Not just the GM. It's half of Mike Malone's coaching staff that went there. They know all his tricks and have a counter for everything. Malone needs to start from the drawing board if they want to defeat them. Maybe a little tweak in personnel. I'd let Murray and MPJ go for solid and cheaper role players. Then focus on the AG, Jokic tandem in the paint. The worst part is this Wolves team will only get better next year.
@@Polotongquitzyou’re crazy if you’d let Murray go. Yea he was bad this year for 90% of the games but he’s the reason they won in the close games this year and last year
@@TH-cq7bj yes, he's good but not good enough for what they pay him. Him and MPJ are taking huge amounts of the salary cap without providing the value expected from them. They're just overpaid and to top it up, injury prone too. But if I get to let one go it would be Murray. 1. MPJ has length and can be a good defender and rebounder at times. Murray is just an iso player reliant on Jokic's picks and passes. 2. Murray has more value on the trade market than MPJ, so it would be easier to trade him and get more value out of him.
“Perfect answer”? This series was absurd…up and down, up and down. No team seemed to have an answer. We finally get a game 7 that’s close and down to the wire, and jokic was gassed. He couldn’t stop the bleeding. Denver had a championship team, jokic just gassed out
I kept saying this for the entire season: without Jokić, this is a lottery team. The fact that he took them to joint 1st record in the ultra-competitive West is alone making his MVP case obvious.

Yeah but the problem is as soon as Jokic and Murray go to the bench the lead would disappear. I don't think it would change anything, after the second half was basically Jokic and Murray with the other 3 players watching the game on the court because they couldn't buy a bucket.
That was a bad look on the team. The two men game didn’t work. And they missed a lot of open jumpers as well. One thing was given; Nuggets bench was poor this year. Braun looked completely lost in offense and didn’t dare to shoot. I don’t even remember if Reggie Jackson played at all. Malone knew what was at stake and did not play whatever he had as a bench.

Why are we giving teams so much shit for losing lmao. People act like the Nuggets lost to a G-League team. They lost to the third seed (one game away from the first seed). They were the best defensive team all season. Sixteen teams make the playoffs. Only one comes out on top. To hate on everyone but the winners is wild. The Nuggets won a championship last year and played well this post season. You cant put up a 40 piece every game unless youre MJ. The nature of basketball is that youre going to miss shots. No need to shit on the Nuggets. It was a great series. Give them props for competing. Give the Wolves credit for being the better team. And move on
About time someone makes sense about basketball or for that matter any sport. You are playing against professionals and to repeat as champs is very difficult in any sport. And to knock Jokic as a some have is so stupid it's pathetic. Just to get in the playoffs every year is difficult. To say Jokic scored garbage points when the game was only 5 or 6 points different is rediculous. Murray had his bad games BUT he had great games. Give it a break already. Congratulations to both teams.
I would love to see a regular guy off the street try to shut down Antman! He is a phenom and the Nuggets rattled him early on. That is not easy to do. Give them credit, and KAT is no easy slouch to contend with. And Na is something else. Give the Nuggets credit, if they hit a few more of their wide open shots in the third we would all be wondering how they are so good. Now we treat them like trash? Exactly! They were crucial and important to last years championship run and I knew they would miss em when they didn’t resign them. Now this is the result, 5 bench points in a crucial game 7. When the Nuggets were high the last few seasons, and Jokic was winning MVPs in a very overinflated era, Skap said nothing of the Nuggets supporting cast. Now he's looking for excuses and excessively criticizing the supporting cast. Joker is the best offensive center in NBA history (no cap). But he's not a good defender. "Jokic and the Nuggets collapsed" It's pretty obvious Jokic is the Nuggets. It's not a team. "And this guy Skap, is bailing out the MVP and not holding him accountable for any of it." You can have him accountable. He's the only player, so I don't see the point, though. "Now he's looking for excuses and excessively criticizing the supporting cast." As Darko says about the supporting cast, it's a complete crap. "But he's not a good defender." He is a good defender. "this series is proof that he doesn't make his teammates better" That line is always thrown around, when a superstar doesn't pass the ball. But Jokic is a top-3 passer in the league. Making teammates better is said by casuals, who don't have anything worthwhile to say.
This is some reactionary BS honestly. The team wasn't that bad. Nobody was saying all the other players were trash when they were beating up on the Lakers. The difference was clearly the Wolves' defense and the fact that the refs have been letting teams play better defense across the board in the playoffs. Some of these players aren't accustomed to it and don't know what to do about it. The video starts off with the saying that defense wins championships. Well, guess what Denver wasn't able to step up their defense to meet the challenge. As great as Jokic is on the offensive end, he's not that big a threat on the defensive end and that certainly didn't help in this game. So even though he was fantastic as usual, he's not faultless in this loss.
I love Jokic but you're correct. I watched game 6 and noticed how useless he looked under the rim against drives from the Wolves. They were intentionally going at him when he was the sole rim protector and he didn't contest anything. I get that he was trying to avoid foul trouble but it still resulted in easy buckets for Minnesota and helped fuel their momentum. Denver needs another guy to protect the rim, Jokic just can't do it.
Turns out beating a washed Lebron and an 8th seed doesn't make you an all time great. Jokic will never belong with the greats of the game. Most fraudulent 3x MVP in any sport.
Yes Skap, defense wins championships, and Jokic is weak at it. He had one block and a deflection or two but he got dunked on ferociously by his kryptonite, Naz Reid and gave up Kat's putback slam that sealed the deal for the Wolves win. Not to mention shooting only 46 percent which is poor for him, and a terrible 20 precent from three!!! Jokic will hold himself accountable, so why can't you follow his example?
That's tough. That's kinda wrong. Ant-Man acts like a brat without any upbringing. The Wolves would be an average team in the league without Gobert, but Ant refuses to give him his flowers. Ant is the new face of the league, and didn't deserve it in years. Probably ever, actually.

Credit to the Timberwolves for their defense and shot-making, but it was absolutely breathtaking to watch the Nuggets get steamrolled starting in the mid-3rd quarter with so many bricks. MPJ is not only such a painful overpay for horrific inconsistency, he seems to have an allergy for defense that made it easier for whomever he was supposed to be guarding. Unfortunately, no team short of a lottery/money-surplus team would take on his albatross contract, which would probably require giving up draft picks in return... Jokic will need to do another Jokic '23/Olajuwon '94 performance to get back to the Finals...
Every star needs help. You can’t win in this league with one player dominating anymore otherwise doncic would have a championship by now. Now he has Irving and good role players so he has a chance to win.
"...Jokic needs help?" Well, yes. He can't need more help, because he has no help in the first place. He's played 8 season in the league, and never with an all-star teammate.
This is a failure that Jokic absolutely must bear the brunt of the criticism for, especially as league MVP. Jokic being "gassed" from playing a ton of minutes is a legitimate and observable fact - you could see it in his eyes. He's only human. BUT that's exactly why someone like Jordan is viewed as "other than human": A DOG, A GOAT. I think maybe just maybe MJ was also tired/gassed in that "Flu game", but he had something extra within him that was not subject to the limitations of human physiology. THERE IS NO STAT LINE FOR THE WILL TO WIN.
Jordan won 6 chips playing two man basketball. He didn't have anyone outside of Pippen. It was Jordan and another Bulls player who would contribute offensively, usually the other players was Pippen. One thing Jordan's Bulls did do was commit to playing solid team defense. This made up for the offensive deficiencies of the team. You don't need to be talented to play great defense. Defense is all about effort. This game came down to defense and the Wolves played excellent team D to pull this one out. Your shot isn't going to fall every night, but you can play hard nose defense no matter what.
Man stop 😂😂😂😂Jokic has the most complete team you can ask for. MPJ, Murray and Gordan can go for 25 on any given night. They all play well when clicking. Now that MPJ has a couple bad games now it’s he doesn’t have a good supporting cast? Stop it 😂😂😂
You unintentionally pointed out the problem yourself Murray, MPJ and Gordon are insanely inconsistent, half of the time they don't show up while the Timberwolves for example are full of guys who show up 95% of the time The supporting cast of Jokic is everything but consistant
Jokic failed the nuggets. It’s not the role players fault, it’s the 3 time mvp’s fault. Keep it consistent. If it’s not lebron’s teammates fault, then it’s not jokic’s teammates fault either. Defense wins titles, and jokic played little defense in that game. Simply put they just got out played as a team. Denver isn’t battle tested like that. But role players don’t take blame for losses, stars do. That’s jokic, he failed them in more ways than one. Jokic is great but he isn’t all that, this weak basketball we’ve seen the last 15 yrs has made everyone forget what great actually looks like. I’m disappointed in this video.

Correct. Joker's Defense is putrid and in a tight, physical game like this it has cost them dearly. This soft era has made some people forget that Rim Protection is still massively important, especially when the shots aren't falling.
This is the same tactic used by LeBron James fans. Blame the teammates. Jokic's team gave up a 20 point second half lead at home with him on the court. The so-called greatest offensive player ever couldn't manufacture enough scoring to keep that lead? Game 7's are when we expect all time greats to show up, not "the teammates".
lebrons teammates average prime shaq numbers, jokics teammates average todays shaq numbers, there is a difference, you just need to be not biased or stupid to see it
@@aleksandarstojanovski9193 No one on Lebron's team has ever averaged prime Shaq numbers in the playoffs. My guy was putting up 30 and 15 with over 3 blocks a night in the slowest era of all time. LeBron is a known stat padder, and he hasn't put up prime Shaq numbers in the playoffs.

@@aleksandarstojanovski9193 I guess he's pretty close, though obviously the pace is much faster in today's game. I stand corrected though. I had his game 5 stinker still in my mind, but he was over 30 in the first 3.
They were up by a lot but they decided to start chucking three's instead of killing the clock and just trying to score in the paint. As much as I like the nuggets, they kinda deserved to lose this one. WP to the Wolves for not giving up.
Skap... We have to admit that Jokic wasn't dominant as last year despite his numbers. Murray got plagued with injuries and despite that... He still playing and performing good at the clutch as best as he could. Game 7... Despite Jokic scoring 34 points, he was under 48% which hurts the impact of those points a bit. He will get better...
Here is a another way to look at it. How often did you see the nuggets play their open style of offensive play? They did it in game 3,4, and 5. Also it’s hard to complain about the rest of the players getting single point scores when jokic takes 28 FGA, Murray takes 27 FGA, and the last 24 are spread around 6 dudes.
The bench was an issue, but not why they lost game 7 MPJ, Murray and Jokic missed a combined 21 three-point shots and had 8 of Denver's 10 turnovers. They also took 67 of Denver's 83 shots Denver is at its best when they get everyone involved
Bro is a bum, I get it when he's having a bad shooting night but he's one of the tallest guys on the floor and doesn't use his size to get to the glass, soft af
That's why is so difficult to repeat as champions, especially if the team is not constructed with at least two allstars who have different roles. The Nuggets are a great team but a lot revolve around Jokic to create offense for others, if you meet a defensive team like Minnesota other teammates may find a hard way to score like what happened this game7. They just need to regroup and find a deepee bench with more shot creator and they are fine.

A great team? You sure? Don't get me wrong Jamal and Gordon are good players, but the Nuggets are great because of one guy. The wolves are great because they have a great team. It's crazy that the GM that built this Nuggets team left the organization and went and custom crafted the perfect answer to it in Minnesota.

Minnesota and their defense was historic. Jokic and the Nuggets collapsed, also historic. And this guy Skap, is bailing out the MVP and not holding him accountable for any of it.
He plays like Larry Bird and Tim Duncan, both BTW were multiple NBA All-Defensive Teams alumni. He perfected stats in this modern era, where guys like Jalen Brunson can average 35-40 points in a playoff series (prior to the injuries).
The excessive Jokic d*ck riding has to be pulled back now - this series is proof that he doesn't make his teammates better - but Skap will double down and get knee pads next year. Watch
"Jokic and the Nuggets collapsed"
It's pretty obvious Jokic is the Nuggets. It's not a team.
"And this guy Skap, is bailing out the MVP and not holding him accountable for any of it."
You can have him accountable. He's the only player, so I don't see the point, though.
"Now he's looking for excuses and excessively criticizing the supporting cast."
As Darko says about the supporting cast, it's a complete crap.
"But he's not a good defender."
He is a good defender.
"this series is proof that he doesn't make his teammates better"
That line is always thrown around, when a superstar doesn't pass the ball. But Jokic is a top-3 passer in the league. Making teammates better is said by casuals, who don't have anything worthwhile to say.
Stop throwing "historic" around.
I will agree with this one. Jokic is at best average when it comes to defense. Minnesota Timberwolves was better and was just hungry.
Exactly
I love Jokic but you're correct. I watched game 6 and noticed how useless he looked under the rim against drives from the Wolves. They were intentionally going at him when he was the sole rim protector and he didn't contest anything. I get that he was trying to avoid foul trouble but it still resulted in easy buckets for Minnesota and helped fuel their momentum. Denver needs another guy to protect the rim, Jokic just can't do it.

In Game 7, the other team’s 22 YEAR OLD best player was 6-24 and they were up 20 in the 2nd half.
And they lost. At home.
Skap, I’m gonna disagree with you here. Jokic choked. His team choked. Simple as that. Dirk also had bums in his 2007 MVP season and choked. It happens. What we need to see now is his response next season. Will give credit that Jokic didn’t need to stack the deck to win a title last year, but he choked yesterday, no excuses.
EDIT: The only thing that is annoying that they treat Jokic like 2007 Dirk after Jokic already won a title when they should’ve treated him more like 2011 Dirk. That slander is a stupid take. Still, every great besides MJ had a series they choked in. It happens. I respect that Jokic at leasts takes accountability. Now Murray though…
Terrible take. Dirk beat the 2011 Miami Heat for his ring. Jokic beat the 2023 Miami Heat for his ring (never beating a 50 win team in the playoffs). Context matters
jordan was terribly in the 96 finals
@@Reaper13-hi3yo And it seems you don’t know what context means. Get a better bot Klutz. Hey LeDiddy , did you fiddle with the bot to make it as stupid with you, like pretending to read the first page of a book? LMAO 🤡
I’ve been waiting for this episode😂
Congrats Wolves! You have a bright future. Hopefully Jokic and his supporting cast will bounce back
Hopefully Jokic leaves Denver.
He's definitely showing a huge bias here. Jokic has a great team, they just weren't better than the timberwolves
a great team has depth , a great team has a bench, the nuggets have the worst bench IN THE LEAGUE, clearly this team is not great they were good, good enough for a 4-1 series win vs bum ass lakers where every game was close and denver always had to play catch up. everyone knew this was concerning.😂
dude is a racist actually
like one of those racist gamers
A great team? You sure? Don't get me wrong Jamal and Gordon are good players, but the Nuggets are great because of one guy. The wolves are great because they have a great team. Ant just puts them over the top.
Ant has Rudy, Kat, a really good two way wing in JMD, and a 6MOTY in Naz Reid. I'm more surprised the series went 7 games. The Wolves had more firepower but that's the greatness of Jokic, he only had maybe one bad game this series iirc.
Skap bias? Wow that's a new thing lol.
In order for any team to be "great", they have to play great. Nuggets not named Jokic simply don't. It's leftish to call facts "biased" only because they don't support the way somebody feels about something.
If Jokic gets disgruntled in Denver, I’m sure he’d be warmly welcomed to the Knicks.
Brunson
Divencenzo
OG
Randle
Jokic
That’s a championship squad
I thought Jokic was so Good he made his teammates better 😂
DON'T DO THAT...THE NUGGETS HAVE A GREAT TEAM....THE TIMBERWOLVES HAVE A GREAT TEAM ASWELL...AT THIS STAGE OF COMPETITION EVERYONE HAS A GREAT TEAM ..IT JUST COMES DOWN TO WHO DOES WHAT WHEN IT COUNTS....THE NUGGETS HAVE BEEN DOMINENT FOR THE LAST 4 SEASONS..THEIR NOT BUMS...THE WOLVES HAVE BEEN COMING THE LAST 4 YEARS. IT WAS JUST THE WOLVES TIME....FACTS!!!!!
