then out of the fog they come running at you
Let me be honest I absolutely hate the black outline on the charecter model. It feels terrible. You're supposed to blend in with the fog and everything not feel like a sticker slapped on top of the world around you.
Thank you bloober team for giving this your best shot. Regardless of what happens when it releases, I still want to applaud you for taking on this massive challenge. All of the criticism you received when the second trailer came out wasn’t fair and I think you deserve a chance to prove that you can make awesome games.
My literal only complaint is the red filter for when you’re hurt. It’d be way cooler if your controller rumbled like the original and the LED on the controller was red.
Same. But I think they need to delete it. Because in the original game u can playthough the game with low hp to see the different ending. It will be hard to play with this red filter and when James slow down because of low hp. I think they need to make a inventory menu just like the original sh2
I honestly believe bloober is really trying their hardest on their game, but adapting one of the most critically acclaimed horror games into an era of high-fidelity graphic trends and modernized gameplay is an uphill battle. The voice acting is better than the silent hill collection, but it feels like they didn't wanna try and retread that stilted vibe that made the OG's acting so iconic and atmospheric. Im sure it wont be the SH of everyone's dreams. But i can bet that people would look back at this as a genuine effort to remake silent hill 2. At least more fondly than Homecoming and Downpour.
I think the reason that they didn't go to the stilted voice acting is because it's probably a very thin line between being a weird voice acting that fits into that dreamy atmosphere and just being downright bad. I'm glad they went with the safe option on this one.
@@shellumit’s on sale and on Xbox, should I try to beat Homecoming? I’ve beaten Silent Hill 2-4. I’ve avoided it so that I don’t start to hate Silent Hill as a series.

We're in a day and age when this kind of thing was applauded because we hate seeing corporations getting away with this, and yet this one time, that commenter laughed at it (I can't remember where I found it or how many likes it got). @@trackerdark-heart3043Yeah, Silent Hill was never really big like RE, they're kinda niche and hit or miss for most people. At this point people would never satisfied, because they expect RE treatment for SH which is ridiculous.
I'm still waiting for Silent Hill 1 to get the same treatment. That game is in need of an update (to this day, I haven't gotten all of the endings because I rage quit due to the game forcing me to increase the difficulty each time I start a New Game Plus! Who thought that was a good idea!?).
Dear bloobers, i hope you will make animations smoother, because now it's looks kinda James has a tremor or something. And i notice, that Laura looks like Aria Stark from Game of thrones. Great job and great face animations. Atmosphere feels through the phone
The only thing that doesn't convince me is the movement of the flashlight, it seems that James moves it with his eyes. In the original game it moved with the protagonist's body and I think that should be kept, if they wanted the flashlight to move with the eye at least add the detail of holding it with his hand from his shirt and moving it in a range from left to right . All this would help make the combat more uncomfortable since in the fights the light would shake giving the rawest and most unstable feeling. At the same time, there could have been possible glitches in the way the flashlight flashed or went out for a few seconds, causing James to tap it to turn it on. As an additional point, I would like the grain effect to be added to the graphic options in case someone wants to activate it as it happened in the old game.
Totally agree, and I think the flashlight could more wide, so could make more moving shadows on environment, and so it doesn't need to follow players sight. Silent hill doesn't need to be like resident evil to limit players sight.
That's kinda petty,a lot of older games from the Sega days were far worse I'm sure nobody cared to much as long as you leave with a experience and something to remember
It feels very out of place for silent hill as well. Feels like It’d make much more sense in a action game like uncharted but definitely not a psychological horror game like SH
yeah there most likely will be since alot of games have that option, i can see booting up the game and it urges you to go to options to tailor how you want your experience to play out, kinda addinng to everyones own silent hill which would be such a cool nod!
My only gripe is why are the monsters alerting themselves before the radio goes off and sometimes they're louder than the radio, the radio is meant to say "HEY something is around" but its for you to find where they are.
In case any bloober dev is reading this, thank you. I have not been into any of your games, but you got me here. I see the growth and attention to detail over the years. This feels like an absolute badass remake. Thank you for proving us all wrong. You deserve a mimosa today ;)
The only things that can suggest before release is some things movement. The walking could be smoother and when he runs it can progress from a walk to a fast walk to a sprint instead of just a full spring from walking, just to add realism. And when he stops running he can slow down and then stop instead of just freezing. And just for fun, when the enemies are down and he still hits them, I’d like to see him hit the enemies in a more serious and aggressive way. That’s all, thank you,
for anyone crying in the comments “it’s not like the first one” blah blah blah. people can’t stand that it’s not like ps2 graphics, i think as far as the atmosphere it’s pretty good. i pre ordered this game and i guarantee it’s going to be awesome, no complaints from me
A treat from hell. Great work from Bloober Team! As a fan of a series that changed my perspective on horror forever, this feels like Christmas! A new generation will get to know what the fuss was all about. Peerless!
way better than the last trailer BUT there’s still some jankiness/unpolished animations that i’m shocked are even in an official trailer. the weird animation run glitch when he’s opening that gate. the superhuman quick dodge. contortionist arm movements attacks and cutscenes. even the walk feels so robotic.
Hey Bloober Team, what about adding more gore/larger blood puddles from James' attacks? Not anything too exaggerated, of course. Besides the other suggestions here, this is the one that comes off from top of my head... Have a nice development 👍
Guys I’m a big fan of the original SH2, and I think it’s looks good. Of course it’s not perfect, it’s need a bit more work (animations transitions, walking and running animations), but they have a couple months before release date. Let’s give them a chance
Bloober Team, this is looking great! I played Silent Hill 2 when it came out over 20 years ago and I am excited to play this version. Keep up the great work and take these encouraging words from a long time Silent Hill fan!
SH was formed from Konami heads seeing RE telling their devs "make one of those" and they just happened to make one of the greatest horror series of all time. From the beginning SH was inspired by RE.
For me...till this day.i still consider silent hill 2 isbthe greatest survival horror game ever made.and i like this remake.and hopefully will be another masterful silent hill like this in future.
The game looks spectacular and I love that they managed to capture the atmosphere of the original, it is greatly appreciated. Some may be upset by the change of location of key elements such as the radio, which does not happen like in the classic game, but I think they are risks or artistic changes that are taken. The only thing I see out of place are the floating boxes for the objects you take or use, they look strange. I loved that James marks key points on the map and, like even the desolate houses, they give that feeling of nostalgia. Thank you for respecting the fog to bring Silent Hill to life, you are making an incredible and unforgettable remake. If something defines this Silent, it is the fog and desolation of that town. I hope it has all the endings, especially the one in the letter.
It's so awesome how all of the HUD elements are diegetic, or in the actual gameplay. There's no pause to take you out of the game like the Dead Space games. I love that it keeps you in the game.
Take all the criticism on board and make the necessary corrections now, while there is still time. For example, there may be better improvements in the graphical sense, the battle mechanics seem very cumbersome and this issue can be corrected...
Man, this game could be damn near *PERFECT* if you guys just make the four following changes: 1 - Fix Angela's face 2 - Give Maria her original outfit and turn her back into the S Xsymb0l that she was in the original 3 - Restore the hyperSxu4lized physical features on the monsters (Nurses/Lying figures) 4 - Restore the subtlety in this scene 13:15 by having the monsters eerily slide down the corners of the ceiling instead I swear, if they just did these four things alone, this remake could be *PERFECT.* 👌
2000s vibe all over again. I genuinely think they did a good job creating the game and the atmosphere and I know it's going to feel even better playing it!
looks better than what was previously shown but the animations and gameplay still look rough and the palpable atmosphere of the original doesn't seem to be here at all but let's see. there's still some time left but for now, i'm not sold.
3:53 I like that he used his stick weapon to break things. It reminds me of Silent Hill: Homecoming where Alex Shepherd used his weapons to progress to the next area, like a knife that's a key or an axe to break down a blocked door. Homecoming was underrated.
I'm really hoping this is good as i adore third-person horror games! 💜 Just one tweak I'd recommend tame down that damage and vomit effect as it's quite distracting, the injured walk is honestly enough of a damage cue for most people!

Honestly this looks way better than the last gameplay trailer. Doesn’t feel as robotic and goofy. And it works extremely well for something that fits modern gaming standards. Dodging may be iffy to some but at least he isn’t parrying these monsters. Makes more sense to dodge.
in the original there was already a dodge
I was afraid they will make the dodge look too dramatic but it looks like it's just a sidestep kinda thing so it's acceptable.

Yeah that was a nice detail
I’m just so glad that the map isn’t modernized, like a GPS or he’s using a cellphone or something like that to navigate the town.
So much I love about this gameplay reveal, but one of my favourite things is the way James looks when making certain comments and more subtle reactions in the cutscenes, it looks so natural (the "Goddamnit..." and "What?" comments near the end, for example). Silent 2 Remake game deserves to be crowned as GAME OF THE YEAR in 2024. Reasons & causes:

They need to work on post-process. The City still looks too bright and some animations still unfinished

Dear bloobers, i hope you will make animations smoother, because now it's looks kinda James has a tremor or something. And i notice, that Laura looks like Aria Stark from Game of thrones. Great job and great face animations. Atmosphere feels through the phone
I’m playing the original for the first time this week and was already scared. Looking at this, the atmosphere is almost identical if not better
I agree with these comments, I hope they listen to you
Totally agree, and I think the flashlight could more wide, so could make more moving shadows on environment, and so it doesn't need to follow players sight. Silent hill doesn't need to be like resident evil to limit players sight.
That's kinda petty,a lot of older games from the Sega days were far worse I'm sure nobody cared to much as long as you leave with a experience and something to remember

3:14 I don't like it when game devs add effects on screen or shaking, hope there is a option to disable it.
It feels very out of place for silent hill as well. Feels like It’d make much more sense in a action game like uncharted but definitely not a psychological horror game like SH
That red ring around the screen and stuff? Yeah I seriously hate that.
Same! Please make an option to disable it. It just doesn’t look good.
Ugh
yeah there most likely will be since alot of games have that option, i can see booting up the game and it urges you to go to options to tailor how you want your experience to play out, kinda addinng to everyones own silent hill which would be such a cool nod!
My only gripe is why are the monsters alerting themselves before the radio goes off and sometimes they're louder than the radio, the radio is meant to say "HEY something is around" but its for you to find where they are.

That’s all, thank you,
In my restless dreams, I see that town… In beautiful 4K ❤️
