I think, Kim was his first 'really important' bond since his uncle died... like his mom was trying to use him, he was trying to protect his brother from her(like in 8 Mile it was sis).
Deep down he for sure felt rejected and most of all, alone.
Saddest is, he truely bonded with Kim, maybe also because he was feeling HORRIBLY alone. And like this fallen chick that used Rabbit in 8 Mile, Kim could really break his 'last hope', but as life was always pulling sh-t on him, he knew, he have to stand up and fight, still...
But it was his 'first love' and when all life You feel not loved, not by Your own mom, even, You grab desperately what You see Your occasion.
And Kim scr ewed him over and over. They had on-off relationship and even when their relationship WAS toxic, it was all he had...
He have two other daughters, but none of them is 'his', too. Only Haily is.
I think, deep down, part of Em, even if hating, loves Kim, as she gave him, even if twisted, love when no one else gave. She also gave him something, what was always really far from him, but his dream - family. I think this is also reason he hold so desperately on his bond with Hailie. She is his FAMILY, he feel like he will not/can't loose.
So he protects her with all he got...as also she is only woman left, that he trust in. His mom, Kim, latter relationships also probably broken with his lack of trust...
No woman, partly probably because of his trust issues, stay. Mom, Kim, sued him.
Only one he can trust no one else, but his flesh and blood is his sacrum. And THAT is why Hailie Mathers is untouchable.
Not my favourite song of him, but I can understand why he wrote it...
Eminem's music man.......he really never makes a bad track....sometimes his songs wont grab you right away or you'll be like wtf em why this track man, later on you will listin to it and you will relate to it and you will understand the genius of it. Eminem's depth and pure geniousness can often times go over our heads or sometimes it's not what we want to hear from him at that time cause we have our own expectations. And when he makes a song were the lyrics are just rediculous and comical the beat is always fire and it will hook you that way. What's really fire are your reviews man! Love your range man of what you review....throw in the mortal kombat sound bites and shit is so dope. You know your music.

MMLP2 is a good album almost start to finish this being one of my favorites too. And just to mention because you implied Eminem wouldn’t write something like this today but may I point out Bad Husband or Need Me off Revival? Or even If we want could say Good Guy off of Kamikaze is a form of this type of track. That’s also one thing I love about Eminem is the ability or just his nature and style of tracks like this one or the ones I mentioned.
