What I think is the saddest part is that yes they get to be a princess for one day, but then the next day it's back to being Cinderella, a glorified servant. These girls are happy for a time, but the are excited for the wedding, not the marriage. Can you imagine the most exciting day of your life being over by the time you are 21?
Most of the time it's over by the time they're 14
So sad@@ashtonashton9955
I could write a dissertation but I'll try to keep it simple. For starters I will acknowledge the level of control and DV in this traditional set up is across all cultures that observe it. There is absolutely a power balance issue when someone isn't _allowed_ to work.
But now let me say you're being a bit myopic. Every birthday, every holiday, every wedding and every new baby bring us another best day of some sort.
Everything is hard when you don't want it. But life is incredible if you consciously find reasons to be happy. 😊
@MavonEast the problem is, none of the young girls (yes quite a lot if them are not even women yet legally), are not allowed to decide what they want. They are set along a certain path at a very young age and do not have the personal resources to deviate from that path, especially since a lot of them, including this sweetie Elizabeth here are quite illiterate.
And I am not being short sighted, I said the most exciting day, not the happiest. That is THEIR view, not mine.
@@franmiller1381 As one of "them" I can assure you that is not the full truth. We say a lot of things when we're passionate. 😂😂😂
The worst part is they dont eat the cake. They throw it. Sinful, cake is sacred.
I'm proud of Bridget's mum. She went through a lot and was brave to break it off, even though she knew she'd be the first around to do so.
In the last video, I commented that it seems like the females should be allowed to attend school because what if the women in these wedding videos get a divorce or their husbands die? How can the womem fend for themselves and provide for their children? It seems that in Bridgette Senior's case that the Gypsy community rallied around her and protected her, as well as her children, from her violent husband. Again, I still say I can appreciate the differences in cultures. But, every child deserves an education, regardless of their gender. I hope that more of the young women in the Gypsy communities will opt to stay in school and, at the very least, learn to read and write. Maybe they could do virtual learning, if their parents are afraid the females will be corrupted if they attend public school.
Nice video, OMG Weddings. 🙂
This series is at least 15 years old. They are "catching up" with mainstream, for better or worse. I personally don't understand why they are so viciously hated in the UK.
@@summerlake356 not sure either but I’ve heard rumors that a lot of scams happen when you hire them for construction and anything not bolted down disappears… not sure if it’s true
As a woman who has a lot of Irish ☘️ blood I find it all shameful
I understand keeping their traditions alive but honestly these girls should be able to get solid education and be able to have jobs. Keeping them married off and home bound is oppressive. What if they want something different than young marriage and children. Seems kind of sad.
'Youre known for your wedding dress, youre known for youre cake' not , youre known for you. How very sad.
It's a disgrace that they don't value educating their children
Each to their own don't judge
@@donnahill214 it's neglectful not to provide an education for your children
@@Laura-ss5ws it's also illegal. I don't know how they get away with it. It's fair enough to choose to follow a way of life, but if you're educated you can make that choice. If you're not, you're stuck even if it's an abusive relationship.
@@yippee8570 I just don't understand why they spend so much money on these over-the-top weddings, yet their children can barely read or write....the money they spend on just one day could go towards a university degree

Bridget has some of the most beautiful eyes that I’ve ever seen.
I agree.
She has her Mum's eyes and they both seem like lovely, Gorgeous people❤👌
I agree too. Stunning!
What a terrible life.
I agree
Yep. And I'm a housewife and mom.
@melindaroop1346 I'm a house wife and mom as well, this is on a whole other level of BS! My kids are grown and flew the nest yrs ago.
'Marital Home' .... omg
I think we all have to agree with Noreen. For that ONE special day of our lives; (which hopefully will only happen once),😉 we want to be the "Princess" of our Wedding, we want to be the MOST beautiful Woman in the Church/ Reception/ or Party on THAT day, because it only happens once.👰♀️😊 We also want our friends and family to remember how very memorable ( in a good way) that our Reception was (for us) and those we chose to share it with. Each culture has their own styles & traditions, no one is " better" or more fashionable, to each his or her own is whats best.😊
i respect the traditions of thw travelled community but...I just wish the females would attend school until 18 at least
I notice an extreme lack of dags in this video.
I see what you did there.....
? R dags?
@@donnafredericks2865 yes, dags . 😂.
Where do they get the money to throw these big weddings
I would like to know that as well.
I think a lot of the guys are laborers mainly cash jobs.
I think that as soon as the girl is born they start saving
There’s a reason traveler men do not want to be identified in these clips …
They don't pay tax.
Why do these ppl who takj abour their struggles; bring children in the world , knowing their fate? I just don't get it. 😢
Selfish and their backwards religion tells them to. I'd rather "go to hell" than put my children into a bad life.
I thought child marriages were band in a lot of countries.
in some once you are 16 with parents permission you can be wed
Not in Ireland
Are these the feckers they have just moved off the Colliseum in Ellesmere Port by the bailiffs? I have zero respect for them ….so funny they all have an Irish accent yet they have never been there …..ever!
Very cool 😎🎉❤
Where do their children sleep?
In the basement.
@@jmann171 oh yes of course. Very useful, the basement.
There are no basements in caravans
It's a camper , all tables and couches convert to beds
@@KM-mv3qr Whoosh
They dance all the same.
A lil trashy i think . Education is much better for all of the girls what happens if ur husband goes to jail or prison then what n how r u going to get the things for yourself or u 5 babies still in diapers n bottle feed ?
Yup...like they're continuously having seizures😂😂
Yep. Badly! 😂.
