You know if all the skates I owned, I really miss my razor shima 4s. Reign liners, ground control frames, super comfy and they never broke. Lots of sole plate for rail fun as well 👌
Great video. I skate Tim Frankens because I love that plate too, but I also just love that you can interchange so many of these plates among other flat boots. I've skated the original Faction plates on old CJ carbons and love them. Need to try the Symetrics!
@@OlderBladers I've had a rough go trying to buy pairs off Blade Trade. First pair got lost, second pair broke after just a couple grinds. Going to have to stop being cheap and just buy a new pair!
Love the honest review, so many great options for both those skates. How are the Seba’s and factions compared to the sways? They look really comfortable
That's a good question... Its really hard to compare a soft shell and hard shell skate to each other... and i think it really comes down to personal preference... While i really love the Factions and Sebas, I'm happy to be back in a hard shell
Great Video ! Thx a lot. Just my beginner opinion / question: isn’t the functionality of a soulplate always depending on the coordination of the whole system ? (shell - soulplate with groove - frame with groove - position of groove - depth of the groove - angle - height of the frame and so on) ? Like the GAWDS soulplate doesn’t work on those skates but works perfect on the original Team 2 with the Fluid 4 ? I own several USD Sways with different setups, the Rollerblade Blanks, GAWDS TF and Team2s, had the Roces M12. As I said I am a beginner but all soulplates work very well with the original setup. I ended up skating the GAWDS Team 2. Felt best for me. Love the soulplate. This is not meant as a criticism, just an additional opinion / question
You are totally right that it is a complete system that when designed together work great... but who is to say that it couldn't have been better... yes the gawds plate didn't work on our skates but the Symmetics and both Faction plates were better than the stock Seba plate on the Seba... and the Symmetics plate was better than the stealth plate on the Factions... obviously this is completely our opinions and holds zero scientific basis... 🤣
Great comparison of the flat plates. I think the ultimate would be the Faction Stealth silhouette with the original Faction groove. Were you able to use the Symetrics soulplate bolts on the Factions to give it the extra 4 points of connection? They look like they should line up, and while not as good as the 8 screws on the Faction plates, 4 is better than just UFS alone. Are you on the Seba now for your main boot? Why did you choose it over the Faction V1?
I was actually having a conversation with Josh today about a stealth plate with a V1 groove... josh said he would probably still prefer the V1 plate, and I kinda agree... that plate is just incredibly stable. I will see if the Symetrics line up and report back. I plan on doing a video on my change back to seba, so stay tuned
🙌🏻awesome content and great breakdown on the soul plates. As an older guy starting skating I do find your skating inspiring. 🔥🔥Thanks Bro keep it up with the content. Can’t wait to see the footage at the compound. Big shout out to Josh too, also bringing solid content for us all🙌🏻🙌🏻
Nice review fellas! Subbed.
You guys got me seriously considering a pair of Factions. Subbed.
interesting observations, especially about the backslide grooves
"step on like a mother f****r' 😂
Lol... no way I was letting that slide! 🤣

I had a pair of those as well... I have very fond memories on them.

@@OlderBladers that is fair, I’ve only ever had hard shell. I’m just getting back into it, got some used farmer 2’s. Thanks for the feedback!
Neg Mistrial is slept on as a very cool safety trick.
its a great trick... its been tough for me recently due to some tight hips
Loving your work 😂
Thanks Guy 🙏🙏🙏🙏

You’re a bigger dude but you make it work. I was expecting much worse. Solid big dude style..
Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
