Winter Weekend at Woodward
DJ, Josh and I took a trip up to Woodward to meet up with Dan and Jon. It was freezing cold and only 2 of the parks were open but we made the most of it and had a blast either way.

DJ and I had a great session at The Compound. It is so amazing to skate with him. Although he wont take any advice from me, he continues to push himself to learn more tricks and perfect the ones he already has. You may notice the "re-rebranding"... I'm not committed to anything but it just feels right... Let me know what you think.

Kick off to the DC aggressive skating season Met up at one of the city's skateparks to warm up then hit up a few of DC's most iconic skate spots. We stuck to ledges this time as we all are coming out of hibernation. These sessions are only going to get bigger as the season continues so stay tuned Check out blktp.co/

Hello there. Is it good for people with limited mobility? For example, in my case, I cannot squat deep. I'm 6'4 and my feet are wide.
i need some help trying to get back into skating havent skated since i was a kid. i bought the twister xt and the top cuff buckle is small. i struggle to even get it to clip and strap down i need another person to actually get it on. its pretty painful and super tight. should i jus return em and get size up or maybe anew liner can help? what option do i have
@@Row-Low I think the easiest fix would be to replace the buckle to a longer one... reach out to a skate shop and see what they have
@@Row-Low another option would be to replace the buckle with a velcro strap
@@OlderBladersok ik there's a skate shop I can go to. Thanks for the reply
@@Row-Low I would reach out to Long at Oak City Skateshop... He is extremely knowledgeable and generally has a lot of spare parts
@@OlderBladers i jusat bought a used rb argon i should be able to use the straps and cuffs top add on to the xt?
Thanks OlderBladers because I am an Older Blader
Topside torque soul was smooth 👍🏻😊👍🏻

as a 40y/o im so happy i stumbled across this channel most def have a new subscriber. i miss skating so much i came up skating in the ATL scene back in early 2000's
You should get back into it... its still just as fun
@@OlderBladers i would love to
Everyone went in. 💣💣💥 Woodward looks amazing.
so are you allowed to just show up and skate? or do you have to book a class or event?
@MichaelMarcos we purchase in advance on the Woodward website... I believe you can just purchase on site, but there are "limited" spots and id rather not risk it
@OlderBladers cool thanks, I see it now on the website
i wanna start to blade again.. been over 20 years lol.
No time like the present
What mm wheels are these?
I take that back i listened to the beginning instead of skipping to skate shesh!
80mm
Hey buddy just found your channel. Due to nostalgia was looking at roces. I’m aiming towards fifth element bc if wider feet, with compass 72 or 80. Looking to get back in blades more for exercise but feel most comfortable on aggressive for familiarity. What do you think of that combo.
I get the draw to that kind of setup, but I wouldn't suggest roces aggressive skates for exercise. Especially the fifth as it is one of the heavier skates on the market. There are a ton of aggressive skates on the market to choose from and quite a few that would be better suited as an aggressive exercise skate. My first suggestion for that type of setup would be the FR UFR since it is light weight with a strong and supportive cuff.
@ i definitely dont mind the weight, and i love the more sneaker look. Any other suggestions.
@FatBlueLine6217 my first choice would be the new Faction Cameron Card pro skate but that one is going to be a bit pricy... my second choice would be Seba CJ
@ awesome. Ty for the advice
@ what about the roces m12 with 80mm. Is the only reason you suggest not to go with fifth element is just weight?
Looked like a great time guys!! Def gonna roll with you guys next time!
You definitely need to join us next time... we will probably make it back up sometime in the spring
@@OlderBladers I'll be there! I'll make josh throw flips into the pit with me lol

Original Faction souls but dremeled to be sort of half way between them and stealth. Also, if you do mainly ledges, making the soul thinner width wise and getting rid of the front “nub” so to speak (what would hold you onto a rail more) makes royales on ledges much more stable cause you’re basically cess sliding on a much larger area instead of seesawing on a little point… Hard to explain without showing. surprised that it took decades of skating to realize this but in all fairness all my older skates didn’t come with rail grooves (super old razors, K2, Solomon).
Omg i wish this was Durham uk an not in the states
I just had to subscriber... you broke it down the best way ever...!!!!!
Thank you for the great information. I live in Wilmington NC, 48 years old. The last time I skated was 1996. Trying to get back into it and didn’t know where to start.
Great content like always. Love the return of the OG name. That's what got me to watch your content in the first place.

Lookin good gents!!! That torque soul was sooooo slick 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just found a pipe like that coping pipe. It was in a construction dumpster next to my house and it magically fell out and rolled into my yard, weird?? Now im debating about what to do with it. I think im gonna make a table top box like the one you guys were using but probably half the size. Sucks that its getting cold were i live now though(CT).
your gazelle looks like a 3-turn
Thanks for the info, this is my problem atm I skated for most of my childhood and wanted to get back into for health reasons but as of now I am between 315 - 330, but also I have a large foot and need at least a 15 - 16 size skate. A little bit of a side rant, so tired of these companies, negelating the people who actually need it the most, another example is office chairs.... Thanks again for the info
What kind of skates is buddy skating the spine wearing?
He's on the Faction Tactical V1 Shredpool Pro Boot
Too much talking while not actually showing...... Talk & *demo simultaneously is better...
Where can I buy the strap?
@@jeffi.8074 i don't know if this strap is still available anymore... but there are a few velcro straps out there like Faction or JAD straps that should work
These do look really nice! I found a good deal on these skates ($214 - last size in stock). My foot is about 297mm x 105mm, but the size left says MP size is 305mm (but their disclaimer says "add 3-4mm for comfort"), do you think these would be too big for my feet since I'm not sure how thick the stock liner is? Was set on the FR UFR AP boots, which would you pick between the two for skate park and some grinding? Thanks!
@adrianob.965 I think 305mm would be fine using the stock liner... but choosing between Gawds and FR is a pretty tough choice cause they are very different from one another... if you are only doing griding I would probably pick the Gawds... but if you want something more versatile I would go with the FR
@@OlderBladers I would probably roll around the skate park more rather than do grinds to begin with, so it's settled, will get FR UFR AP boots, with a frame with bigger wheels and will get another frame with anti-rocker to re-learn (been almost 20yrs) how to grind, that should cover me! Appreciate the reply!
I skated for about 10yrs straight, I stopped and now it's been about 20yrs (am 40yro) without skating. I was 305lbs early this year and down to 250 now, looking to get back into skating, was debating getting the FR UFR AP boots so I can get bigger wheels frames to cruise & small ones if I wanna try to grind again (starting easy with frontside, royale & soul), but am not sure yet. I have a skate park near my house so would like to try and do small ramps & gaps. What would you recommend? If not, I was looking at the Gawds Team, Razor Genesys, RB Blank SK for aggressive & FR3 80 or RB Lighting 80 for just fitness, but those would limit me in the park, if I wanted to get into grinding, etc.? TIA! PS - I also have bigger feet so my choices seems to be limited (297mm x 105mm)
@adrianob.965 The UFR is a great skate and would be good for both big wheels and aggressive. Much better than any of the other options in my opinion. But I do recommend getting the upgraded one with an intuition liner cause the stock fr liner is pretty bad.
@@OlderBladers Appreciate the reply, found the boot only version with the intuition liner for not much more than the stock liner so will go for that! Was looking at the 50/50 balance 2, OYSI classic & Kizer Fluid IV frames, think might want a flat set up now so that's my next piece of the puzzle, or is there something else you would recommend? I'm comfortable on skates but just need to get use to quarter pipes small gaps, etc., and if I do wanna grind I might just get a set of anti-rocker wheels to swap in the middle
You guys got me seriously considering a pair of Factions. Subbed.
