I want to cry so badly I feel so bad for him in words I can’t explain… he really deserves better, those cops NEED to get the exact same sentencing as he did.
The Attorney know what time it is, he know how his people is, what they do that is wrong to the core! All it takes is doing the right thing no matter what!
Even the judge! Once the case gets going, the jury determines guilt, but the judge says whether or not a case has enough merit to even be tried. That judge looked at the facts and chose to try the case. The judge listened to the detective admit he lied and didn't order a mistrial. The Police, the judge, AND the prosecution failed this man. If that isn't systemic racism, I don't know what is.
The only problem with your assessment is that this happens to white, black, asian, or hispanic. This isn't about race. The gang with the blue line flag needs to be destroyed.
Systematic racism is THE MOST REAL THING ABOUT EVERYTHING. Right next to the institutional racism part. I'm so embarrassed sometimes by these feelings: looking how I do, knowing I've been given something extra I don't deserve, knowing what awful awful things happened to my fellow Americans who weren't blessed at birth with the same color skin [sarcasm] or history. Embarrassed. Angry. Sad. I guess the only choice is love, like he so eloquently said⁵
You do realize the same exact thing has happened to white people right? We have to stop with this exaggerating race issue. I believe racial bias is real and it’s in virtually every area of our society, and it’s a big reason that Black people are disproportionately harmed. It’s not the only reason by far, but it is a big reason, in my opinion. But when so many people in the black community believe this stuff virtually only happens to them then they alienate other people who know they’re not telling the truth plus the black community and others who support groups for police accountability don’t fully know how to tackle the issue among police because they keep on believing it’s all about race.
My prayers for healing and justice for Mr Sheldon Thomas and his mother. Also, his legal team. Thanks for the interview. May he gradually find the ability to adjust to his surroundings. Coverage of these stories brings light to the many wrongfully convicted and imprisoned.

What a remarkable wonderful soul. I wish him all the best from the bottom of my heart.
I pray he’s going to therapy soon because he really seems like a really great person.
This is absolutely crazy ! I used to go to Elementary school with him .. I cannot believe this , thank God he is home && he should be compensated !
