I skated a ton at 225-230, but the pandemic and losing my mom caused me to gain 100lbs over the past couple years. The Twister XT's are pretty good once broken in for big guys. The stock wheels and frames seem to hold the weight well. On a positive note, I'm on a weight loss journey again so I should be back in the mid 200's by spring if everything keeps going well. I can't wait to blade at sub 300 weight again.
@@VincentS327 If your foot is really wide, the XT's are going to be very snugg. The arch area and the ankle can cause some discomfort. I had to play around with a few insoles before I found one that would put my foot in a good position. I do wish the top strap was longer. I've got larger calves from being overweight and sometimes it's a pain to get the top strap in. The skate otherwise is solid. The frame has held up phenomenally. I did put some 88a Matt Lyon Hood Panda wheels on them, and I love them more like that.
I'm 230 6'2" semi athletic. I'm not an aggressive skater but I have an interesting experience. Same as many here, 20 years ago I skated all the time and now just getting back into it. I found the cheap Rollerblade Zetra Blade soft boot skate and started on those for about 5 months. I had a very hard time balancing, skating on one foot, turning, pretty much doing anything. I was really surprised because I usually take to new physical activities and learn new skills easily. My mindset was that if I kept practicing, I would get better, those issues would go away, and I would earn my way to an upgrade. After 5 months I wasn't improving. Out of extreme frustration I almost quit but then watched this video and decided to throw a hail Mary and get an expensive hard boot skate. I went with the Rollerblade Twister XT, size 13 since it has good accessories all around - ready to go - advertised as extra supportive. I couldn't believe the difference. The twisters are incredibly supportive, have a laterally adjustable aluminum frame and come with decent 85a wheels. The Twisters totally fixed 90% of the issues I was having with stability. I started improving immensely, turning, one foot skating, stoping, tricks, you name it, all became easy overnight. The twisters are really stiff but still allow some movement. They can be loosened if the stiffness is too much which I do all the time. They don't bend when I push off or flex when maneuvering. Every day I practice, I get a little better vs before with the soft boot, there was no improvement day after day . They say that better skates don't make you better but I can absolutely tell you that crappy skates will stifle your improvement and push you out of the sport. Having a more supportive skate has really got me excited about skating again. Watching all the
Thank you for the great information. I live in Wilmington NC, 48 years old. The last time I skated was 1996. Trying to get back into it and didn’t know where to start.
I'm 6' and around 230lbs. I went with Roller Derby Elite Beta. They checked all the boxes I wanted. 1) Hard boot 2) 80mm wheels, so good lower center of gravity (slightly larger wheels might have been better) 3) Can upgrade the frame to 3 larger wheels later 4) They fit properly, with no tight/hot spots 5) They were affordable under $100 on Amazon. It's a good quality well known name brand set that won't break the bank when you just want to try it out or try to get back into it. I did go to a local shop to try them on. Size 10 was good width, but too short and 12 was too big. They did not have my standard 11. They then convinced me to try on other pairs and I found that the boots, while similar caused a lot of pain in my outter foot. Coincidentally they started pushing me towards higher and higher priced skates. I told them I'd think about it. Went home, looked online and found them for under $100 on Amazon. Ordered that day. It is super important to try skates on before you order. Too narrow or hot spots will make you hate skating. DO get protective equipment. Knee, lebow, wrist and most importantly helmet. I didn't wait for mine to arrive. I went out the day my skates arrived and did well, until I didn't. After about 4 mikes I got lazy for a second and went down as a result. Lost a deep patch of skin on my knee about 1.5" x 3" and it took 3 months to fully heal (knee pads prople). I also gouged up the toe of one of my brand new skates. This is why I wanted to keep the price down, as there is a high probability of falling and scratching them up if you've been out of it for a while. If I had dropped $400 on a par of skates and scratched the crap out of them the first time out I eould have been so mad. $100 lets me make mistakes and not worry so much about it. If I stick with it, I can upgrade in a couple of years when I'm more stable.
Thanks for the info, this is my problem atm I skated for most of my childhood and wanted to get back into for health reasons but as of now I am between 315 - 330, but also I have a large foot and need at least a 15 - 16 size skate. A little bit of a side rant, so tired of these companies, negelating the people who actually need it the most, another example is office chairs.... Thanks again for the info
I'm 280lbs 6foot tall and just not in the best shape at all. I used to skate alot years ago loved it. So Just ordered some FR skates with intuition liner. Getting back into skating to help me lose weight and get active. Also stoked to get the ground control aluminum 80mm for flat setup.
How much do you weigh now? If you don’t mind me asking I wanna start skating to lose weight and basically start getting healthy I’m currently way over 280+ I’m 22 years old at the moment
@@JayceFrmCT I am now at ~325 lbs. I haven't skated since this summer though. During an active skating period I'll usually drop ~15 lbs monthly and that is with a pretty crappy diet. I'll skate for about 1-2 hours at a time, this is not non-stop skating either, I'll usually just cruise arounds parks with lots of breaks. Of course, everyone's different so that's just my experience.
I am thinking of starting to skate and don’t know if I am going to like it, can you recommend a good pair of skates. Once I find that it’s something I’m interested in I will drop $200+ right now I’m just looking for a pair $120 - $170 range
As someone who is 230+ I found this helpful thank you very much for this post. Currently I'm riding F6S with intuition V2 and FP insoles I had to trim.
Do you out your FP game changers(the moldable orthotic) under your V2 or inside your V2? I’m looking at replacing my FR Original liner with the intuition but I’m trying to figure out room and slippage, if I put an insole sized to my foot inside my FR3 shell that sucker has space to move around. I’m in a 10.5/45 with a 271 mondo the 45 has room for 280.5 I think. I’m just trying to really get a consensus on what folks are doing, I definitely don’t wanna start tearing up my stuff but I don’t wanna waste the money if I’m not getting the full capabilities of this V2.
@@SylvanEd did your skates has essentially 2 insoles prior to you changing, idk if other company’s do the same thing SEBA/FR. Glued to the shell itself is a very very crappy insole which I’m assuming is supposed to be a “shock absorber” and than there is another insole inside the liner. I’m really curious if anyone has torn out that most bottom insole/shock absorber as well as their Original insole. I guess I’m asking because it’s make a little more room I guess. Is the V2 much thicker than say the FRs liner? Or standard “comfy” liners
I’m 280 lbs and had a lot of trouble finding the right skate. After a few years of trying different things I finally gave in and bought intuition liners with Razor SL’s and I haven’t found anything better.
I daily drive barefoot shoes. I bought two pairs of Xsjados when they went out of business. I'm currently wearing Groundies Brooklyn high top barefoot shoes with my Xsjados; nice wide toebox. There's not much choice for us barefoot wide feet skaters. Roces 5th Element is wide foot friendly and I think the new Them skates sizes will be wide friendly too.
Heavy doesn't not equal FAT! I'm 6'4" 250lbs and fairly muscular. My brother is 6'7" 300lbs and muscular. So not everyone over 220/230lbs is fat! I went from PS phuzion krypton to FR1 and I can say FR1 is shoe size fits are as close to perfect skates as it gets.
I am 34. I saw this video a week ago. I played hockey and skated a lot back in the day, but not aggressively. This should be fun being 245 I ordered the fifth element 10 1/2 for comfortability green.
I’m 6 ft 215-220 So far I’m only a week of mild to low amounts of skating, I’m a 271 Monday on a 45 FR3 80 I have one flat foot with over pronation, slammed some Gamechangers in there and my feet arches don’t hurt for sure. Unfortunately I also have just an ever small bit of pressure at the fore foot (given years of jiujitsu beating up one of my feet haha) maybe I still need some for break in time miles? Skating in central Texas we have shyty roads/parking lots. But so far I do love my FR3s compared to even my CCM ice skates and shtty fitness skates. These aren’t bad for sure.
I am 5'9" roughly 380lbs looking to return to rollerblading after 10 years. I am a very experienced blade, but haven't been on blades for a decade. I have HUGE ankles and calves. What would you recommend? Not looking at blades for grinding or tricks at the skatepark. Inam looking for street blades. Something to roll with my kids in.
I’m doing this to lose weight doc said I could die so I ordered some “Roces M12” they get here next week this summers gonna be amazing 💪🏽😭 I hope I lose a few pounds
I wish you the absolute best of luck on your journey to better health... take it easy at first and be sure to hydrate... don't forget that weight loss starts in the kitchen
@@OlderBladers thank you so much I’m a 22 year old and being this heavy is very very unhealthy and your absolutely right eating is one of the biggest things that I have to fix some days I don’t eat and some days I eat to much so working on a stable diet would be my best choice to combine with skating 💪🏽💯 PS. I found you literally 2 hours ago and I’ve been binging the videos I subscribed keep up the amazing work
@@in3x_pty909 they feel amazing bro but remember to order 1 Size above your shoe size bec I ordered 9 and they felt like a size 8 has to return them and get a size 10 so they’d fit like a size 9 but the skates are very smooth they’re very comfortable and I highly recommend them
Great stuff, really helpful for us underpresented big boys/girls. I have the CJ2 that I've gutted, and it's a revalation in terms of the fit. I'm looking to get another, was looking at the Prime by wondering about the sizing. My CJ2 is a 44, and I find it just a touch too big since I gutted it. Wondering if I should get the 43, or go down a shell size to 42. Any thoughts?
I suggest measuring your foot in cm and following that. I can tell you that the 43 and 44 prime are the same shell size. The only difference is that there is a bit of extra foam in the toe of the 43. It's hard to imagine that you would be able to go down to a 42 from a 44, but if the cm measurement is in the size range I would go for it... All that aside, I recommend checking out Factions
as a big guy. trying to get back into skating i hate big wheel at the moment ,think the one i have are 80mm,the boot inside the skate feel like its sliding left to right
I am having an issue I wear wide width shoes but women rollerblades are too tight I bought a 7 to tight I went up to an 8 still way too tight... Should I find men's instead would they have more space width wise????
What skate are you currently trying? My wife has fairly wide feet as well and we tried quite a few skates for her before she got one that fit well. She ended up going with the FR3 80
hey I have factions and I notice you also have been using factions lately, I weigh 225 and no matter what I do my toes keep falling asleep. They stock liners are super comfy but after 20 minutes my toes just fall asleep, I've tried fatboy and 2nd skin liners and the fatboys cause my toes to fall asleep too and the 2nd skins are way too thin around the cuff so its all floppy.. do you think the CJ2 prime would be better for me than the Factions? I love my factions so much until my toes fall asleep, and its a huge bummer because I want to skate longer than 30 minutes and Ive been learning super fast lately. I have 110mm wide feet, high volume, high archs, so maybe I need intuition liners to free up some toe space while keeping the cuff stability? The 2nd skin liners felt the best on my toes, but the cuff was just way too floppy I really need some help figuring this out, its driving me crazy lol I'm sorry if I just threw alot of information at you!
Great info what about taller wheels at skate park not looking to grind just cruising the ramps and fitness used to aggressive skate mainly launch ramps but way younger skateboard on half pipes
I skated for about 10yrs straight, I stopped and now it's been about 20yrs (am 40yro) without skating. I was 305lbs early this year and down to 250 now, looking to get back into skating, was debating getting the FR UFR AP boots so I can get bigger wheels frames to cruise & small ones if I wanna try to grind again (starting easy with frontside, royale & soul), but am not sure yet. I have a skate park near my house so would like to try and do small ramps & gaps. What would you recommend? If not, I was looking at the Gawds Team, Razor Genesys, RB Blank SK for aggressive & FR3 80 or RB Lighting 80 for just fitness, but those would limit me in the park, if I wanted to get into grinding, etc.? TIA! PS - I also have bigger feet so my choices seems to be limited (297mm x 105mm)
@adrianob.965 The UFR is a great skate and would be good for both big wheels and aggressive. Much better than any of the other options in my opinion. But I do recommend getting the upgraded one with an intuition liner cause the stock fr liner is pretty bad.
@@OlderBladers Appreciate the reply, found the boot only version with the intuition liner for not much more than the stock liner so will go for that! Was looking at the 50/50 balance 2, OYSI classic & Kizer Fluid IV frames, think might want a flat set up now so that's my next piece of the puzzle, or is there something else you would recommend? I'm comfortable on skates but just need to get use to quarter pipes small gaps, etc., and if I do wanna grind I might just get a set of anti-rocker wheels to swap in the middle
Im 255 with big feet. I wear size 12 in shoes. Bought a set of USD thrones and a used set of Salomon ST Pros, both size 13 and the thrones just hurt my feet after 15 minutes of skating and i can wear the Pros all day. Unfortunate they don't make the STs anymore but if you can find em' i would get em.
I'm looking for skate recommendations for fitness/recreation for a big guy (300lbs) with big feet (LEFT 310mm x 123mm, RIGHT 308mm x 120mm). After watching this video, I had hoped to get a pair of FR1 80 Deluxe but they only go to a US13 (300mm). Any ideas for skates for big guys with big feet?
Definitely a biggun here, and your video was tremendously helpful. I have found myself stuck between FR ufr ap or the fr2 however. Like I get that they are two different schools of skate but ultimately I do want to get into aggressive, however I love the idea of light up wheels and you can't get those in aggressive size wheels I guess. Never skated, but always wanted to. So I guess my question is this. Is it ok for a total beginner to start off on aggressive skates? Edit: soon as I posted this, a vid popped up with the answer to the second one :D
I’m 330, I got myself a pair of 5th Element Stealth 84s. I don’t have a lot of experience and skate time. Should I consider a different pair of skates? Ever if these skates aren’t optimal for my weight, I’ve been getting a feel for inline skating. So far I like it and have more of a drive to improve, the type of skating I’m looking to do is trail skating.
I'm not familiar with that brand of skate so i can't speak to it. I will say that if you are just starting out the best thing you can do is just get out and skate... Once you start to progress you might decide to invest in a more specialized skate. But until then, just get out and have fun.
Medical question. Feel free to disregard but do you or have you ever had high blood pressure and do you experience pain in your finger tips when you spin?... I know this might sound weird but I have high blood pressure. (working on it through diet and skating) and Ive noticed I get these crazy shooting pains ( in my hands) when ever I do a 360. Wondering if its just me or if this is related to my high blood pressure. Best wishes. Love your channel.
I'm 240lb what are the best aggressive wheels for heavy riders? I'm coreing my wheels all the time. It might be because I'm still using muke frames. Just need a reliable setup
I'm 6'5", 360lbs, and wear a size 16 shoe.... Want to get back into it, since I stopped when I grew out of my size 14s when I was 13yo. My little guy is 6yo and wants to get into it. Is there anything out there for big dudes with big feet? Having trouble finding anything... Thanks!
It really depends on what type of skating you are looking to do. But the only skate I know of that comes in a size 16 is the Rollerblade XL www.inlinewarehouse.com/Rollerblade_XL/descpage-XL1A.html
What skates are you using? a lot of older skates like salomon have really short straps and don't work well for thick calves... you may just need a new buckle but if you are using older skates I would suggest something newer
what a brilliant video I'm about 280lb iv been back skating for maybe 10 sessions now and iv been using Salomon Vinny Minton 1 with mega frames and 64mm wheels. My first session I was in agony my feet ached and my ankles hurt after I think its because the boot has good flex and my choice of frames and wheels had me too high off the ground and my ankles and feet just weren't ready for the stabilizing they needed to do. I changed back to the original salomon frames with 56mm wheels and I felt alittle slower but my feet lasted a lot longer after a few sessions I went back to the megas and I'm doing fine now. interesting fact I tried skating anti again and bleurgh it feels nasty compared to flat and I noticed my wheels felt like they were over heating
Hi Im a returning skater of over 25years! Im now 44 and buying a pair of skates has been mental! I hope you can help me so here goes with stats: Im 6ft 4” I weigh 20st 7lb I’m a big build in muscle and my feet are a size 12-13 wide.! I bought a pair of ROCES THREAD INLINES they are a soft shell not much support in the foot and i have gone through 5 yes 5 sets of frames costing three times more as the skates cost! I cant skate on them anymore as i am ruining them! Now after watching your video which why didn’t I discover you in December 2021 fgs.! Can you recommend a decent inline either a try skate or normal inline skate with a good hard shell in my size?? Or could I buy a hard shell that would fit the frame on my old skates? I would appreciate muchly all my prayers would be answered.! Im from the Uk and Im limited to skate shops! Tia Bigjon
I would highly suggest taking a look at the FR1 or FR3. They are very supportive and come in a lot of different options. In the UK I would check out Locoskates.com they have a great selection and a TON of experience to get you the best fit.
I'm about 275 pounds, and about 6.2 feet tall, and thinking about the powerslide next core 110, that ok for bigger dudes? Just to add I'm starting to skate again after not skating for about 20 years, so not looking to do anything aggressive etc, mainly for fitness
I tried the Next, and I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately it didn't fit my foot properly. It's a well designed skate and I love the look of it. The cuff is nice and stiff but a little shorter than I like. I'd say if it fits your foot, go for it.
The M12 is the only skate I know of that comes in a 15... I would reach out to a shop (oak city, rollerwarehouse, inline warehouse, thuro) they could probably give you more options
So im a big guy too and i have issue with pain on the side-top knuckle's on my toes. The ones furthest back from the tip of the toe. For some reason its just super tight and hurts. As we both know our feet kind of spread out because we are bigger. Is there anything for wide feet but still have that tight fit? It shouldn't be that painful the first time right?
I bought some Papaison skates but i havent been improving much. Then i found out later that the skates i bought suck a$$, so thank you for making this video. I've been at a stalemate of 190 lbs for a long time, but before covid, i was losing 20 lbs. So hopefully this will help me have some fun outside
Hello, I'm 90 Kg/200LBs and I juste shred my wheels. I had Oxelo 80mm 86a, now I have brand new 90mm 85a FR wheels with my FR UFS intuition boots, and I juste destroy them the same. Did you find a brand that has very resistant big wheels? thx
@@OlderBladers thank you for the fast response! honestly just the cheapest possible that still decent? I can do 300 if that's really the minimum but as someone who hasn't skated inline before I kinda want a sub 200 option to just try it out
Most skates sold at inline specific retailers will more than adequate (ie. Inline Warehouse, Roller Warehouse, Oak City Skate Shop). Look around and see what is on clearance... there is a good amount of last years models still on shelves that can be found for under $200. Be cautious of cheap skates on amazon or big box stores, they are likely such bad quality that you would never enjoy skating.
Opinions on the Kaltik freestyle 2? Also had my eye on Kiezer soul frame(68.) Not sure if i want to wizard (nr90) or aggressive. Still waiting on cj carbons to come in the mail.
My feet are very wide and I've worn zero-drop footwear for the last twenty years--do you have any recommendations for wide boots without a (prominently) raised heel?
What would you recommend for a wide foot? I’m having a hell of a time finding a boot that fits my foot. Currently riding the razors sl and they are better than the sways but still have a pressure point on the bone right above my pinky toe.
That's a pretty tough question... The SL is a pretty wide skate and there are few options that are wider and most would require modification... But it sounds to me like you have a pressure point which could be caused by the liner. What liner are you using?
@Isaac Lucero That might be your problem... I have found the Reign v3 to be pretty narrow... I have tried 2 of them... the first V3 that came out fit me pretty well after some of the stitching around the ball of my foot tore. when I got the V3 HT I couldn't skate them cause they were way to tight in the same area and with better stitching lol... I would try changing out the liner
@Isaac Lucero I always recommend Intuition liners... but if you don't want to invest that much I would suggest checking out the MyFit Second Skins or Recall liners
Any chance I could have a pair of aggressive low skates wiegh 330 pounds and can't afford a pair please the sway or a pair you don't use that's aggressive ND low please
5'11" 360lbs. Just bought a pair of K2 fit 84 pro. Hopefully it works out. We'll see what happens. Kinda worried that it's soft boot though... Oh well.
Do you think the ufr 90 intuitions are ok for 350lb folks? I seen you recommended fr3 but i didnt see any “intuition” versions. Thank you! @@OlderBladers

@Jin_Jon I had a major skate crisis finding the right setup with the Seba's... I was constantly swapping frames and wheels but one of my favorites was the 5050 prime frames set up anit with 64mm famus wheels or the Sola frames with 60mm famus wheels flat. I also really enjoyed the Intuition Premium liner with them
I’m 300 pounds and size 12 foot 4E wide. I’ve heard the razors genesys LE are very good for wide feet, but concerned about what you said about supportiveness being most important. Do you have any experience with those particular skates?
Yes, the Genesys is great for wide feet. However it is not very supportive... I highly recommend upgrading to the Intuition Premium liner with this boot
@@OlderBladers thanks for the reply! Yeah I was scared they’re not very supportive thank you for confirming, I think I will try your #2 recommendation, the Gawds TF1’s. They make a 12.5 so hopefully it works out for me!
Hey man I just got some aggressive Inlines . And I need help man. For 1 it’s harder then I remember to skate and balance , but also my feet freaking kill me bad but more so my toes it crushes them
Are you able to get to an in-person skate shop? Sounds like your skates are a size of two down from what you need. It should be snug but never crushing or painful. I'd recommend trying on a couple of different sizes of possible
It's just the general setup (stiffer cuff, 45° strap, larger wheels, ect.) that makes it better for fitness. While all the skates "can" be used for fitness... they won't perform as well as the FR1
@@OlderBladers i see, i did look at them and they are nice i like that they are all black lol anyways unfortunately i can't find them in size 12... Have you tried the FR - UFR 90 - INTUITION - BLACK ?
@Freddy Juarez I have tried the UFR and I really like it... It would be great for both aggressive and fitness... I did a first Impressions video ua-cam.com/video/K9-IPtNDZrs/v-deo.html
@@OlderBladers hey bud I’m curious, did your intuition give just a little bit of rom I’m talking even a sliver in the wide parts of your feet vs an OE FR liner. I’m in the FR3s and my width i don’t exactly have pain but I’ve got side pressure points. Haven’t put a million miles on them yet to really say they’ve been broken in maybe. I know some folks have said the FR3/FR1 take some serious time breaking in. Also are you using insoles at all?

I'm a pretty heavy set guy at 310 and 6 foot tall with size 13 super wide feet. The only things I see that might fit are the roce m12 or the 1992 version of them. I've got no clue if they would support a heavy guy though. Any help would be amazing.
M12 would likely be way to sloppy and they are extremely narrow. Take a look at the Seba CJ Carbon. They make them up to a size 13 (47 eu). Yes they are expensive but they are also the best... IMO
I currently have a pair of inlines and i am overweight 250 5'6 i used to love skating but ive been scared to try it again due to breaking my arm almost in half last time i skated any i want to get back into it but ive forgot how and im just too scared foes anyone have tips on how to help?
I really like the M12... It was the first skate I tried when I got back into skating. Unfortunately, it was too narrow for my foot and didn't offer enough support.
Do you have any suggestions for helmets for 28 inch circumference heads? I have super thick locs & I'm having a hard time finding a helmet in this size.
No sorry... Not that its a good idea but, I grew up skating with a guy who had locs and he just took the padding out of a helmet shell and basically used the locs as the padding of his helmet
I'm just shy of 400lbs, semi-athletic and I'm trying to find a skate that will support me, something for just casual skating outside and in a roller rink. Looking for something ready to go out of the box, my kids are wanting to learn to skate and I want to be able to do it with them. Have any top 3 suggestions? Thanks for your time.
The only skates that i would recommend would be the FR1 or FR3... I have used other skates but nothing comes close to the amount of support these give. I know you are looking for a top 3 but but from what i have tried personally i wouldn't suggest anything else
@xxfree2romexx I went with FR1 310 Intuitions, spendy but very supportive. They don't come with rear brakes so got one of those as well. They only have 3 wheels which are large. Great bearings and they're very smooth.
HI I have the aeons 72mm . my liner tongue falls down and im dealing with pins and needles. I've tried to lace up the liner but it's a pain to get on and off. other than intuition what liners can you offer ? something perhaps taller so I can also do long distance ..
I believe the aeons come with skinny boy liners and other than intuitions that is what I would recommend . If they didnt come stock with Skinny boys i would see about getting a pair. Yes it can be a pain to lace all the way up but in my opinion it is worth it. I generally us 84 inch laces and utilize every eyelet so i can lace the shell and the liner together. I enjoy spending time lacing up as it forces me to stretch a little bit
Do you have any recommendations for general foot pain while skating? I'm about 285 lbs and every time i go inline skating i get this like general foot ache/pain along the bottom of my foot. Do you think this is just like a weight thing possibly or is there any good insole you might recommend? i currently using a k2 skate
Check out Superfeet insoles... pay close attention to the thickness of the insole though... if you get something too thick you might end up making the skate overly tight
I would suggest measuring your foot in cm and following the charts to see where you fit... Unfortunately not all skates fit the same. But sizing by cm seems to be the best way to find the most accurate fit.
For anyone reading this in the future if you get an FR with the stock liner it makes the fit smaller, whereas if you get one that comes with the FR Intuition it creates more room in the shell. So you may have to size up or down accordingly. Personally I think there's never a need to size up (coming from someone whose feet are only 100mm wide) and I find I always can fit (sometimes with a different liner) and sometimes go down a shell size. And to be honest the shoe size you wear is irrelevant really, I wear 11 shoes but 8 or 9.5 skates. Your feet need to be able to move when you walk, but when you're skating they don't so they can be bound tight.
Hey man i was wondering if you could help me out with the sizing of the cj2's? my feet are wide, but also quite big in volume too! Do the cj2's have plenty of space and depth from like the footbed to the top of the foot where the laces are? cheers man!
Being a soft boot they definitely have more give than other skates. There are a few differences between the standard CJ and the Prime... if you wish to use your own liner or an intuition the Prime has a very spacious "shell" that can accommodate most any foot with the right liner. Personally I think the liner that come with the prime is a bit too thick for the skate, at least for me it is. The standard CJ is a bit more narrow in the toe area but has a very soft and comfortable liner. I also have a fairly "thick" foot and they both work great for me
Respect and appreciate the information and content but man I have to watch at 1.5x because of how slow you talk and long you pause between statements. Your videos would be way easier to watch if you talked a little faster.
Thank you very much for this video. I’m a 240 older blader and I would like to know more about your experience with Sola frames. I understand that the Sola frames are more technical, but I would like to know if they are very difficult to use, especially in terms of wheel bite. I currently use the Oysi frames medium chassis (flat setup), and comparing their specifications, I think maybe I have a chance with the Sola frames, but my knowledge is only theoretical. Your opinion would be very helpful. Thanks in advance and Regards from Mexico 👋👋👋
The Sola frames are awesome and I love them how ever I feel they have limited applications... I really love them in a park setting on coping, but that's it. On ledges (even in a park setting) they are hard to use and I get wheel bite on a regular basis. I won't even consider using them on street. I hope this information helps.
How you like the XT’s? I’m looking for some skates… but I’m afraid my big food won’t fit in them lol
1) Hard boot
2) 80mm wheels, so good lower center of gravity (slightly larger wheels might have been better)
3) Can upgrade the frame to 3 larger wheels later
4) They fit properly, with no tight/hot spots
5) They were affordable under $100 on Amazon.
Over 310 lbs and the Rollerblade RB 110, going a full size up, is comfortable and supportive enough for my weight

Bro good choices! I have carbon 3s I am 6ft180 but tbh I could ride them at 280 Np
When I picked skating back up around 2-3 years ago, I weighed 411 lbs! I purchased the Next Core 90s and they are amazing!

@@JayceFrmCT I am now at ~325 lbs. I haven't skated since this summer though. During an active skating period I'll usually drop ~15 lbs monthly and that is with a pretty crappy diet.

@@Sketchmedic I actually took those insoles out completely, didn't like them. I'm looking into gettin superfeet insoles or using none at all.
Shouldn’t be this freaking complicated

Factions are perfect for wide feet
Heavy doesn't not equal FAT! I'm 6'4" 250lbs and fairly muscular. My brother is 6'7" 300lbs and muscular. So not everyone over 220/230lbs is fat! I went from PS phuzion krypton to FR1 and I can say FR1 is shoe size fits are as close to perfect skates as it gets.

All that aside, I recommend checking out Factions

hey I have factions and I notice you also have been using factions lately, I weigh 225 and no matter what I do my toes keep falling asleep. The 2nd skin liners felt the best on my toes, but the cuff was just way too floppy
I really need some help figuring this out, its driving me crazy lol I'm sorry if I just threw alot of information at you!
Have you heat molded the stock liner and shell? I would start there
Great info what about taller wheels at skate park not looking to grind just cruising the ramps and fitness used to aggressive skate mainly launch ramps but way younger skateboard on half pipes
Nothing wrong with larger wheels at the skatepark... I wouldn't go any bigger than 80mm though

Definitely a biggun here, and your video was tremendously helpful. I have found myself stuck between FR ufr ap or the fr2 however. Never skated, but always wanted to. So I guess my question is this. Is it ok for a total beginner to start off on aggressive skates? Any chance I could have a pair of aggressive low skates wiegh 330 pounds and can't afford a pair please the sway or a pair you don't use that's aggressive ND low please
Beggin huh?
your weight? my weight? nah comrade , OUR weight ( soviet anthem starts playing )
5'11" 360lbs. Just bought a pair of K2 fit 84 pro. Hopefully it works out. We'll see what happens. Kinda worried that it's soft boot though... Oh well.
So long as you aren't trying to do any speed skating or hill bombs you should be fine. Take your time and enjoy the ride.
Do you think the ufr 90 intuitions are ok for 350lb folks? I seen you recommended fr3 but i didnt see any “intuition” versions. Thank you! @@OlderBladers
I’m 6’4” I wear Size 13 Extra Wide Running shoes I have high arches and live in the PNW roads suck do they make k2 fattys still? I kinda want a hockey boot with a soul plate and wide tall wheels
Can you list your Seba aggressive skate setup?
What information are you looking for? Where to get them or what parts do I have on them?
@@OlderBladers Which parts?
@@OlderBladers yo bud I’m curious what your mondo and forefoot measurements are? Especially since you’re skating the FR1.
@@Sketchmedic My Mondo is 285... not certain of my forefoot but it's fairly wide
Hey man I just got some aggressive Inlines . And I need help man. For 1 it’s harder then I remember to skate and balance , but also my feet freaking kill me bad but more so my toes it crushes them
1. Give it some time. Just go out and skate and your body will start to remember.
2. what skates did you get?
Are you able to get to an in-person skate shop? Sounds like your skates are a size of two down from what you need. It should be snug but never crushing or painful. I'd recommend trying on a couple of different sizes of possible
Okay so you mentioned the FR1 is for fitness what makes it for fitness, can't those other skate's be use for fitness?
It's just the general setup (stiffer cuff, 45° strap, larger wheels, ect.) that makes it better for fitness. While all the skates "can" be used for fitness... they won't perform as well as the FR1
@@OlderBladers i see, i did look at them and they are nice i like that they are all black lol anyways unfortunately i can't find them in size 12... Have you tried the FR - UFR 90 - INTUITION - BLACK ?
@Freddy Juarez I have tried the UFR and I really like it... It would be great for both aggressive and fitness... I did a first Impressions video

@@Sketchmedic The intuitions make a huge difference... my feet don't even fit in the stock liner at all. If I actually tried the stock liner it would be unbearable.
IMO
@@OlderBladers I appreciate it! Unfortunately just the boot alone is running $500 plus online .
I currently have a pair of inlines and i am overweight 250 5'6 i used to love skating but ive been scared to try it again due to breaking my arm almost in half last time i skated any i want to get back into it but ive forgot how and im just too scared foes anyone have tips on how to help?
So like im like 230 240, my skates won’t break since im that heavy right( I know it’s a pretty stupid question
Hi there: What do you think of Roces M-12?
I really like the M12... It was the first skate I tried when I got back into skating. Unfortunately, it was too narrow for my foot and didn't offer enough support.
Do you have any suggestions for helmets for 28 inch circumference heads? I have super thick locs & I'm having a hard time finding a helmet in this size.
No sorry... Not that its a good idea but, I grew up skating with a guy who had locs and he just took the padding out of a helmet shell and basically used the locs as the padding of his helmet
Any suggestions for knee/elbow/wrist guards for someone who is 6’1 340?? Already have my rollerblades..just need some pads that won’t break the bank.

I got FR3’s and I love them.
What skates did you end up with?
@xxfree2romexx I went with FR1 310 Intuitions, spendy but very supportive. They don't come with rear brakes so got one of those as well. They only have 3 wheels which are large. Great bearings and they're very smooth.

Im 6’5 380lbs shoe size 15, any skates that will work for me?
@@OlderBladers totally 👍 thanks for this
are these also good for beginners?
Do you have any recommendations for general foot pain while skating? I'm about 285 lbs and every time i go inline skating i get this like general foot ache/pain along the bottom of my foot. Do you think this is just like a weight thing possibly or is there any good insole you might recommend? i currently using a k2 skate
Check out Superfeet insoles... pay close attention to the thickness of the insole though... if you get something too thick you might end up making the skate overly tight
I have a question, how do i know what size i should get, since they are size 34 all the way to 47, what should i get for a size 12 US shoe size
I would suggest measuring your foot in cm and following the charts to see where you fit... Unfortunately not all skates fit the same. But sizing by cm seems to be the best way to find the most accurate fit.
Hay where only can I shop for these items
Also i wear a size 15 shoe so any help to find my size would be great
I would suggest Inline Warehouse... they have the largest selection and can have a few options in your size
How do the fr skates fit. I wear a size 12 shoe. Would a size 12 skate fit good? Or do I want to go up or down a size?
I read on loco skates they run 1 sizer smaller than true size. I wear 12-13 in us men shoes so I got the boots that runs 13-14
Ok i need help skates for size 14 but not heavy
I also have a fairly "thick" foot and they both work great for me
Amazing thanks for taking the time to reply dude! Love the videos!
Next video stay on this subject and talk about other skates you can’t skate as big person im 300 pounds and this is interesting 😀
👌❤
Respect and appreciate the information and content but man I have to watch at 1.5x because of how slow you talk and long you pause between statements. Your videos would be way easier to watch if you talked a little faster.
Invest in some light ;)
