- Let’s take the New for 2021 Masterbuilt 1050 Gravity Series Charcoal Grill fora Burn In, Biscuit Test and First Cook! Absolutely Awesome!
Here’s the review of the 1050!
www.Masterbuilt.com
The 1050 is nice and “forgiving” temp wise, having so much grate real estate. Always hotter on the close right side. Have had all 3 of the mb gravity models. Amazing flavor, awesome cookers!
Thanks for watching! I agree!
That's awesome you turned the test into a meal. Great job Tom. 👍👍
Thanks for watching! Can’t let good biscuits go to waste!
Hey great job Tom.. thanks for your time..
Thanks for Watching Tom!
I would like to see a biscuit test where you spread them evenly on all three levels to actually see results across the entire cooker. I realize it would take a few more biscuits, but it would give a true test. Thanks for doing the test you did, I still enjoyed watching it
Thanks for Watching Mark!
The top grates are gonna be 25-50 degrees hotter
Thanks for Watching Jason! Good to know
Thanks Tom. Can't wait to see the comparison video.
Thanks for watching Bill! It should be interesting!
Tom, have you experienced having your food on the fold out table hitting your hood handle. I did sometimes. Simple test or fix, depending on your view. Loosen the 4 screws holding folding table and lower table to the bottom set of the 4 screws and this makes for a good height. Tighten screws and test for a few cooks. I was going to add 2 screws to the open slots in table but never got around to it. It was fine with only 2 screws for me. Just sharing
Thanks for Watching! I appreciate the feedback! I ll check that out!
So I know you chose the CG 980 over the MB560. What about the CG vs the MB1050? Since they are closer in capacity. Which of the two would you ultimately choose? Great video BTW Tom!
Thanks for Watching! There will be a comparison video!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ how's the build quality on the MB 1050. I see alot of complaints on Amazon saying the fan stopped working after a few months. The hopper lid start melting, the app hardly works and MB has no phone support and terrible customer service. Unfortunately I'm in Canada so the char griller gravity 980 not available. Any other brands u recommend that's comparable to MB 1050?
Thanks for Watching Jays! If available try the Char Griller Gravity 980 Charcoal Grill. Better build quality than the MB
So if the lower level only gets used for "searing only by most" then the cooking area is only.....let's say 575 sq.in. and the smaller one would go to like 275sq.in.......the CG980 has cast iron main grill grates too and can be used so all the types of cooking so capacity wise and I'd bet being able to cook more food evenly the CG would win that hands down.
Thanks for Watching! There will be allot of debate over this......
Good job Tom. Cheers.
Thanks Tommy! New grills always get me excited!
Hi Tom what thermometer did you use to replace the Masterbuilt thermometer. I cant seem to get comparable readings with several attempts with different thermometers. Thanks for all your videos
Thanks for Watching Edward! I’ll be showing that in an upcoming video
Tom enjoy your vids. Question? So after owning a Master Built as long as you have are mods really necessary? Just wanted your opinion after the time you have had it. Thanks
Thanks for Watching Chad! Cooks the same with and without the mods
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I guess wondering if it will last a long time without the mods. Or do the mods really make it last a lot longer. Mainly the firebox
Don’t have the firebox mod Chad, others tell me it does
What hood thermometer did you charmed to? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Your content is excellent!

Did you notice the hopper door sill leaking before putting the felt on our did you just do that pre-emptively?
Thanks for watching Alex! Did it based on past experiences with the 560
For the sanity of professional cooks everywhere, please grab items off the grill the way you grabbed your second piece of pork.
Thanks for Watching!
Should have put biscuits on the bottom as well.
Thanks for watching!
mmmmm biscuits.....
Thanks for Watching!
Saw the MB 1050 at my local Wallyworld clearing space for Christmas. They have it for $299. You would recommend?
Thanks for Watching Billy! Yes that’s a great deal for $300.00
Do you have foil in the Char-Griller 980 hopper lid too or no?
Thanks for watching Corey! Nothing on the lid
Hey Tom, What fancy gasket is that on your 560? do you have a link?
Thanks for Watching Mark! Here’s the link…www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CJE1G7Q/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I see B&B came out with charcoal pellets are you gonna try them?
Thanks for Watching! I haven’t seen them yet, Thanks for the feedback
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ actually I was wrong it’s Royal oak that came out with charcoal pellets.
tom, where did you get your thermometer?
Thanks for watching! Amazon, Here’s a link to another video. In the description is a link to one that works pretty well.
Sorry, here’s the link. ua-cam.com/video/LMusK0FsKpE/v-deo.html
You got any biscuits in there... mmmhmmm..
Thanks for Watching Todd! Yes
Hey Tom, will you be selling your 560 since you now have the 1080? Or are they both permanent members in the Land of Grills? lol.
Thanks for Watching Corey! Most likely the 560 will be leaving the land of grills
Gravity everywhere
Thanks for Watching Patrick!
That's a piss poor excuse for a biscuit test.
Thanks for Watching Jack!
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ guess you can only go up from there ;)
Thanks for Watching! I agree
Look forward to your biscuit test jack
