Great assembly tips! Apply heat to adhesives either with a heat gun or a hair dryer to soften. On your control panel, there is a thin, clear film to remove. It’s put there for shipping. It doesn’t hurt anything if you keep it, but it does show these weird little bubbles that will go away if you remove it. I found a couple of people on UA-cam comment that these gravity fed burners tend to burn quite a bit of charcoal even after you shut down. You may want to get into the habit of only putting in enough charcoal for your cooking session.
Thanks mate, very helpful & finally got one here in Australia and will be building it this weekend, and knowing the mistakes you made will definitely help.
Your review is PERFECT. I would have done one like it, but you have a nicer smile. ;) Your "glue" comment is spot on. WTHeck is that stuff? I got lucky using a blowtorch in a very light way. Basically, I just heated it up and it rolled off. BUT, you shouldn't have to do that! Again, great review!
It’s about 3 years since you posted this video, great by the way. I’m considering a 1050, but am interested in your experience after 3 years. I live close by to you, Champlin, not far from Von Hanson meats.
Noticed you didn't put the little screw in for the heat shield on the bottom right side of the door flange .. I thought of doing that for a better seal. How does it work ?
I know what you mean about the sticker glue on the inside. It’s a bitch to get off. I got most of it off after a lot of work. Hopefully the remaining residue will burn off. Great video 👍🏼
I noticed smoke coming out of the left front of cover on charcoal bend. This will encourage fire into top charcoal. Tom Horseman put high temp silicone thermometer stop leaks.. also better put a lock on that gate since the neighbors know you are cooking.
The Gravity series is total shit. I've had my grill for 6 months and so far have had to dismantle and clean it, replace 2 switches & a cord and the computer will not update or connect to my phone. The fan will randomly quit working. I've had emails to and from the company and demanded phone calls. I've gotten exactly 3 cooks out of it and have been embarrassed with guests waiting on food. IT IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!! Don't buy it.
Im about 60 cooks deep and had to replace one of the little buttons that make the fan go and thats it. You didnt buy a 4 year extended warranty? Whoops, i did
Very nice tutorial, mine arrives tomorrow
Great video brother, picking up my 1050 today!

where can i get metal sheet or plate
Could you use aluminum foil for the plate saver?
I’ve noticed they use a lot of charcoal as well
This is the best, easy to follow. Thank you!

For the sticker residue, I used a plastic scraper I use on my cast iron pans. Took awhile but go it off somewhat easily.
What are the dimensions of the piece of sheet metal you used on top?

Awesome buddy
Thanks for the video! What is the dimensions of the sheet metal?
Thanks for this video. I bought the 1050 today and that glue is ridiculous. What are the dimensions of the sheet metal. That’s a great idea!

Great tips. Where did you the cut sheet metal for the top?
Thank u for showing how much smoke is coming out of it. Im pretty sure my neighbors think theres a fire in my backyard. Had to turn it off for a bit
I was very pissed off about that glue on the inside.
It makes no sense!
thanks
Great job! Really enjoy the video and, yes, that glue was a b*tch!
Just got one and finished it all up then got to that poster on the inside and that glue to me 40mins to get completely off.
I know what you mean about the sticker glue on the inside.

I guess I will try the goog Gone see what happens
Does it have to heat to a certain temp to get the fan to run?
Tumble weeds are great starters. I smash mine with a hammer to flatten slips right in
Not one reply to questions, come on Jack Fire up
Just got mine. Going to try the hair dryer on that damn glue

What’s up with the 1990’s buffering?
How long for that cool down period?
The stickers are annoying. I totally agree
Goop be gone should work for removing that glue... I’ll find out today because it’s all over my grill too
Use acetone takes off immediately
The glue really pissed me off.
I feel like I'm the only one who had charcoal ash blown all over their grates trying to season and cook.
Masterbuilt had their own starters for cheap that pop right in. You should have edited out that annoying sound 😅

I got a refund.
If a product is worth its salt then a 4 year warranty isn't necessary. Make a reliable product. Mine was unreliable.
